    I just bought all my parts on Amazon, cant wait!!! I bought everything you suggested.
    I opted for 512gb instead of the 256gb NVME for read & write speed, I got a 1TB WD ssd to work off of & for storage until the 4tb barracuda's are back in stock. I got the Wifi & Bluetooth card you suggested also.
    Never built a PC before but looking at your full build video gave me confidence. Love the channel, only wish i found it at the start of Lockdown. All the best man, looking forward to more great content.

      @@keeyonbeaty2424 its perfect, It took me a little longer to build just because I have never done anything like this before but was done in under 3hrs. I have a drone & 4k camera & its handling all the footage I throw at it with ease. I am a complete amateur but I think this will do me for years to come. This build video is fantastic, I followed step by step (with a good few pauses) & it was a breeze. If you are not a gamer, going for a Quadro m4000 or p4000 used would be the best option. Very stable cards, amazing performance in Premiere and DaVinci Resolve, and miners, gamers, and scalpers don't want them. My m4000 has 8GB VRAM and 1664 Cuda cores and you can get it now for less than $200 (I got mine new for a lot of money, but it served its purpose). The only downside is the fact that gaming on Quadro gives you considerably less FPS.

    Thanks for the video and helpfull info. Actually I was going to upgrade my PC to the 'mac-pro-killer' black & white build you made recently, but that atx tower size seems too much for me. Especially if you're not using internal HDDs and extra stuff like 10G and wi-fi that's built into the motherboard already. Would be great to see some kind of a 'beast for video editing' with 3950x in a compact case. Like same performance in 2x smaller form factor... sacrificing some usb ports and sata (not everybody need more than 8 USBs obviously). Not sure if makes sencse, but I would rather had like 8 usbs and all my internal storage on NVMe gen4 with no sata HDDs + 10G built-in for the NAS comutication but much compact and mobile (just in case).

    Some good advice, but also some that is a bit off.
    I wouldn't recommend the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER for people who need an 8GB GPU. Most of the "super" cards are poor value. In this case, you can buy a RTX 2070 for the same price, and it has more cores (tested 13% performance improvement).
    You advised four RAM slots. No, it's better to use only dual slots for stability and performance.
    Do not pinch pennies when it comes to SSD size. My boot/app drive would be full if it was only 256GB... and you will also want room for the video editing cache. Your diagram was good advice (3 internal drives, each for a different purpose) but since you are not specifying a separate cache drive in this build, you will need room for this somewhere! (Personally I would get two 1 TB SSD drives and then not worry about throughput or space. Costs more though.)
    The best motherboard at this time is the MSI X570 Tomahawk (read the reviews) and who the heck cares about the colour?! This already has WiFi, Bluetooth, etc. so no need for extras.
    I would get a case with mesh front for far better air throughput. Fans can run slower, parts last longer, less noise.
    As far as case brands: Fractal Design.

    • @theTechNotice
      @theTechNotice  4 года назад

      Hey Robin,
      thanks for your input. Now my idea here was to keep the cost as low as possible for people who want to enter in to this video editing space. Now your recommendations are definitely good, but add a lot of cost to the build. If ones budget allows, they should definitely think about your suggestions.
      Now few things I'm not sure/like to know more about: "No, it's better to use only dual slots for stability and performance. " I'd like to know more about this and where did you find that information.
      Also I'd like to know where I could find some info about this: "I wouldn't recommend the GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER for people who need an 8GB GPU. Most of the "super" cards are poor value. In this case, you can buy a RTX 2070 for the same price, and it has more cores (tested 13% performance improvement)."
      Let me know :)

      @@theTechNotice Thanks for engaging. I went back to find the tests I had read but instead found two others, neither of which support my statement about the percentage increase.
      Tech Power Up shows the 2060 SUPER 12% faster than the 2060, while the 2070 is 16% faster.
      www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-2060.c3310
      The second test is specific to Resolve and so more meaningful. It also shows a distinct improvement going from the 2060 to 2060 SUPER, with a smaller increment at the 2070.
      www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/DaVinci-Resolve-GPU-Roundup-NVIDIA-SUPER-vs-AMD-RX-5700-XT-1563/
      At the moment I can get a 2070 for the same price as the 2060 SUPER, so though I was wrong about the performance gain, I would still buy into the small improvement. It's important to realise that all these increments are very small, and really only matter if every moment is precious. More important is the fact that both the 2060 SUPER and 2080 have 8GB VRAM that enables work in 4K timelines. If that is not an goal, then the much cheaper GTX 1650 SUPER will be good enough for many.

