The way enhypen never let's rumours make their image go bad, even if it means standing up for the company and clarifying things, they do it. If jungwon did smoke, he wouldn't have even mentioned anything, but he didn't want false rumours about him spreading cause that picture was clearly fake. Jake's itaewon case, jay and the burger place rumour, the company couldn't do anything so they had to speak up. Even jake apologised for drinking starbucks which he apparently got scolded on alot by the company. Enhypen stand their ground and aren't afraid to speak up, that's why engenes have so much trust in their words. What jungwon did was brave, knowing his company won't do shit. Well, this is my theory (long comment ahead): Anybody that knows a minimum of bodylanguage will have a strong sense that Jungwon lied in the video. But am not blaming him, probably his company forced him to do so, to avoid repeating the same story that happened to Seunghan. Besides that, the main reason i believe the rumors are true: nobody with more than 2 neurons would go all in blackmailing SM and the media without real material. If it was photoshop/IA, she (lets asume is a female) would have directly uploaded the videos and photos to the internet (just with pure malicious intention, to crate chaos), but what really happened probably was that a sasaeng (or an antifan/fan that was in the wrong moment at the wrong time) caught the idols meeting/dating, and took the oportunity to film them and, then, decided to blackmail. If my guess is true, SM/Hybe will pay her (probaby did it already) so she does not upload to the internet the rest of the material (she said she has more). Then, SM, Hybe, Winter and/or Jungwon will say to the public: "dating rumors are false and we will persue anyone that spread false rumors", to do damage control (SM and Jungwon already did this). The girl that got paid will keep her mouth shut because she got the money and probably had to sign a contract. BUT, if the videos are fake, we should expect SM sueing her. In that case we will have some news about that in the future, like what wonyoung did with that youtuber that spread false rumors about her and kand daniel, taehyun and other idols. My guess is that the meeting/dating really happened, and SM/Hybe did (or will) pay the girl, so from now we will hear crickets in the air and they will just wait for people to forget about the scandal. PD: to clarify, i think Its very sad that idols has to hide their relationships, like dating its a crime. The way enhypen never let's rumours make their image go bad, even if it means standing up for the company and clarifying things, they do it. If jungwon did smoke, he wouldn't have even mentioned anything, but he didn't want false rumours about him spreading cause that picture was clearly fake. Jake's itaewon case, jay and the burger place rumour, the company couldn't do anything so they had to speak up. Even jake apologised for drinking starbucks which he apparently got scolded on alot by the company. Well, this is my theory (long comment ahead):
Anybody that knows a minimum of bodylanguage will have a strong sense that Jungwon lied in the video. But am not blaming him, probably his company forced him to do so, to avoid repeating the same story that happened to Seunghan.
Besides that, the main reason i believe the rumors are true: nobody with more than 2 neurons would go all in blackmailing SM and the media without real material. If it was photoshop/IA, she (lets asume is a female) would have directly uploaded the videos and photos to the internet (just with pure malicious intention, to crate chaos), but what really happened probably was that a sasaeng (or an antifan/fan that was in the wrong moment at the wrong time) caught the idols meeting/dating, and took the oportunity to film them and, then, decided to blackmail.
If my guess is true, SM/Hybe will pay her (probaby did it already) so she does not upload to the internet the rest of the material (she said she has more). Then, SM, Hybe, Winter and/or Jungwon will say to the public: "dating rumors are false and we will persue anyone that spread false rumors", to do damage control (SM and Jungwon already did this). The girl that got paid will keep her mouth shut because she got the money and probably had to sign a contract.
BUT, if the videos are fake, we should expect SM sueing her. In that case we will have some news about that in the future, like what wonyoung did with that youtuber that spread false rumors about her and kand daniel, taehyun and other idols.
My guess is that the meeting/dating really happened, and SM/Hybe did (or will) pay the girl, so from now we will hear crickets in the air and they will just wait for people to forget about the scandal.
PD: to clarify, i think Its very sad that idols has to hide their relationships, like dating its a crime. They are humans too, but companys seems to be forced to do this tactics to protect the idols from boicots and cancellations from "fans".
Also, pay attention to the words chosen by Jungwon: "i am not dating RIGHT NOW".
