Had a bit of everything there Liam, well done. I do enjoy watching people suffer cold, wet, snow etc from the comfort of my living room 😂 Nice bit of kit too. I much prefer my Patagonia calcite jacket for rough weather than cycling specific gear. Good content, keep it up 👍
Great video Liam, amazing views. The commentary is brilliant. Love your perspective and what you are feeling at that moment. Editing is brilliant too, biking, then rains followed by silence where you stop followed by wind noise. For someone just landing on this video, would be good to get a summary of what you are planning to show with a map. Although you do, with a map it would be more visual.
Did you at any time become worried for your own survival? I was recently at 8500’ elevation in Utah on paved road when the temperature dropped and the rain, hail, and lightning/thunder was coming at me hard. Ended up being concerned about my safety and rode back down the hill to a turnout where I found a camping area with a covered pavillion. I was soaked and freezing! Got into warm camp clothes and got a ride down the mountain by a good samaritan. My rain jacket kept my core dry but the hail and rivers of water in the road soaked my pants and shoes. It was 72 degrees the whole way up the mountain and then instant bad weather. Had I not gotten wet I could’ve set up my tent and got warm and then continued on in the morning. Getting wet shoes was not a good idea that day. Btw, I ride in cargo pants and have flat pedal shoes. Enjoy your videos immensely.
Yeah there were a few times on the trip where it got a little hairy! Nearly running out of food and water, hail, rain, snow. Had it all. Just always tried to make sure I had a way to bail out if needed. Sounds like an interesting trip you had! Sorry to hear you had such bad weather.

Thanks Seano. Agree, the Calcite is a bit overkill for most cycling, bit when it's stormy and haily, it sure comes in handy!
