3 day 270km bikepacking adventure in the Yorkshire Dales
splendid bike vlog Liam, will find the road to the golf ball as looks a fab ride, plus gravel roads to Ribbleshead. Makes you want to get out.
What an experience! I wouldn't have fancied being there for that
Used to live there 23 years ago angel lands hurt lol
Very cool adventure
Ola from Grand Junction. I thought that looked like Onion Creek. It’s impassable in the spring. Thanks again for taking us along.
Thanks for the take along. The hike-a-bike sections looks like misery.
Inclement weather video berry, berry good good to me. Inclement weather clothes expensive!
Great video. What month was this?
This was 30th September/1st October I believe.
Did you at any time become worried for your own survival? I was recently at 8500’ elevation in Utah on paved road when the temperature dropped and the rain, hail, and lightning/thunder was coming at me hard. Ended up being concerned about my safety and rode back down the hill to a turnout where I found a camping area with a covered pavillion. I was soaked and freezing! Got into warm camp clothes and got a ride down the mountain by a good samaritan. My rain jacket kept my core dry but the hail and rivers of water in the road soaked my pants and shoes. It was 72 degrees the whole way up the mountain and then instant bad weather. Had I not gotten wet I could’ve set up my tent and got warm and then continued on in the morning. Getting wet shoes was not a good idea that day. Btw, I ride in cargo pants and have flat pedal shoes. Enjoy your videos immensely.
Yeah there were a few times on the trip where it got a little hairy! Nearly running out of food and water, hail, rain, snow. Had it all. Just always tried to make sure I had a way to bail out if needed. Sounds like an interesting trip you had! Sorry to hear you had such bad weather.
Thanks for the videos! God bless as you get back to work and life!
Thanks for sharing this glimpse into your adventure and into the Grand Canyon from a way I've never seen before. Cheers!
Awesome
I heard the Dewey bridge was destroyed by a kid playing with matches.
Oh wow, didn't know that!
@@LiamGarrison That is accurate.
It's so cool that your trip coincided with the Autumn colors in CO and snow and clear, crisp skies in Bryce, Zion and Cedar Breaks. Most important, you avoided the hoards and masses of tourists that frequent those parks during the Summer. Really enjoyed this series.
Thanks Dave! Glad you enjoyed the series. Was very lucky with the fall colours and the weather generally. Hope to do more trips like this in the future.
Have been binge watching your videos...very good content...i hope your channel grows very rapidly in the future. ..keep posting...
Thanks for watching! More adventures to come soon
Idiots leaving the campfire burning before they leave 😡🤬😡
Nice place to visit the Grand canyon and being on the bike it feels even better when you are touring around the perimeters. Definitely it was a good adventure and hopefully you will have many more in the US, Canada or Europe. Nice video well documented. Cheers.
Thanks. Hopefully more adventures to come soon!
I'll be there in a couple weeks. Cycling to the Canyon from Prescott and back. Can't wait!
Very nice! That should be a lovely scenic ride 😃
@@LiamGarrison after that I plan to head down to Patagonia, just SE of Tucson. Endless gravel roads to explore!
oh wow! what’s ur route? I was thinking about doin the same but from Tucson
What camera are you using? The picture is so clear and sharp.
Gopro hero 10 and Samsung galaxy s21 ultra!
Lovely video Can you ride through the Grand Canyon?
Thanks! Unfortunately not. You have to carry your bike if you want to cross from north rim to south rim. Some people bikepack the Arizona Trail which goes through it, and they disassemble their bike and put it on their back! You're not allowed to let the wheels touch the dirt.
@@LiamGarrison Very interesting because Komoot shows a route but it seemed unlikely based on what I remember when I was there a few years ago. Now I know you can't

Thanks for taking us along. Looking forward to your next adventure. A friend and I will be bicycling this May from San Jose to Denver. Should be an epic trip.
Glad you made it to the end in one piece! What’s your next adventure?
Thanks! Maybe a sailing trip next 😀
Fond though fuzzy memories of visiting Zion when quite young. This really makes me want to return!
I want to go back too!
Man, I look forward to your videos. They’re really well done.
Thanks Pat! Just posted the last one 😃
Good to see - did people in Utah understand your accent from the Small Island? :) We have been in that area often - most beautiful part of the US. Hope you can get to Monument V Valley as well
Agree, it's such a beautiful part! Haha yes they could understand me for the most part 😅
Amazing Scenery!!!
