the question of "how many fusion monsters can Jaden make?" can be answered by the japanese version of the graduation duel against Zane/Kaiser: "Judai, your potential is limitless" Also In Duel Monster and GX, without the context of the card game, the duels gives the impression that you can fuse cards as you want, and the duel disks generate the monsters based on what you used.

then again the rules varied as if you think about it jaden didnt even this deck it was kaiba and pegasus basicly and they knew how many basic heros there were with fusions
Also, at the time, there was no deck or extra deck limit so he could have just added more cards as the series went on. That's how we got stuff like the mischen impossible deck, also known as the deck with 2222 cards in the main and 222 cards in the extra.
The thing is, Jaden doesn’t use an Extra Deck. He uses a Fusion Deck, which at the time had no limit to the number of cards you could play. We have also seen characters in 5D’s literally create new Synchros midgame, so chances are that Jaden might be doing the same and coming up with fusions on the spot.
Personally I believe that Jaden does create his own fusion monsters, but only when he uses super poly, since it is the ultimate fusion spell it has been shown to create a new monster into existence depending of what the user requires and what materials are available. A good example is rainbow neos, when judai was fighting agaisnt the possesed Johan it was stated that in order to free him from yubel's control he needed to destroy the field spell and purify rainbow dragon, how did he do that? By using super poly and fusing the rainbow dark dragon with Neos into a monster that had its original abilities. It is very unlikely that Judai had the card in his fusion deck since Johan has the only copy in the world and it was made very recently, meaning that the monster literally came to be thanks to the power of super poly.
@@vonakakkola the point is create a new fusion which WOULD BE the dual fusion from that heros but... with randow hero monsters and with good effect and done

I absolutely love discussions like this. Fusion Summoning is my third favorite summoning mechanic, and the idea of Jaden being basically the modern era alchemist with all potential different combinations he could make appeals to my more analytical side. It does beg the question as to what Konami could make to fill in all those holes on the 2D chart. As Zane said, his possibilities are endless
"Fusion summoning is my third favorite" Hehe Forgive me but I'm thinking of the whole plot of ARC-V as you say that like "Which dimension are YOU from?" Still kind of wish they made all four dimensions fight on equal ground and had the Yu boys find a way to unify them all than doing the whole "Fusion > XYZ and Synchro is the ref" and kind of pretend Zexal didn't exist cause it was destroyed. Don't get me wrong I love Yuto to death, but the plot focusing on which summoning mechanic was best by making one objectively evil for no reason was odd. It wasn’t just an animanga rule. It was just how it was at the time to the point that someone brought a 2000+ deck to a tournament. With the limit being made in the first master rule during the synchro era
How about Fusion monsters that we don’t have or potential elemental hero’s fusions that we are missing, like a fusion between avian and clayman, or sparkman and burtsinatrix, and even more, the potential is endless
Ever since I've seen Daigusto Emeral (a combination of Gusto and Gem-Knight), I've always imagined that the Avian-Clayman fusion would look like that. Armored and heavy, but also winged and could probably fly.
I can see Avian having a lot of cool combos with winged themed heroes. Clayman being akin to a winged gargoyle, Sparkman being Stormbird themed Wingman, and Necroshade being maybe Vampire or Raven themed.
I don't think anime Jaden's extra deck should be mixed in with manga Jaden's extra deck. The manga has a totally different story from the anime with plot elements such as: 1. Jaden's E-HERO deck was given to him by a manga exclusive character named Koyo Hibiki. And a lot of the cards in this deck didn't show up in the anime, opening the gate for new E-HERO fusions such as Terra Firma, Inferno, and the six omni-HERO fusions. 2. Jaden modified the deck throughout the story, mainly adding in the Masked HEROes. 3. Similar to the Jaden vs Yugi duel in the anime, the GX manga had an epilogue-like story involving Jaden with Masked HEROes dueling Koyo Hibiki with E-HEROes. The story ends with Jaden summoning Contrast HERO Chaos (the ultimate Masked HERO monster that's technically not a Masked HERO) and Koyo Hibiki summoning Elemental HERO Core (the upgraded version of Terra Firma). And just like what happened to Neos and Slifer in the anime, the story ends with Chaos and Core facing each other with no declared winner. Also, a little bit of trivia: Absolute Zero is said to be Koyo Hibiki's "ultimate HERO." That's probably why in the OCG/TCG, its summoning requirements are a bit different and it's actually a lot easier to summon compared to the other omni-HEROes.

