I live in oatman Arizona so when I was scrolling through your videos I was so surprised when I found this, you even caught my house in the background of a couple clips. now then I'll enlighten you on a few things about our town. the white dirt stuff you called a drought is called "tailings" and its part of the gold mining process and there is actually gold in it. the thing you thought was a sink hole was actually a mine shaft and there everywhere out here I find new ones all the time. the concrete ruins with the paining on it we call "the mural" and you made a good guess but unfortunately it was very wrong, it was actually where they had a bunch of milling equipment for gold mining and there is an other mine shaft right up the hill from it. the concrete ruins you found with the burnt wood was a mill for an other mine. the hotel actually was not the first hotel, the first one was called "the Arizona" and that leads me to the last thing. the mine you went in in the beginning of the video was not a real mind in fact it was a root cellar for the Arizona, basically it was a hole they dug to keep food and other things cold
hope this helped!
if you have any more questions fire away and I'll do my best to answer them for you!
And the rocks he called "brown stuff" was actually donkey turds
DJ L1ON Are there any stories of hauntings that you have heard of in your ghost town???
DJ L1ON if I were to metal detect there where would be a good spot??
@@katystarcher3363 hey I'm late but the hotel is said to be haunted by a ghost named "oddie" I worked there for a short time and it was sorta creepy being in the building by yourself after closing. There's defiantly a lot more ghost stories about the area as well
@@mikaelachavez1600 there's hundreds of old gold mines around the area I would maybe start there. Also old out houses are like a treasure chest if you can find them!
My nightly routine seems to be binge watching your videos. Even repeating some older ones. But seeing all these beautiful forgotten pieces of this world, is a nice experience.
+MeliZbeauty thank you so much. It means alot !!
+Exploring With Josh Awesome!!! Josh if you like views like that you should come to Romania on Transfăgărăşan
+Exploring With Josh I think that ruin on the hill might be an old bunker.
+Exploring With Josh and me too josh

Keep up the good work. Keep exploring Josh. You inspire me and many others.Love ya.
The drone clip at the end was everything. I love you. Exploring crew!!!!
HEY!!! look at that. I grew up in Oatman Az. lots of memories of that town.
the rock building is a watch post, it was used to keep a watch out for outlaws trying to rob the gold mines.
The town Oatman was named for the Oatman family massacre that happened when there were still hostile indians in the area. The only surviving girl, Olive Oatman, was taken in by the indians and treated as family. She grew up with them, and had her face tattooed like them. Eventually she was "rescued", but stated she'd been treated well.
Awesome story.. Thank you!!
Song is Sonder Saloon - Woods for those interested
"A man sooner or later discovers that he is the master-gardener of his soul, the director of his life."
- James Allen
Years ago before we had color tv there was program in black and white that was called Route 66, maybe you should look it up, it was based on Route 66, of course.
OMG you must of passed through Bullhead City and Fort Mohave! I live in this area!!
That final shot is gold !
josh, thank you for making all those videos. you have inspired me to finish my old 4x4 project to go out and explore this world
beautiful drone footage, when I went to layman there was like 20 donkeys. Great video guys keep up the great work and have fun
They are all over AZ........ Mines, donkeys, wild horses, rattle snakes.....
go to area 51 and make a video
Fuck yeah
YAS
+Samantha they should do that lol
Great idea
There is a point of no return they cannot cross. There is a boundary marked with a sign that says the Area 51 guards can shoot you if you cross it.
That ending drone shot is the best work you all have done so far. Stellar.
Ah so happy your visiting Arizona. You should go to a town called Tombstone Arizona. It is a pretty well known place down there with the people living around it. But it's beautiful and I just love it. I honestly miss Arizona a lot and seeing this just makes me want to book a ticket to Arizona right now. Even though the heat is Hell I would trade it for Virginia weather which is fucked up.
I've been there many And lots of abandoned places and its reel ly cool there's. Agh it's town and
They've been there.
You live in Virginia? I used to live there and I live in Arizona now. How funny
Yea I was in Phoenix for 20 years but just moved back to the Chicago area. Nothing beats Arizona's scenery.
Lorelei Taylor I lived in Phoenix for just 4 years but the things I miss most are the smell of orange blossoms and I can't think of the name of it but when you go for walks at night you can smell it really good. I wanted to go to Tombstone so many times! I heard there were a lot of old hippies that lived up there and bikers and being an old hippie myself it really sounded good. I miss it too, but I miss Montana more I think. I live in Texas which is where I was born and we have a lot of cool things here to investigate. I'll have to find out more information and let Josh know. Actually, Montana is full of ghost towns and there are some that are totally abandoned..
