Im glad that the Americans shown in this video were thankful and respectful of Tsuchiya's and the other guys' (apparently i dont watch enough bmi haha) opinions on their cars. For once in a while after watching other Americans behaviors I dont feel ashamed of my country, also nice tuning. I especially liked that they mixed pro-tuners with novices, that must have been a great experience for new tuners.
For anyone watching this video in the near future, the F20C Hachiroku @7:20 just went on sale for $42k!! The chassis is a clean zenki GTS non-sunroof hatchback (chassis had 124k miles when it was built) that has been carefully stich welded and professionally caged. The rear shock towers have been significantly reinforced and tied into the cage. The cage also ties into the floor pan and windshield surround. The transmission tunnel has been cut and boxed to better locate the engine and transmission to negate handling effects of the swap. The interior has been stripped, sound deadening removed, and all unnecessary wiring and accessories deleted to save weight. A complete authentic J-blood widebody kit has been fitted, including front bumper, front fenders, carbon drop vent hood, full fiberglass doors, side skirts, rear 1/4 flares properly molded onto the body, and fiberglass hatch with wing. CBY aero mirrors and JDM lights complete the exterior. Interior and engine bay are painted a metallic gray, while the exterior is a bright white. New seals and trim were used - the car is super clean, in fantastic shape and freshly ceramic coated - It looks as if it was built last month. The interior has two Bride x Cusco Zeta III seats on Garage Star seat rails. Schroth harnesses. Nardi deep corn steering wheel. AEM AFR gauge with EUGO wideband, Speedhut fuel level gauge, Greddy oil pressure and water temperature gauges with fan controller. Hydraulic handbrake and proportioning valve. ATL racing fuel cell. Racebred heel plates and T3 interior panels. The engine is a low mileage F20C (11k original miles on it) on TWM ITB's with carbon stacks and airbox. Custom Rywire engine harness paired with an AEM V2 EMS. Dyno tuned for 91 octane by Jei at Blacktrax. Billman timing chain tensioner. Huge custom Afco aluminum racing radiator with dual electric fans. Setrab 13row oil cooler on a Mocal thermostatic sandwich plate. Custom exhaust into an R33 Kakimoto muffler. Custom one-piece driveshaft. The rear end has a Cusco RS LSD with 4.7 gearing. True AE86 manual steering rack with power steering knuckles. The suspension is all Cusco race grade heim jointed pieces (not the cheaper rubber ones). Cusco front tension rods with braces, Cusco lower tubular control arms, Cusco heim jointed adjustable 4-links, Cusco heim jointed panhard rod. Cusco front and rear swar bars. Ueo Style outer tie rods. The shocks are Tokico HTS, with ground control front coilovers using Tein camber plates and Eibach race springs. Rear TRD springs. Wilwood front big brake kit with two-piece rotors. Stainless brake lines. New TE37V wheels with fresh Toyo R888R tires. The car is extremely clean and was built properly as an all out track car with the best parts. Ultralight weight with a high 9k RPM revving NA engine on ITB's with no driving aids makes for an extremely raw driving experience. It does still have all glass windows, including working door glass, and working headlights, turn signals, and windshield wiper. It can be driven on the street, but it is not for the faint hearted. losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/d/los-gatos-ae86-f20c-itb-driven-by/7235597740.html
how come there's no SRT4s, eagle talons, corvettes, or even a cobalt SS?... Im not saying these cars are touge masters but I would have liked to see a wider variety of cars instead of 20 different type of evos. Heck, even the American touge monster is a car that's only sold in Japan, very disappointing. Also I thought the NSX-R didn't have power steering fluid either. why is that so easy to drive around a track as compared to this NSX?
@ 15:45 Ye, that's getting it right, without spending ton of $$$ like so many ricers. So many liber art college student only THINK they know cars. Very surprising that MR does so well, despite it's engine placement.
Alot of people there lowered the car, slapped some rims and a body kit on, and call it a tuned car. It's kind of sad to see. I respect the enthusiasm, but alot of them just clearly don't understand proper tuning. Thankfully a few of the cars were done properly, so not all was lost, but this definitely made North America look like Bumfuck, Nowhereville when it comes to tuning. It's a shame more good examples weren't present. If they were to do this again, I'd love to show them a supra in action.
yea... I probably coulda done that better. sorry bout that, it's kinda hard to tell how it's being said from just text, so if I was a bit aggressive I apologise.
no... come on man, you have hot version vids on your channel, if I ment toe-gee I woulda put toe-gee, short e sound not long e man. the narrator is putting all of the emphasis on the "ge" part of touge as a result it sounds like toeGAAYYY, rather than TOUge, it's not that big a deal, it just sounds off if you've been watching more in Japanese than in english.

