    Although Slovak rice aka tarhoňa does not come directly from Slovakia, it has become an integral part of Slovak cuisine. Its history is an example of how foods can spread and integrate into different cultures, enriching and expanding gastronomic horizons.
    INGREDIENTS:
    400 g of pasta/Slovak rice
    1 teaspoon / salt
    Water
    oil
    APPROACH:
    Dry Slovak rice is fried in a little oil until some of the grains start to turn brown. Then pour it with cold water so that the water level is approximately 1.5 cm above the rice. Add salt and simmer covered until semi-soft, stirring occasionally. Then we take it off the flame and leave it covered until it reaches the desired softness.
    It is an excellent accompaniment to meat, sauces or vegetables.