I got so excited when I saw you were in my state. I never even knew that town existed and I've been all over AZ.
Legend has it if your early enough he will respond
+Nissa Noelle but it's true
hehe
+Exploring With Josh o shit wuddup

Oatmen Arizona :) Near the Colorado river about an hour from Vegas! (in the middle of Kingman, Bullhead City, Havasue)

The scenes with the drone makes me crying, I don't know why but they are so moving and sad, hopeful and lonely !! Nice bro ! I love your videos !
I live in AZ that place is probably and old Indian home
that's what I was thinking
I live in Arizona, and thought the same
+Nando Gonzales one time I saw a family of donkeys
No, Native Americans use Adobe. I have Apache blood and my ancestors including my grandfather show me how to make house.
the quality just keeps getting better and better in these. well freaking done. your videos are beautiful and entertaining.

The final shot is to die for. Breathtaking.
Who else heard Route 66 and immediately thought of Overwatch? Just me? Ok.
Nope. I thought the same thing. Mostly the Thumbnail xD
+PyroBlitz Thanks lol
i thought of the movie Cars
ayyyyyyy Overwatch! lol. I know, I thought about McCree too. Just passin' by like, "Sup. It's High Noon. :|"
+Moonlightstrike Lol
Watching this video made me remember of some photos my mom has of us when my siblings and i were kids and on one i am on a donkey (if i'm not wrong) and couldn't stop thinking about how it really looks like the pictures from my mom until i realized it's the same place and it's near i was born and raised till i was 4.
Anyone else notice on the cover of the vid it says "glory hole"
That also means a mine full of gold.
Me
(the cover of the vid) is called a thumbnail, just so you know
hahah..
+Exploring With Mike yup lol
I always wonder why didn't i grow up in a small town in the desert like this I'd love it such a beautiful place
is anyone ignoring the fact that he took down the vlog about the chick he was "dating"
Maybe they broke up.... Or she didn't want to be on RUclips
But he didn't took down the photo of them kissing on Instagram strange.
+chloeaussiefrench no one was judging anyone I just asked a question 😂💯
Because everyone was being mean about her on the comments (mainly females so, jelousy most likely) Seriously the comments were all so cruel
i didn't notice but pretty much the next day he shared some thoughts about "mistakes being a part of life" lol. anyway i don't think it was all jealousy, there were many dudes just wanting to look out for him. it is the internet though, it's to be expected.
Amazing landscapes. I'm so glad you got the drone shots! Thanks.
Wicked ending shot too!
You are 2,000 feet above sea level, not in the air.
yeah he made a boo boo there
+Jordan Velazquex he always does hes an idiot
OXY ! Who cares tho I probably would too u can't say he is a idiot
+Jordan Velazquex he's a idiot
+OXY ! are you making millions from doing something you love? no, so hes clearly much less of an idiot than you.
That last scene w/ that awesome soundtrack was perfect! ^^
Anyone know the song he used it's amazing!
your ass
Another comment said "Sonder Saloon - Woods"
+MuffinToast 1 I can confirm this .
Out near Goodyear, AZ, just off of the I-10, there's an abandoned horse racing track called the Phoenix Trotting Park. It was abandoned back in 1966. Back in 1998, a Charlie/Martin Sheen movie was filmed there called No Code of Conduct. They filmed an explosion there which is said to have killed a lot of pigeons.
11 hours late
10:43 on wards looks like out of a movie, so pretty! They get such good shots with the drone
Thank you Josh/friends for bringing sites I'd otherwise would never see, to be enjoyed. The music you provide with the drone shots is also very tranquil, and soothing. Peace to you!
When I went through the town several years ago the donkeys stood right in the street and never moved. I was stuck at a stop for 15 minutes. Nice drone work at the end.
That last shot was incredible! Also great music choice. The quality of your channel has definitely been increasing recently! Don't stop any time soon.
That last shot with you guys on the rocks is gorgeous! Very cinematic.
The shot when the 4 of them were on those cliffs that was awesome♥♡♥
These videos are so amazing. I come home from work at 3 am and feel guilty if i go to bed before I watch it.
I loved this video ! the drone footage were beautiful !