"i cant compete with these big dollar company's"
announcer-"up next we have a privately tuned evo"
that gt-r is a damn monster, you dont see a gt-r turning that well often, its supposed to be their weakness. This one has everything done correctly!

I wish all honda people had that exhaust note instead fart cans and weed whackers. That eg6 sounds good.
worst is most of them only do the fartcan and nothing else and really believe it is a racecar.
+Ethan Hensley If every Honda sounded like that would you really like it though? We all still get called ricers.
Are all your videos the English version??! If so you sir are the real MVP and this is the best channel lol
it really is the best channel
@35:15 "oh my gawd.....sayonara" lmao that is hilarious...
one think that i know from R34 GT-R is that it's hard to cornering at a very tight corner,
but this guy is beast!
57.52 That car is wicked old. I remember seeing it in magazines in like 2007
Thanks alot for the uploads enjoying it lots!
Hahaha the mini Cooper next up.
"the car looks cute but...."
Pride so hurt.. 😂😂😂
jus discovered this...thank you so much for the uploads!
Man, I was so hoping for the Top Setup EG6 to win the RX8...
LMMFAO at the chode with the miata!!!!!
my thought process: @ 1:11:43 "dont your dare put those fucking toy cars on that hood!...oh wait its a 300c...go ahead".
They were worried about the repair costs back then (NSX was 20-30k, R34 was 80k), imagine now...
They came to see the tuning level of American tuners.
This Hachiroku with the engine from the S2000 (F20C) is extremely fast in the corners
I know this comment is way old but it just went on sale for 42k! The full build is immaculate
Also im thoroughly stoked the rx8 won against Tsuchiya! I daily drive a stock 04 SE3P rx8 :D
57:58 , Hey that car is from Tokyo Drift ! :D
no that car you saw is the APR Evo 8 the one from Tokyo drift is the APR Evo 9 that's been converted to RWD
hahaha eric hsu was in jdm insider (: awhh i miss those dvds
I buy my tires from raceline !! Hell yeah
Some how close off the tail of the dragon, in NC. That be badass 318 turns in 11 miles..... lol
maybe there weren't that may entries from American car drivers? but that's true. American Togue with all Japanese cars seems a bit off.
Enjoyed watching this, 90 minutes went by fast. Question, why do americans have a right hand drive GT-R?
The GTR was only ever made in left hand drive.
The gtr was imported from Japan an was only made in right hand drive unlike the r35gtr that's made for all markets
Drives like a Boss
@23:40 Spugen sounds like Spoon + Mugen
how did that sr turbo 214 get a 1'06" with all that sliding..
I think the red evo is included on gran turismo right?
america needs a true touge course made specifically for these battles! that willow springs raceway doesnt cut it in my opinion.
TQ!!!

I Love sound of vtec @ 8500RPM ;-)
The american manufactured cars did very well....
1:04.19 I THINK THE GUY IN YELLOW IS NAMED CALVIN
i find the track way too wide :s
where did they get that skyline from??? 01:04:42
Motorex my friend, FBI shut it down.

i don't get the point...
why the goes a long trip to USA just to try a JAPAN car?????
listen to tsuchiya when he says touge, that's what I mean.
awsome tokyo drift evo but there beter cars out there but still cool
Well, that spugen was driven not so well...
The rear wing on the SW20 MR2 looked horrendous...
Is Eric Hsu slow?
does anyone know the song at 0:02:18 ?
All the Americans give their excuses when Kazama and tsuchiya give criticism
kazama threw most of the battle rounds...
ridge would be perfect
\
Where is an American car!?!?!?
yea... I probably coulda done that better. sorry bout that, it's kinda hard to tell how it's being said from just text, so if I was a bit aggressive I apologise.
*many...
GMR
won 3rd*

It's pronounced TOU-ge not toe-GAY, and ABSOLUTELY not "toogh"
Why did they bring so many cars that DON'T DRIFT, to a drifting contest? Clueless???? yet they are still very HAPPY with themselves...
this was never a drifting contest
damn americans. we dont show a lot of emotions, this show in japan is much more enjoyable.
The model is way too skinny.
This is probably the worst Touge in history. Cars are well rated to be below average. More so, below stock.
Too much drifting