      @@theTechNotice On the RAM issue, I have read in many places that two sticks of RAM are preferable to four, even if the latter case can theoretically be 1% faster. I have read threads where crashes were solved by reducing from 4 to 2 RAM modules. This seems to particularly be the case with Ryzen. Here are a couple:
      www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/x570-and-ram-configurations.257821/

      @theTechNotice  4 года назад

      Hey Robin Thanks for that, yeah I can see that the 2060s and 2070 are the same(ish) price but the 2070 is slightly faster. So good point. Although at this point in time the 2070 is not in production anymore where's 2060s still is. Not sure how that'll effect the price! :)

    • @theTechNotice
      @theTechNotice  4 года назад

      Hey Robin,
      thanks for the info about RAM. I'm still not sure about it since the 2nd to 3rd gen Ryzen was a massive jump in stability and performance. And the examples on the articles seem to be quite old. What doesn't make sense to me is why the MOBO manufacturers give you 4 slots then if 4 slots is not stable and not upgrading to from 2 slots?
      Surely if that's a well known issue there's should be more info about that all over the place?
      Anyway, what you think?

Runs all games high/ultra just fine, 75+ fps, while also being able to handle editing really well also. The case is even the exact same as this phanteks case, just rebranded with the cyberpower tag instead of phanteks, but you know its the same exact case since it also comes with the phanteks logo zip ties and accessories. Really good value imo, and you may even be able to snag one up for about $600 if you get it during the black friday sales coming up soon. Either way, id say its a decent buy if the price is right, and you also get the standard free warranty from cyberpower and bestbuy should anything happen within a year iirc.

    Absolutely amazing! thank you so much for making this video, it helps me a lot! One thing to make sure, is this setup working great with sony's 4k codec? As you mentioned the Sony 4k codec is clunky when edited in premiere pro even when compared to the 6k footage from bmpcc. So will I get the same performance with it?

    • @theTechNotice
      @theTechNotice  4 года назад +1

      Definitely 'not' the same smooth performance compared the the 6k braw codec. But I was editing sony 4k multicam and it worked fine, wasn't as smooth ons crubbing but fine. 😊

    - R3 2200G (OC)
    - RX570 4GB Powercolor Red dragon
    - 2x4GB 2400Mhz T-force Vulcan (OC 2933Mhz)

    I can use editing footage at 1080p but some trouble with motion graphics, slow and staggering preview, so i need rendering 1st before preview.
    Maybe, i need some upgrade my rig from 8GB of ram to 16GB, R3 2200G to R5 36000, and RX570 4GB to 1660ti.

    Good picks... I just spec'd out something very similar... I'd suggest maybe 1660 Super's might be the best value at that general price range? They have GDDR6 memory like a Ti, and run at a higher frequency, but with fewer cuda cores... And come fairly close to Ti performance, weirdly... But might be significantly cheaper (was for me - about a $100 price difference between a). The other major change I went with was 2x 32Gb, 2666mhz... To get to 64Gb, and be theoretically possible to go to 128Gb... Which is officially supported by the Tomahawk Max B450. I'm still waiting for a few parts to arrive before I can actually build it, though :D

    I recommend the 2700X over the 3600x Its a gen behind but 8 cores 16 thread much better for editing and you can over clock it nicely.

    • @theTechNotice
      @theTechNotice  4 года назад

      I actually have to disagree with you. I think the 3600x is a better buy since:
      1. The mutlicore score of the 3600x and 2700x is almost the same and single core is much better on the 3600x which makes the everyday pc use much snappier where programs can't utilise multi thredding.
      2. The 3600x is built on a 7nm structure vs 12nm on 2700x meaning much more efficient.
      3. Kinda confirming the 2nd point but the 3rd gen Ryzen Cpu-s did a massive jump from 2nd gen. :)
      Hope this helps! 😊

      @@theTechNotice hello,
      I have some problems please read it and provide me solution, I would really appreciate it.
      So I have a premiere pro project that I worked on, it has motion graphics templates and some glitch plugins installed.
      Whenever I try to open this project, premier shows that it is loading media in the bottom right corner of the screen, which is fine and normal.
      But premier just never loads it! It gets stuck and I see that blue bar thing on right bottom corner.
      I opened the same project on my crappy laptop which doesn't have a graphics card, and it opened it just fine and didn't get stuck while importing the files.
      I'm have tried using pr 2019and 2020, same results
      Installed latest drivers, no help
      Installed Windows again, again no help
      So is the problem with my graphics card? What can I do to fix all this mayhem please help,.

    You should look into the rtx 2060 KO. Sure it performs in gaming like a normal 2060 but in workload specific processes like a 2070 because of the different chipset it has compared to the normal 2060. For a content creator on a budget a serious recommendation. It also doesnt cost that much more than a 2060. In some instances you can get it even cheaper

    • @reflectedOS

      Can anyone confirm from a recent purchase that the 2060 KO still has the TU104 die, or was that just early on? There is a Tom’s Hardware article that covers this, I believe, as in there is no guarantee that all 2060 KOs have the TU104 die. I think the newer 2060 KOs may use TU106 which is smaller has less CUDA cores (the original specification). I think early on, people just got lucky with the TU104 due to supply when the card was first released.

    So I noticed in the desc you mentioned if someone wanted to upgrade to 32GB they can just buy another 16GB kit and use 4 x 8GB to get 32GB of RAM - while yes they can do this, this is also rather inefficient as all the CPUs listed function better from Dual-Channel RAM, not Quad-Channel. Though it makes a very minimal difference with Ryzen, it's still worth noting.
