The running thing is kind of Khabib style to avoid strikers early rounds it's just smart. If Conor wanted to win he should have stayed on the outside and make it a boring fight till round 3 so he can't shoot takedowns and finish him afterwarts. This is hard, I'm rooting for Gaethje because I think he's awesome & I'd love to see him win this fight and have done for a long time way before it was even in the works but I don't want to see Khabib heartbroken or anything in loss either however he's been in touch with Dana to say he's ready so he obviously is. If Gaethje wins then he deserves the credit 💯, of course we know we'll hear all the excuses but if he wins let's just give him the credit he deserves as Khabib wouldn't say he was ready if he wasn't.
    Either way after the fight both guys are going to have immense respect, it's a shame crowds aren't there because win or lose Khabib would get a standing ovation, it would be quite emotional.

      @robbiegloverofficial 4 года назад +1

      @a b Yep, Gaethje has a whole D-1 wrestling background which stylistically is good for Khabib's game, he's said a few times how you have to meet force with force as opposed to running back (which is where most opponents get caught and quickly wore down) as well as keeping it in the center of the cage, alongside the fact if Gaethje can do that while taking his legs out and stuffing his takedowns we could see a whole different fight here.
      I might write that book by the way.

    • @robbiegloverofficial
      @robbiegloverofficial 4 года назад

      @DTrey FloatGoat I think it's a lot more than a punchers chance with Gaethje but I hear you, they're both great guys so whoever wins it's gonna be absolutely fine either way 😊🙏🏼

      @robbiegloverofficial 4 года назад

      @DTrey FloatGoat that's what I mean, whether Gaethje wins or not, I have no idea but the chances of it and stylistically it's a good match up and the kind of tools a fighter needs to keep Khabib off of them.
      If Khabib wins the fight it's fair to say Khabib is the best lightweight in the world right now and if Justin wins then he absolutely should get the credit, for sure!! 🙏🏼😊

    I don't even consider it a "his father passed away" kind of thing personally. It really comes down to one thing. Just because you killed Jesse James, don't make you Jesse James. It was the same thing when Weidman beat Silva. It's an Incredible feat and you do Deserve credit, don't get me wrong. But beating somebody with an aura of invincibility doesn't then give you that aura. That isn't earned over one fight or even over a good streak. All just my opinion, which don't mean shit. Lakehouse 160 again, one of them was because of the Pandemic, this last was suppose to be for the official tittle and it got ruined and Tony Ferguson very stupidly took that fight even tho he wasnt suppose to and the other one was becase he got suspended because of the 229 aftermath ( he shouldve been stripped) and even with those still situations he has fought twice as much as Conor has since Nov 2016

      josean garcia I guess we just need to realize a lot of top fighters don’t get as many fights because their worth more and they have more to lose, Conor wanted to fight this year. He really did. Dana says no, wait for Khabib. Conor is Constantly personally accepting and calling out fights, but it’s not up to Conor, Papa Dana doesn’t wanna lose money.

    my belief is that khabib has been training, preparing and fighting without his dad for a while when his dad was unable to get a visa etc, so imo khabib is able to maintain this momentum as he has always done and use his team/trainers as he has always done, also imo khabibs muslim roots mean he will have undertaken the relevant rituals for his father funeral and grieving process and be able to move forward appropriately.

    I think Gaethje showed in the Ferguson fight that he has become a phenomenal fighter, he’s good at avoiding attacks and very good at landing his own. He wants to go out there and be the best him that he can be and hope he wins the fight. With his skill set vs khabib I think he has a very good chance of winning that fight, but it comes down to heart and khabib in my opinion has the biggest championship heart, his will to win will shine through, and with his dads death I think he’s only gonna be stronger. I hope it’s a great fight, but stopping khabib at this stage in his career just doesn’t seem that probable.

And honestly even if those factors did contribute to that, khabib is the type of person who would rather not hear that. He said it himself when he was fighting Dustin (or was it al?) because he couldn’t make weight for furgeson, that he was extremely sick and even hospitalized but did not want to mention this publicly unless he won the fight, because if he lost that would become an excuse and he doesn’t want to make excuses.
