+Wall Street Journal Does the Mobile Passport app work overseas for people coming from Mexico, Europe, Asia, or Australia?
What about if you have been on a cruise.... can you use it when you go thru customs at the Port when you get back after your cruise
if you use mobile passport do you still have to submit your passport to the agent if you are scanning your phone in front of the agent or do you just scan your phone and not have to go to the agent's desk in the re-ntry country ariport and how far in advance can you enter the info and submit it?
If u started filling out all the info while in plane mode , how come u have main photo like u at home? Is it smth to fill out prior to travel? Also does it replace my global entry? Or is it in addition?
Is there still a paid Plus version that allows you to store your info for future trips?
Do this app requires Internet at airport to use or if we can fill up info in the app before departure?

returning from Seoul to Seatac airport, that government app failed to load picture of my passport. Basically useless as it ran down battery on my phone. It took over four hours to clear customs as long queues of newcomers were continually led to the front of the line and processed while the rest of us waited for hours. Next time I'm going to claim asylum and jump the queue.
I am new to international travel. I have the Passport app, and TSA PreApproved. Do I first go through customs w/o my luggage with the app, then go pickup my baggage at the luggage pickup place from the plane, then go through customs again (so they can look through my luggage)? ALSO: Do I enter all the information (picture, Passport number ), before my trip so I will have it, or do it all at the airport. Not sure what they mean 4 hours it expires.
TSA precheck is for when you go to a US airport to depart. It makes checking into the airport faster.
The passport app helps in ARRIVING to the US from out of the country.
When you arrive to the US you go through customs before your luggage. (This is where you use the app). If they deem you suspicious they’ll guide you to luggage claim and inspect it separately.
If you pay for the app you can upload your passport info and it stays there. For the free version you have to add the information every time you travel. And it lasts 4 hours. Which means you have to add all the information right before landing (don’t need WiFi). And once you land you can connect to your data plan and submit the form and go to the designated line.
What if the battery died before scanning at luggage area? :D
Is this app only for us citizens? What about permanent residents?

Since you leaked this, all the lines have become significantly longer for MPC. I waited 45 min. in SFO.

Global Entry program might be an option.
What if one person is a us citizen and the spouse is a permanent resident, can they both go through MPC together?

The app does give an option to select as us permenant resident or us citizen so yes
does this work WITH the Global Entry?

lorderik237 I have global entry too.. GE is for sure your registered with CPB when you go to the kiosk. This app may fail or you lose your phone.. dead phone battery, No internet service and your on the back of the line with everybody else.. I'll use it as a back up that's all..but I'm keeping my GE.
Yes! This is in addition or supplement to Global entry. Using this app u don't have to fill out the paper form for customs. It gives u a receipt to ur phone. He said *all of this in this video*
I tried to use mobile passport yesterday. It gave me an error that the info didn’t match the info from my passport.. BOGUS!! I scanned the passport INTO the app, how in the WORLD could it not match?!?!?
With GE, you dont need to fill out your form. I go straight to the GE kiosk and fill it out there digitally, take the pic, and give the receipt to the CBP officer.
@@mcalisterhayes It scans it, but you always should check it and change it, if needed. With me, the scan for passport expiration was off by one day for whatever reason.
The last time government technology made my life easier was just now, I payed my phone bill online; remember the internet, yes it was US government tech: GPS also helps me almost every day, just to name a couple. Reporters shouldn't do satire, especially in these days, it will backfire badly.
