Beautiful Bruges. However, another European city that seems to exist purely for tourists. Thank god I visited Bruges when it had the atmosphere of a real place populated by residents rather than mass tourism.
Bruges is truly beautiful, no wonder it attracts so many visitors.
totally right, but it's the case everywhere now :s Very difficult finding an attractive spot that doesn't attract too many people... Last year we gambled on London early november, we were lucky (decent weather, no mega-crowds except in the British Museum).
In Belgium, there are smaller towns also worthy of visiting. Apparently Lier is considered a "mini-Bruges" and also reachable by train.