That last drone shot was SICK AF!!!
oatman is a neat town, that drone footage was absolutely awesome. appreciate that
that old concret building with the iron studs sticking out of the door is where they keep the gold at in the old days :-)
Droneography is the newest piece of tech out there. It makes all the videos way better.
Love the last shoots,it looks so with you guy stand and sit on the rocks, beautiful
that ending drone shot with the crew was amazing!
10:43 This is an AMAZING shot! Very creative use of the drone in a spectacular landscape! Great video, thanks!
I hate to disappoint you guys..the drought area are mine taillings . It's what is left over after the gold has been extracted from the ore. You're lucky you didn't fall through! The building is the Oatman Murals, painted by a Vietnam vet 40+ years ago. The traders room..not quite, just part of the mine buildings. The other building is the Tom Reed mine. no fire up there, just shut down in the 1940's. I lived in Oatman for 6 years and had a tattoo studio there.
Arizona sunsets are beautiful. some days more than others.. shout out from Globe, Arizona!
Thanks so much! I've been there, cool little tourist town, but you showed so much more! The drone shots are the best. thanks again!
Wow that's some wicked footage with the drone...
That last shot with the drone was beautiful
Every time I go visit my grandparents in Vegas, they take me to Oatman & there's an old burial ground somewhere close by there. There were someones ashes in a soap box, & picture frame. & a whole boulder drawn on dedicated to whomever. It was really interesting & had a beautiful view.
i used to live literally an hour away from there:') have fun exploring!! you should go in the winter because it's in the mountains you'll see a little bit of snow and ice, it's beautiful!! thanks for posting I love your videos dearly💖
Damn Josh you gotta stop interrupting the great moments I get with the beautiful panoramas and relaxing music
So excited that you're exploring Arizona! Such a beautiful state but jeez the weather is complete hell
Oh my gosh that's like literally 30 minutes away from me I should have gone when you were there 😂
I love how the song goes so well with the scenery! It's so chilling! And the ending with y'all on the rocks is so badass! Y'all look like you're conquering the world!
Great video as always Josh! Hope everyone watching has an awesome day. To those who urban explore like me, keep it up. Live, explore and travel!
ive gone to this town a couple of times when i was a kid (my dad is a huge route 66 buff) and so seeing you go there was so cool! thanks for the video!
I thumbed up because of that shot at 10.44 😱😱😱 It was amazingly beautiful! So awesome! 👍👍
That "ruin" you visited was most definitely remnants of an old mill. I'm not exactly sure what the purpose of these mills were, but they were very common among larger mines. If you wanna see a picture of a mill like the one you saw, but in much better condition, look up "Kennecott mine Alaska". While the one you visited is MUCH smaller than the Kennecott Mine mill, it'll just give you an idea of what they looked like. Hope this helped.
I love that you tell us the history of the places you visit
best ending ever that over fly shot was insane 🙌
The last drone shot was spectacular.
Gerome, AZ is a pretty awesome town to visit as well.
Cinematography is amazing Josh, keep up the great work pal.
The music in this video was the best so far
kinda reminds me of "the hills have eyes"... creepy, yet beautiful!
I love how you say'mountains', sounds cool
The ending recording...speechless. Keep it Up Josh
Your areal shots are so captivating, so detailed, bout time the drone's back in action!!
that drone footage at the end was gorgeous. keep doing what you love 😊😃
the drone clip with the sun set was good
Cool video. Loving what the drone captures, especially the scene at the end where you guys are chillin' a top the rocks at sunset.
The beauty of some of your pictures amaze me. I find myself drawn to the old history and people that must have been in some of these places. You ask yourself when watching why did they just leave or what are they doing now. Great job keep up the good work Josh and I did vote for you. lol When you scare your own self silly that's the best.
"For the tourists who aren't used to this stuff... Its pretty cool."
Lmao - oh those commoners!
the last drone shot is epic!
10:52 loved that shot and the bg music amazing video josh keep it up
the last drone shot is amazing
Another quality video Josh. loving the drone shots over the ruins.
That last drone shot is amazing!!!! I'm a new subscriber n I've been watching your videos for a few days now. I'm addicted!!! Hooked on all your adventures!!!
The drone clip at the end is great
My grandparents used to live near oatman so I've been there a few times. It's a pretty cool place. Met a pretty chill donkey we named snoop dog.
Outstanding view at the end along with the music was perfect!!
I visited here on my first ever holiday way back in the early 2000’s. They do great buffalo burgers here!