I like to believe that in the anime, at least in DM and GX, Fusion Monster cards are literally _created_ as a result of fusion, rather than needing a "fusion deck" which is just a byproduct of making the game work for plebs who don't live in the anime world. There are various examples and counterexamples, especially if you factor in how much of a mess original Duelist Kingdom was in terms of how the actual game is played. I don't think it's necessarily worth dissecting, but it is a fun headcanon.
I have always subscribed to this exact headcanon, and while some shows do show characters holding physical copies of their Extra Deck cards, I still prefer to think they just get manifested on the spot. Makes the whole world seem a little bit cooler and more fantastic.
You have scenes where both Yugi on DM and Jaden on GX look at their decks in a table, card for card, and we can see that the Fusions Cards exists. The animators always skipped the protagonist searching for the Fusion Card in the Fusion (Extra) Deck and we have to assume that they put the fusion card on the Duel Disk while the animation of both or more monster getting sucked into the Polymerization portal happens.
Duelist kingdom was literally written with the card game unfinished and being made. Battle city is when the writers finally had concrete rules to work with and season 0 the rules where even wilder then duelist kingdom. Keeping in mind that duel monsters was literally just a stand in for magic the gathering. Actually I'll eat my hat that makes it make more sense as early mtg could be straight up strange in some ways.
Imagine dark panthers nex version looking at your opponents hand and ed and then choosing 1 monster among them or monster they control to copy name and effect from.
4 Fusions I wished we got in the anime 1 Avian + Sparkman 2 Avian + Clayman 3 Sparkman + Burstinatrix 4 Avian + Sparkman + Clayman + Burstinatrix = Elemental Hero Grandmerge ATK 4200 DEF 4200 and keep the ability when this card destroys a monster it can be a different Elemental Hero Fusion Monster we should have gotten him instead of Electrum who only makes 4 duel appearances. 1 against Banner Debut , 1 against Kagemaru and 2 against X.
As a kid I always assumed there weren't actually Fusion Cards in the anime. Like... the game just kind of fused shit and you got what you got (don't ask me how it works outside of the holograms, because I don't even think the creators of the anime know), and that's how we got that Mammoth Graveyard / Blue Eyes fusion. So Jaiden doesn't have an extra deck, he just has the Heroes and the Poly.

Plus at the time the card game itself also did not have a limit of cards in the main and extra deck. With the limit only being made during the synchro era

Jaden is a ruthless card printing machine. He is so strong that he can creat new cards in his duels as he see fit. Like in the movie bonds beyond time he also created a new fusion
Bro, Yugi was literally drawing the one card that looked custom every time he'd be losing that's perfect for that exact situation. Jaden has his extra deck instead.
Technically, it’s said that Jaden could use the fusion monsters Astro used when he fighted against Zane, so it could go to the possible extra deck cards
oh, I would be curious to see how many fusion monsters Jaden could add to his current deck. I am still hoping for some missing fusions like Evil Hero Counterparts for Mariner or Steam Heater and misisng fusion combinations like Bladedge + Avian. Maybe Konami can make them worth using.
I'd like to think the powers of the Gentle Darkness and Neospace allow him to create any fusion monster he can imagine, warping reality to fool people into thinking they always existed
Fusion cards doesn't really seem to exist in the anime as every other card does. They only ever seem to appear on the duel disks when summoned. Like one of the fusion material cards turns into the card
Really fun video, next would it be possible to try get a 15 card fusion deck list over time (ie starts with the main hero fusions, then some are subbed out for the neos fusions, then more changes throughout later seasons). Would be an interesting one to see
They did make a retrain of neos wiseman that IS fusion so it counts (look there are multiple cards in duel monsters and GX that became links in TCG including (for some reason) defender of the labyrinth so it’s fair game)
The amazing thing about his deck is 2 key card. Super Poly and Neos, which is Neos can fusion with any GX ace card and Super Poly can create Omni Heroes.
