I normally see Beyoncé as an entertainer (one of the most successful at that), someone who performs and sings with their audience in mind. This performance demands I see her as an artist, someone who expresses themselves without regard for an audience. It was beautiful to watch her let her love guide her singing. An incredible tribute.

Water, Halo, Heaven, XO, I Was Here... i now realize how much the subjects of death, legacy, the gift that is life and our loved ones are important to Beyonce and i love the ways she sings about it in those songs. She sang and dedicated performances of Halo to victims of terrorist attacks, natural disasters, celebrities passing away (Paul Walker, Whitney etc...) but this one really got me crying like a baby especially the last two lines where she changed the lyrics and was singing to Vanessa directly. Beyonce and Kobe met when Destiny's Child were 18-19 year olds and they remained close along the years. RIP Kobe and Gigi.

If he was innocent, why did he deny having “consensual intercourse” only to change his statement when evidence showed otherwise? If he was innocent, why apologise and admit he understood it was not consensual sex or pay her through settlement? Or have his legal team add in a clause to say the apology cannot be used against him? Note: this girl came from a wealthy family and asked for her name not to be leaked to the media but his legal team did. You sure the semen of 5 men was real and not manipulated by a legal team of a wealthy and powerful man?

Possibly my favorite rendition of "Halo" she's ever done. The instrumentation and arrangement was so beautiful, and her voice sounds as incredible as always.

With all respect for Kobe and his family, may they rest in peace. But I didn't realize until now how I miss Beyoncé in current music industry. I know The Gift was amazing, but I would really like her to release an album like her self titled one this year.
Unfortunately, due to ageism in our society, I don't think Beyonce will ever see the dizzying heights that she experienced in the early to mid '00. I say that based on overall sales from her last albums and the fact that she hasn't had a Billboard number one song since 2017 and that was with Ed Sheeran. Before that, her last number one song was Irreplaceable in 2006. All things considered, based on the number of songs on the Lion King soundtrack, it's safe to say that this is a Beyonce album, yet none of the songs hit the BB top 5 and songs are great. This should've been Beyonce's "Waiting To Exhale"! I believe if she'd done this soundtrack years earlier, it would've done great!

ChrisMarrin Beyoncé has always been in the music industry, she’s just not in the limelight as much because she changed her style of songs that aren’t everyone’s cups of tea. I personally prefer her I Am Sasha Fierce album and dislike all of her newer albums, and that’s the same for many many others.
So to bring it back to your comment: It’s definitely not ageism, more that white people find it difficult to connect to her music now (but the only important thing is that she’s more happy making the music she wants to these days which I would say is very evident).

Just a beautiful tribute. I’m a man and a Kobe fan. Thirty days later and this song, sung so beautifully made me break for the first time. I’ve never heard of this song before, however, I can see why this was his favorite. The romantic aspect, along with the fading of time, the lyrics capture so ironically.
