    Since Labadee is a Royal Carribean port, is the buffet free or do you still need to pay for it?

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  4 года назад +1

      It's completely free! You can choose to purchase alcoholic drinks with your SeaPass card, but all of the food in Labadee is included in your cruise fare.

    If yes, what can i do or what's process please?

      From what we've read, the area is privately owned by Royal Caribbean and no one is allowed in or out of Labadee overland other than employees - one must be a passenger on the visiting ship in order to gain access. But we hope you have a nice time in Haiti!

    We are going there as well. Is there anyway to leave the private beach and go into Haiti itself?

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  5 лет назад

      Hello, Vernice! As far as I have read, you can travel away from RC's main area in a few of their excursions:
      There's a boat tour: www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=QLB3&DestinationCode=
      And one boat ride that takes you to Norm's Place: www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=QLF2&DestinationCode=
      I did also read (but could not verify) that if you were born in Haiti, they will allow you off RC's compound by paying a small fee and signing a waiver. But it sounded like the closet town was a 20-minute drive away.
      I hope that helps! Thanks for watching :)

    They should offer a helicopter tour with a stop at the Citadel and Sans Souci.

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  Месяц назад

      That would be neat if Royal offered it but I don't believe they have any excursions outside the private beach area. However, I have read that guests may be able to book outside private tours through third parties. Thanks for watching!

    How much did it cost for the rental of the cabana? Also would you know the price for the beach loungers for 2. Thanks for the video I will be there in September.

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  7 лет назад +1

      Hello! We paid $500 for all-day use of an accessible over-the-water cabana at Nellie's Beach. It included two floating mats, a cooler of water and an attendant who was available to answer questions or assist as needed. Here's a current list of prices for all extras you can purchase in Labadee:
      www.royalcaribbean.com/findacruise/destinations/shoreExcursions/subGateWayByPort/search.do?LocationCode=LAB&pager.offset=0
      I believe our cabana cost more than the website says because of it's placement over the water and it's accessibility. It looks like the cost of the Beach Lounger for 2 is $45 per lounger (more details here: www.royalcaribbean.com/shoreExcursions/product/detail/view.do?sourcePage=shorexByPort&ProductCode=ZLB0&DestinationCode=)
      Hope that helped! Thank you for your comment and enjoy your time in Labadee!

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  4 года назад

      Hi, Tawana! Thanks for watching :) We don't remember exactly what we paid, however this recently updated Cruise Critic article mentions that the overwater cabanas start at $579 for the day. We split the cost with our group so that helped make it more affordable. Have a great time in April and let us know how you liked it!

    What ship did RCI ship did you sail? How was the experience compared to Celebrity?

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  7 лет назад +1

      Hi, Bradley! We sailed on Navigator of the Seas in April. Previously we've been on Jewel and Freedom but have only sailed on Celebrity's Infinity. The comparison is interesting for me as I have always loved Royal and at first thought Celebrity didn't have enough activities aboard, thus making me miss Royal. But going back to Royal after Celebrity, I found myself missing the quality of food aboard Infinity and the better service (RC is fine but Celebrity felt a step above). Little things like cold towels at embarkation, the variety of restaurants, and serving small dishes of sorbet poolside made Celebrity feel more luxurious and relaxing. But I also have to remember that our trip on Infinity was 17 nights long and our trip in April was only 9 - plus we spend most of our time running around filming for the vlog, so time goes by fast. I love cruising in general and have enjoyed both lines but the little perks put Celebrity a notch above for me!

    HI when you disembark ship, is the beach that is closest the nicest beach?

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  5 лет назад +1

      Hi, Lisa! While "nice" can be a matter of opinion, we believe that Nellie's beach was the nicest beach on Labadee. It's not the closest to the dock. You'll walk past the large north side beach first. Nellie's is on the south side of the peninsula. We had rented a beach cabana so we had privacy, but the beach itself is open to all. It's a smaller cove so it's not as crowded. I hope that helps! Thanks for watching!

    • @lisamorand9607
      @lisamorand9607 5 лет назад

      Yes, this helps, thank you so much. We have cruised quite a lot, on a Canadian budget, (we don't celebrate anniversaries, bdays etc.) our 3 weeks in Florida Jan 26 to Feb 16 this year is our time together. 2 of our grown kids live with us. So just being alone, on the beach, listening to music, drinking, swimming snorkeling. etc. We adore Half Moon Cay. (been to GSC, CCC,) this is first time in Lebadee and we are going to princess cays too on carnival. 2 short cruises. Then my Marriott points. We love America, got addicted to Cruisin when our money was par. This info is so helpful as so much is done in preparation for our trip.

      Hi again, let me know if you know of Lebadee if there is free chairs with umbrellas, like there are free ones on Turks ? ty

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  5 лет назад +1

      Lisa, all loungers are free. However, to have guaranteed shade, you can purchase the use of the Clamshells, which are also situated on a private stretch of beach. I believe you can also purchase umbrellas. But if you don't want to spend money, many people just dragged loungers underneath trees and found shade for free!

    Do you pay in cash or what renting the cabana/beds etc? US Dollars? Do you book in advance/or on the ship?
    Thanks.

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  6 лет назад

      Hello, Leif! Thanks for watching. You can either book online on Royal Caribbean's website, over the phone before your cruise begins, or once you're onboard at the Shore Excursions desk. I would assume the credit card that is required to be attached to your account would be used for online purchases. As for cash, you may be able to use US dollars onboard at the excursions desk, but I would double-check that.
      Since Labadee is owned by RC, your only option is to book directly through them (versus going through an independent operator).
      This article gives some tips on booking excursions: www.royalcaribbeanblog.com/2013/07/10/cruising-101-how-book-royal-caribbeans-excursions
      I hope that helps!

    • @watchuswander
      @watchuswander  6 лет назад

      Hello, Bola Gold! Yes, Labadee is free for cruise passengers. However, any activities, alcoholic drinks, and specialty beach chair reservations do have an extra cost. But the cruise line will cater a free meal and free non-alcoholic drinks for lunch while you're in port in Labadee.

    Hello,
    Can anyone here give a message to the Haitians who are selling Haitian-made crafts at Labadee?
    Please tell the Haitian sellers/marketers not to sell exactly the same items like statures at all the selling booths.
    Instead, each marketer should focus on selling one specific unique item. Example, one marketer can sell hats, one can sell only belts, others can sandals, etc.
    That way each seller is unique. The way it is now, most of them are sells statures and its hard for cruise visitors/buyers to "distinguish" which seller to buy from since they all look the same.
    Please give this message to the sellers, this will help them out a lot and they will sell more.
    Thank You! and GOD bless!