In some old mechanics/rules in anime, primarily at Battle City, the Fusion Material would just stays on the field, just the hologram that got fused and becoming the Fusion monsters. Aside from that, maybe he just swapped some Fusions for others to try other Fusions with other E-HEROs or people called it "siding"
I think the first Tag Force Game and maybe the second too had a Fusion Deck of 30. Metamorphosis was not even at 0 in TF1 so you had extra options. In TF3 it was already called Extra Deck then because it has Synchro Monsters in it and this was still technically a GX Game covering the last season of GX.
I'm of the opinion that at least at that point in the universe there were not specific separate cards for the fusion monsters. They would simply come into existence whenever you got a fusion combo that was valid
I'd likely consider his extra deck to be at least double what's stated in this video. In this video we cover only cards wek now exist, but that chart of fusions shows how many likely other fusions exist but simply were never needed for any duel.
In the first season, he only used around 14 to 15 fuaion monsters. Each had specific requirements. However, as later seasons happened, his extra deck exploded.
I mean, didn't that ra yellow guy have like 4 decks, and often Jaiden opened booster packs in the show to get new cards, how many fusions did he use all in a single duel?

There's a skill in Duel Links that adds over 15ish elemental heroes fusion monster into your extra deck.
very informative video, really appreciated the chart for all the HEROs!
Anime never had a fusion deck, polymerisation would just fuse any two monsters into something new
4 Fusions I wished we got in the anime
1 Avian + Sparkman
2 Avian + Clayman
3 Sparkman + Burstinatrix
4 Avian + Sparkman + Clayman + Burstinatrix = Elemental Hero Grandmerge ATK 4200 DEF 4200 and keep the ability when this card destroys a monster it can be a different Elemental Hero Fusion Monster we should have gotten him instead of Electrum who only makes 4 duel appearances.
Its still so weird that hummigbird doesnt have a fusion with neos
How he dont have fusion woth neos?
Air neos i fusion of them
@@jakovstojkovic8851 It was only printed in one edition worldwide and twice in Japan. At the end of the first quarter of 2007 in TCG (Strike of Neos), at the end of 2006 in OCG (Strike of Neos) along with a second printing in a special edition (OCG exclusive) shortly after the launch in TCG and strangely at the beginning of 2008 in Korea (Strike of Neos) this being the last time it was printed.
@@brago900 but it again exist
@@jakovstojkovic8851 But for many it does not exist for practical purposes.
@@jakovstojkovic8851 it's a running joke in the community. Air neos hasn't been reprinted since it was released, and it's been absent in a ton of cards that should show it in the art. For example, instant contact is a reference to a frame in the 3rd japanese opening of GX, and it looks exactly the same as the image but with air neos completely gone
That's why ppl liked fusion including me
Polymerization+2+ monsters = strong
Jaden doesn't have an extra deck he has a Fusion Deck
In the anime they don't have the concept of 'extra deck' as we do in TCG, they can summon any appropriate fusion at any time if they have the materials.
Plus at the time the card game itself also did not have a limit of cards in the main and extra deck. With the limit only being made during the synchro era
Darkness Neosphere showing up slapped me, I did not think of that counting at all but it does
“Necro Shade and Wildheart make Necro-“ *AD PLAYS*
Nearly spat out my drink here.
He made the gx coordinate system with the 3 axis, props for the effort
Wish I we seen a Burstinatrix/Sparkman fusion
Back then it was in Yugioh and GX it was the fusion deck and it had no limit when Synchro Is when it became Extra Deck with a 15 limit
Love the presentation!
Burtinatrix and avian also does phoenix enforcer
Jaden is literally the king of fusions
supreme king*
Me:So how big is ur extra deck, Jaden?
