To summarize (3) items that need to be corrected in your video and/or your video notes: 1) In order to remove Edge as an administrator in the command prompt ... You forgot to mention the need to add a space between "cd" and the path we copied. The first time I tried this, I entered the copied path right after "cd" and got a message about incorrect syntax. I see from the remarks that others had the same problem. You might want to add this to your video notes? 2) For the Notepad file to block Edge from being automatically reinstalled ... You typed "dot reg" (.reg) and said this as you were typing it, but then you said "dash rge" (-rge) when you recapped that step. That is quite a different extension. You may want to add something in your notes about this (".reg", "All Files") in case someone misunderstands it? 3) In your video notes, you misspelled "uninstall" ... Excellent Video. The issue with Microsoft Edge, and Microsoft Edge Viewer, is after the POST (Power On Self Test), Microsoft Edge goes into Pre-Boot, and executes a code to "Run In Elevated State" (Otherwise known as "Run As Administrator). This gives Microsoft FULL CONTROL over your PC and the Edge Viewer allows them to see everything you are doing on your computer, and they can turn on the camera (without the light coming on, and activate the microphone to hear and see everything you do). Uninstall EDGE and EDGE VIEWER ASAP. There are many 'claims' that removing edge will "break windows 10 & 11" causing your system to not function. I removed it off my desktop and both laptops, and Windows works just fine.

Looks like Microsoft has taken measures to further prevent us from moving Edge. Can no longer get to cmd as administrator. And the file for Edge no longer opens up to access the rest of what you mentioned here. Do you have an updated video showing a new way to delete and prevent it from installing?
Anyway to revert this? I've tried some reverting it but it did not work. I'm not getting error messages after the failed win update, boot device not found. I can fix that with cmd, but it keeps coming back.
Just in case command prompt has disabled admin access. right click start go to "run" in the run program type "pgedit.msc" then click ok. that should pull up your "Local group policy editor" once there you will need to navigate to "User Configuration/Administrative templates/System" On the right hand side look for "prevent access to the command prompt" and double click that. A pop up window will appear. select "disabled" then click apply then ok and you should have access to your command prompt now.

Legend Mike, so easy to follow. I subscribed too!! I emailed my friends the link. I believe that Google get all the info from "share" just protecting them (maybe).
This is a fun fact. If Command Prompt is open and you want to exit out of it quickly. Just type "exit" and hit enter! | Also, A word opf Advice. on my Device, I have a Folder Called "Registry Sector" It's for holding onto custom registry sequences like the one you make. I recommend you make a Folder SPECIFICALLY for these Custom Registry Edits so you know where they are and that way you know what not to let others mess with. Granted I'm the only one who uses my laptop, but if you share your device with someone, well there you go.

Hi Mike. I used your tutorial to uninstall edge and block it from my pc and it was very very very effective!!! Thank you so much. But now I would like to install it and I was wondering if you can please help me to do that? Can you please make a vide to show how to do it? I would really really appreciate it a great deal. Thanks in advance.
Wow. Thank you. This video is absolutely brilliant. Got a new Win10 client system, and am trying to get to grips with it. I think my approach will be to block the MSEdge.exe executable running from GPO editor on the server. I was trying to block 'MicrosoftEdge.exe' but that must have been the executable name for the older/legacy version. But I'll certainly be rolling out that registry modification to all clients,to prevent it from updating at all.
Can I use this method to uninstall Edge (regular Version) AND Internet Explorer? I do not like either one and for some reason they run in the background every time I start my computer. I hate "forced" apps on my computer. My computer belongs to ME not Microsoft or any other company.
Eureka! Finally got rid of it! In case anyone else has this problem, encase path in single quotes, & enter. This gets you into installer. Then, instead of setup.exe type .\setup.exe, & then the rest of the command just as given. Problem may have to do with using powershell instead of command prompt...

On the right hand side look for "prevent access to the command prompt" and double click that. A pop up window will appear. select "disabled" then click apply then ok and you should have access to your command prompt now.

Great tips!
I have subscribed to you channel , thank you for your clarity and your information.
Your Presentation is the best I have experienced . I was surprised also when you used the Phonetic Alphabet, I always use that in Hong Kong but the locals don't understand it, so I have apple or dog etc . Thank you once again.
Thank you! Phonetic alphabet is left over from my military days, lol. You're welcome!
Very helpful video, thank you Sir

Thank you!!! Perfectly clear step-by-step instructions.
Glad it helped!
Wow.
You're welcome, glad to help!!
Great you explain it so easy that I thought I was doing python in different language in with the computer but I got it right exactly like you said
Thanks!! Glad to help!
thanks sir :D finally, i can open every type of browser file without asking which i want to use to open!!!! thnks sir :D
You're welcome!!
Mike you are awesome...Thanks for putting this information out there.
Can I use this method to uninstall Edge (regular Version) AND Internet Explorer? I do not like either one and for some reason they run in the background every time I start my computer. I hate "forced" apps on my computer. My computer belongs to ME not Microsoft or any other company.
Thankyou so much for making this video... U r the nice instructor.
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!
Its very helpful. Thank You so much. God bless you.
Thank you!
Eureka! Finally got rid of it!
In case anyone else has this problem, encase path in single quotes, & enter. This gets you into installer. Then, instead of setup.exe type .\setup.exe, & then the rest of the command just as given.
Problem may have to do with using powershell instead of command prompt...
Good tip with PowerShell. You would need the ".\" to run the setup application. That's a PowerShell thing
Thanks a lot!! you saved me from Edge finally :)
Glad I could help!
You're welcome!
You got a new sub. Very very useful tutorials
Much appreciated!
Is it safe to change the registry as you have shown. I Mean no risk is involved if we do exactly as you have shown. Please reply
Yes. Modifying the registry is safe as long as you are careful. This change will only block the automatic update to Edge Chromium.
