  • While in Seward we travel downtown to the Alaska Sea Life Center to visit the only facility in Alaska that combines a public aquarium with marine research, education, and wildlife response. During our visit we learned about a baby male Pacific walrus calve that had been abandoned near Nome, Alaska on June 14 is now a resident in their I.Sea.U facility being stabilized and rehabilitated before he will be moved to a permanent aquarium or zoo where he will live out the rest of his life. We also enjoyed all the other animals that call the Sea Life Center home including some harbor seals, many sea birds and fish local to the area. (Season 2 - Episode 45)

He was so cute. Just really hard to get good video or pictures of him due to the layout of his area.

Thank you Karie. Our friends Ben and Rebecca suggested we do away from the jingle. It was hard to do but I agree... gets you the viewer to the content quicker. =) Thanks for watching!

I started to say I wanted that girl's job (with the baby walrus on her legs) but then I thought it looked a bit cold. Haha. Fun place.

We met a couple of people who work there and they LOVE working at the Sea Life Center and how we got some inside info on the Walrus. They have nicknamed him Wally, but since they will not be permanently housing him they officially cant name him.
