    Nicely composed. Loved the intro with scenes and great music. Good mix of Landscapes, text, people shots IMHO. I don’t need talking in nature videos. Great job!

      Thank you. That is the approach we try/like to take on our hiking videos. Glad you liked it.

    Great camera work. Love the slow, smooth pans. The long, still shots allow the eyes to take in so much more as you linger. Also appreciate the lack of "chatter". It detracts from the awesome scenes. Nice transitions from scene to scene. I've been there and you did it justice. Thanks for a marvelous job. Maybe the best I've ever seen of that area.

    Excellent video. Really enjoyed hearing the sounds of nature, rather than distracting music or continual human voice. Beautiful country. Really enjoyed this.

      Thank you for your comments. You are right, the stormy and cloudy weather brought some great light for some of the video takes. It is not always like that. The Wallowas are always great regardless.

    I happily stumbled across your video. I live in Florida and take a 4-5 week western backpacking trip every year (JMT, Wind River, Utah). I had never heard of the Wallowa Mountains or Eagle Gap, but thanks to your video it is now on my list. I plan on adding it to my August-September 2023 backpacking itinerary. Beautiful scenery. Really great video. I appreciate that you let nature do all the talking.

      Thank you. I am sure you will enjoy backpacking the Wallowas. It was the first time hiking there for me as well and I really like them! Also, I am happy you noticed the spirit of my videos: having nature and the scenery do the talking...

    We planned on this trip when COVID hit, here we finally are end of 2023 and planning our Sept 2024 hike and looking at the Wallowa’s again and come across your video, just what we needed for the impetus to plan and get ready for this trip. Thank you so much. For sure the best video we have seen about this area thank you

    Loved it! Some amazing scenery, almost surreal! The frog, butterflies and the deer :)
    Wallow-Whitman- even the names of the lakes and the trails are poetic.

    Beautiful. Have seen a small bit of the Eagle Cap from a distance when visiting Baker and Halfway. From someone who used to hike and backpack but no longer can make those treks, this was a special treat to see through your camera lens.

      We are glad you enjoyed the Video! Our channel is mainly a "personal project" to record our hiking/backpacking, but one of the main reasons we decided to make it public is exactly the case you mentioned: to provide a good visual of the trails and landscapes to people who for any reason cannot hike out there. Thanks!

    Beautiful area captured very well. I backpacked there in 2017 - different route, but still summited Eagle Cap and explored the Basin Lakes area.

    So incredible! Thank you for sharing. I GOTTA get there in August (2024). Makes me think I need to slow down and spend extra time around glacier lake.

      Apologize for the late reply, I was out backpacking. Yes the area around Glacier Lake is certainly worth some extra time. It's beautiful. And camping at Glacier Lake is great too!

    Excellent job capturing your backpacking adventure! You perfectly highlighted this beautiful area. We were captivated by the scenery from beginning to end. Breathtaking! Appreciate the time and effort you put into filming, labeling the landforms and writing a detailed itinerary with notes in the description. Glad we found your channel! 👍

      Love hiking and backpacking, and love taking videos of those amazing places too. It is great to share with all who are interested, regardless to the fact that they would go hiking there or not. To me the beauty of the landscape has great value and the videos let you appreciate it again months and years after the hike.

    This is just so beautiful! Thank you for making the video. If I can ask two questions, 1) what is the season of the year you did the hike, 2) what online information did you use to ascertain the details of the hike? I live in Sandy and would love to start exploring eastern Oregon😊

      Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you. I did this hike in August 2022. Take a look at the description page of the video and you will find details about the itinerary, including daily mileage, camps, etc. You will also find the AllTrails map of the hike. I don't recall exactly what online information I used to prepare for the hike, certainly the AllTrails maps and some you tube videos, but I don't recall anything specific.

    Excellent video work. Looks like there's plenty of water available reducing the need for long water carrys. This is on my list for 2023. Is September a good month? (of course depending on weather) Reminds me of the Eastern Sierras

    • @TrailsOfWander
      @TrailsOfWander  2 года назад

      Thank you. This was my first backpacking trip in the Wallowas and I did not hike all areas but I would say water sources are plentiful, no need to carry lots of water. Also, I think September would be excellent for backpacking there.

      As a local. Yes Sept is good month. July is general the snow melt and bugs. But Aug, Sept, and Early Oct are great if the fire season works out. Snow is possible any month, but those 3 are best chance of a great adventure. Several videos, and im sure read as much as you like online on different trailheads. Enjoy.

    Ah as I read the hike notes, I see why I didnt see the Sacajawea scramble. Great job. Yea different TH on weekends are getting crowded by Eastern Oregon standards, but as you said, " but a small price to pay for the gorgeous landscape."

    • @TrailsOfWander
      @TrailsOfWander  2 года назад

      Thanks for your comments. The Sacajawea Peak summit will be for another time for me... An additional reason to go back to the Wallowas for more hiking.