Jaden:.....Yes
Darkness Neosphere feels like it should have a "This does not count as a "Neos" monster" clause
I think it was an accident.
I don’t think neosphere works for summoning divine neos. Could be wrong, but they usually use “neos” or elemental hero neos
@@vexzel5550darkness neospheres japanese name contains the same kanji as e hero neos
E・HERO ネオス
ダークネス・ネオスフィア
Thus does count as a "neos" monster for divine neos' summon.
@@nutkicker12 amazing. Though I imagine not intentional as it doesn’t have any good synergy in a neos or hero deck Lowl
@@vexzel5550 yeah. Its basically the samr case with Dark Jeroid, Magical Android, E-HERO Necroid Shaman, etc. technically being -roid monsters but have nothing to do or synergies with Roids (Expressroid being the only one that even interacts with non-machine roids)
I love your neo space background!!!
I appreciate your inclusion of Darkness Neoshere, the best Neos card
And after 20 years I collected all of them in different rarity 😍
Also, jaiden fused himself with a monster, so I don’t think there’s a limit to what he can fuse. If it exists, he can fuse it.
I've always just thought there is no extra deck in the anime, a little like how forbidden memories works but with poly
I was boutta mention uforoid fighter lol
Back when gx was on the air people used to play TONS of random fusions in the fusion deck for metamorphosis
Technically, it’s said that Jaden could use the fusion monsters Astro used when he fighted against Zane, so it could go to the possible extra deck cards
and the idea of the anime that every "normal" fusion of jaden has an inverted version too!
this was my thought exaclty! We should also discuss other protagoninsts too, that spammed a lot of extra deck monsters, more than 15 for sure...
Is that the oddball aura from runescape as the background for the oddball section on the video? Nice touch!
oh, I would be curious to see how many fusion monsters Jaden could add to his current deck.
Here’s to hoping they finish all the combinations. Always loved collecting the Ehero cards
New drinking game: Take a shot every time he says Neos wrong
Really fun video, next would it be possible to try get a 15 card fusion deck list over time (ie starts with the main hero fusions, then some are subbed out for the neos fusions, then more changes throughout later seasons). Would be an interesting one to see
This video reminds me of the first time I saw a skill in duel links that adds a crap ton of fusions to Jaden’s extra deck. Freaking scared me
Jaden took "extra deck" literally.
His extra deck just got bigger with new Evil Hero support
Some random Duel Academy guy: "Jaden, how much space does your Extra Deck have?"
Jaden: "Yes."
Im kinda surprised there was never a "shining" version for Inferno Wing, considering how Flamewing-Man and Phoenix-enforcer got this.
If the Supreme King arc went longer I imagine it would show up.
avian and burstinatrix also make the phoenix enforcer
You forgot one, Avian + TF2 Soldier = The Perfect Avian Killing Machine
Dont forget about the Alternate Heros Aster played
Watching this show before knowing the rules of the game I always wondered where he got his cards from
Slightly disappointed you didn't provide a 5 dimensional visualization as we expanded into even more axes.
I know they didn’t exist at the time, but there are 2 more Ultimate Crystal monsters. The two Pendulum monsters for that archetype.
I think the first Tag Force Game and maybe the second too had a Fusion Deck of 30. Metamorphosis was not even at 0 in TF1 so you had extra options. In TF3 it was already called Extra Deck then because it has Synchro Monsters in it and this was still technically a GX Game covering the last season of GX.
everyone knows that jaden has every fusion monster in the game in his extra deck
Ahhh Elemental Nails my favourite deck
I'm of the opinion that at least at that point in the universe there were not specific separate cards for the fusion monsters. They would simply come into existence whenever you got a fusion combo that was valid
yes the do
and when are we getting the yellow masked hero
I'd likely consider his extra deck to be at least double what's stated in this video. In this video we cover only cards wek now exist, but that chart of fusions shows how many likely other fusions exist but simply were never needed for any duel.
It’s really weird how many HERO combos never got used in the anime. I always felt like Sparkman and Burstinitrix would have had a cool fusion.
