Hi! As someone who talks with the Vilous team, I want to inform y’all that merp is not a canonical sound, that term was proposed in provisional lore and promptly scrapped. It is just a meme invented by Boss Sergal, a member of the sergal community.

I pinned this just so people know when they click onto the video. I wasn't able to change that portion about the "merp" sound since I learned about it last second and assumed Zabu had it covered. Regardless, i'm glad people enjoyed the video!

I also wouldn’t be surprised if the creators of Sergals in the future eventually team up with an animation studio to produce a fully fledged out 2D animated series based on the original Sergals lore as there is quite a large investment opportunity there for the species creators! :)

Apparently, furries did initially spawn from conversations at science fiction conventions. People would just talk about the idea of fluffy anthropomorphic animals in science fiction, probably something like Larry Niven's Kzinti from his Known Space universe or something like Mark Stanley's Bowman's Wolf from his webcomic called "Freefall", & that eventually became it's own thing because more & more people would join to discuss the idea or something, & it just split off from science fiction somehow. It's pretty interesting.

Freefall came out LONG after the community began. I believe the first “Furry” convention was circa 1985-86. But I may be off by a few years.

Changed my fursona species to a sergal today. I had been a fox for 2 years but I wanted to know more about sergals and I found I love them. I am getting art for my new fersona commissioned now. People should not be afraid to adjust your fursona with time or else it will not grow with you as a person and become disconnected from you.

“Merp” is a Sergal sound. So kinda like how the word БЛИН is supposed to mean Pancake but it’s like a multi word and can be used as a clean version of Блядь, or “Fuck” in Russian.
Now I want to make a Sergal fursona. It’s really helpful that it’s completely open so I can add some of the things I want onto it! They are just so cute!!!!
Fun fact: average sergal head length leads to about 8 sergals per cheese wheel (obviously it could be more or less but that's average)

Today somebody post a meme with this animal, he told me it was a sergal, and I wanted to learn more about them, this was very interesting especially for somebody like me who don't know anything about that communoty
Making a segal was really fun for me. I made him a robot, but he's extremely peaceful (Despite having lasers and a bladed tail, they're for protection) I imagine he'd cheese wheel with any species just for the funsies

I first heard of Sergals when they came out on Second Life. Seemed like all my friends ( I only hung out in the furry sandboxes) had a Sergal avatar. They creeped me out at first (Their..."anatomy"...is weird af)....but I adore them now!

My fursona is called a "dauntless". these fursonas are born from two wolf fursonas, but they're only born 1% of the time.
They have a long, fluffy tail (about 5.1ft) and sharp teeth, but the rest of the body resembles a human being.
They can reach heights up to 7.5ft
They also can have varying personalities.
They are capable of using their tail like an extra arm to.
They also are extremely resilient even to artic like temperatures and their tail can act as a coat for others that can protect others from said temperatures.

I had sergals in Rimworld, best race I had next to Bio-humans a bunch of anthro species. Me and a sergal buddy got a long, ended up becoming drinking partners, and myself in game was greatly saddened w hen buddy was wiped out by Mechs. I hade a tomb for the people who passed, rather than just a simple grave yard.
