Thanks to your incredible reviews, I went with the HJC 90S Carbon. Superb helmet, so far. Very light on the head. You can really feel the difference with Shoei right next to it. Big weight difference.
Great question, you're right, the Sportmodular is the lightest modular helmet. However, the Sportmodular has been out for a long while and is probably near the end of its lifecycle and that's why we chose not to include it in this update. We dit include it in our first 'Lightest helmets' video from a couple months ago!
I am now on my second sportmodular (just bought it one month ago), and the main reason to choose it again was the low weight. I was not surprised to _not_ see it here, since it is not P/J homologated. That is, it is a flip-up helmet, but it is not legal to ride with the front lifted. This allows to remove some of the locking mechanism and make it more light. So, assuming that your modular category only has P/J homologated helmets, the sportmodular does not belong there ;-)
I am absolutely baffled why they call "racing" helmets the lighter helmets. Lighter helmet means comfier helmet. Imagine an individual with neck problems/pains wearing a 1.8 kg helmet vs a 1.1 kg helmet for 3 hours straight.
AGV K6S laughing in the corner😅
You guys doing great with all the data! Keep on going!!!
Agv K6s and scorpion xt9000 are around 1360 grams/3lbs good options for under $600