Thanks for the Koko video. It's a beautiful ride, but it makes you work from time to time. I've done it twice, but both times with support so I didn't have to haul all my gear. Glad you found water at Westwater - it's not something you can really count on. Can't wait for the next vid. Stay safe out there.
Thanks for watching Christopher! Great to hear you've done it a couple of times. I was certainly lucky to find water at westwater. The ranger said they'd put in a brand new pump there apparently which is cool.
You might have already done this but setting up your tyres to be tubeless really helps on these trips with punctures. A bike shop can do it for you if you don’t know how. Loving these videos, gives me itchy feet to plan my 2023 trip
As a matter of fact I got them converted to tubeless two weeks into the trip. Thanks for the tip though!
Looks spectacular .. always wanted to go there .. but not on a bike 🤣 Good to see still enjoying yourself . 👍
this is a lot of fun, love it
Thanks for following along!
That was some campsite on the ledge! Yikes!
It was quite the spot!
One of the best bikepacking videos on YT right now. Thanks for taking us along with you!
Thanks for coming along for the ride Pat!
I think this is your best video yet! Between the shots/editing. Very well done, it’s been awesome following your journey!
Thank you Andrew! Look forward to sharing more 😀
Haircut and a shave... nice!
I feel very cold without the beard!

I’ve really enjoyed your videos and I’m hoping for more. Keep up the good work.
Hi Pat, great to hear! Around 3/4 more to come for this trip! Just editing them now 😀
do you have to use sun screen? it looks so hot
Yes I put factor 50 on my arms legs and face most mornings unless it was cloudy
Where do you keep your bike while at hotels?
I keep it in the room every time. I opt for cheap motels because it allows me to wheel it in straight from the parking lot rather than through a lobby etc
I loved the REI clip - glad that you included that.
It's a great store! Much better than what we have in the UK
lol @8:15 🤣
I was REALLY hoping to see the Melanzana store in Leadville since you ended the last video there.... next video maybe?!? ;)
Unfortunately I didn't have an appointment to get into the store. Very exclusive place apparently!
r/bikepacking brought me here. Hello!
Hello, and welcome!
Nice work dude. I started with this video so looking forward to checking out the videos leading you to this. Looks like a hell of an adventure!
Thanks! It was quite a ride. Let me know what you think once you've watched more!
Great job . Friend 💗
How much time are you giving yourself for this epic adventure? And are you planning on riding the White Rim trail? State by state, this ride is AMAZING!!!
I've actually just finished the trip in Flagstaff yesterday! Was around 6 weeks overall from Boulder to Flagstaff. You can check out my full route here: web.locusmap.app/en/?shared_track=MGM3NjQxMTAtYTVhMy00MmViLTk2ZGEtNTA3YjVkZDBmYmI2OmZjZmQ4MGZiLTg3M2QtNGY1MC1iNWVhLTBlYmJmNWYzN2QwMw..&lat=50.343762&lng=14.458008&z=5
Didn't end up doing the white rim, as it was a bit out of the way, but if I'm back I'm Canyonlands it's definitely on my list to do!
We really enjoy following along. The scenery is incredible! Im actually surprised that in this day and age there aren’t more fences everywhere. I’m glad there aren’t 🙂
@@monikaplatt8574 it's very cool you can just walk up onto most of the arches!
Just subscribed. You are doing rides that are part of my bucket list! Definitely rides I will do in the future. I'm just getting into bike-packing, still need some equipment before I can go out into the wilderness, but slowly getting there. I, like you am new to recording everything on video, but look forward to doing it all soon. Like your videos, good job! You got the hang of it. Congrats!!!
Awesome to hear! Best of luck on your future adventures!
I haven't been over this pass yet but I'm familiar with the area. Nice job riding it!
Definitely one best suited to a mountain bike haha
Gorgeous work my friend, shots are great and beautifully presented the whole area!
Thanks!
Brilliant, Liam....looking forward to the next one 👍🏼
Glad you liked it!
@@LiamGarrison just wondering what your new tent is? 👍🏼
@@Rolliemoho it's a Big Anges Cooper Spur 2 man. They do have a bikepacking version with shorter poles but I didn't go for that because I didn't need it given I have my tent on the front of my handlebar bag
Awesome, well done 🎃👍🏼
Thanks! It was a tough day!
