To be honest you don't have to tell your parents, everyone thinks you have to tell your parents eventually. If you want to tell your parents do it, if you are afraid to or really don't want to tell them just don't. But if you do, tell them what it's about. Do not tell them the bad things just tell them the good things about the fandom.

My Mother loves Furries! When we went to Comic con London ( On October 2018 Saturday) I saw ( and met ) a bunch of fursuiters! Even before that, I showed my Mum a video of a fursuit rolling in snow and she loved it! She said she wants one, and so I made her a fursona.
In germany, there arent much rich people and not much people can speak english. Means nearly no one knows what furries are. I will never meet a furry, where i know he/she is one. Also i never saw a Fursuit (except in Videos). xd
It told my dad I was a furry in July and after he looked into it, he believes it's just like any other type of interest like how people dress up as superheroes and Star Wars characters and all that but it's kind of different than that but whatever I guess lol I ain't complaining. At the pride parade this year I found a girl who looked to be about 16-18 and she was a furry She didn’t wear a full fursuit though, only the head, tail, and paws Her fursona was a pink and white fox I got to hug her and we talked I told her I was also a furry but I didn’t have my fursuit yet I’m getting one for Christmas and I’m going to bring it to the pride parade next June I hope to see her again! XD literally I told my mom I was in the fandom and a few days after that she asked me what I actually was, because I think she heard the sexual side or not and I explained that there is this part of the fandom nice and cute and then explain that there is a slight sexual side and I told her that I’m in the nice and cute side not the sexual to make sure she understands. I also told her the bad side that is where I may of said the sexual thing. She told one of her friends and they were like, “COOL DOES HE HAVE A FURSONA” and yea my mom accepts it and I’m happy 😃

I've seen some friends on discord do some weird things in group chats that is kinda nsfw even though they act kid friendly everywhere else so remember, even if you feel really comfortable with furries (I do) Remember to stay safe from potential chances for people to act different outside of public areas or servers
So true, that I haven't told my parents about my interest. So much here is very valid. I don't care how anyone thinks of me, but I currently lack funds to even think of moving out. Still, love my parents, family, and friends nonetheless. Even if none of them know my secrets.
I'm a relatively younger furry ( 13 ), and I remember showing my mom videos of Telephone and such. She thought it was all pretty interesting, actually. Then I finally got my fursuit, and she kinda fell in love with the concept of anthropomorphism and such. Not all parents are disapproving of the fandom, you just need to show them the good aspects before really telling them you're a furry. That's how it worked for me, at least.
I remember watching this video back when I went to TFF my mom didmt realize all the dark stuff the fandom had in it so she took me to the nearest convention, when I was at the convention she saw a ton of NSFW art and then my mom threw out all my art and the TAIL I bought from the convention, she thought of furries as "people who are bad and deserve to go to hell" cause she only focused on the bad part of the fandom after seeing the NSFW art at the convention after then I watched this video, and was crying and tweeted it all on twitter, I even tried reaching out to furry youtubers but got no replies hoping that they would try helping me, so then on I was off and on about it constantly drawing furries and what not, then I did some bad stuff, buying tails which then my mom found out and found them, throwing them away now I'm just out of it again but still clinging on to it a tiny bit, I dont know my future of being in this fandom, and what I'll do when I'm older but I am currently a 14 year old boy who is interested in the furry fandom

The only person in my family I know is against it is my cousin, my aunt and my parents actually love it and the fact that I'm in it. My father saw a picture of me with some fursuiters and at that time it was the first time he's heard of them but the only thing mistake he made with them is the name, he called them "fuzzies" of all things.

I was talking about furries to my dad once and he referred to them as a ‘problematic sub genre’ and I didn’t know what he meant by that until last night the topic of furries came up and my brother said the he might be a furry. My mom freaked out saying it was ‘inappropriate for kids’ and how we should never use that word or call ourselves furries. I was so confused and my mom pulled me into another room and said “do you really not know what a furry is?” I told her that a furry is a person who expresses an interest in anthropomorphic animals, and who often have fursonas and sometimes have fursuits reflecting their fursonas. I've seen some friends on discord do some weird things in group chats that is kinda nsfw even though they act kid friendly everywhere else so remember, even if you feel really comfortable with furries (I do) Remember to stay safe from potential chances for people to act different outside of public areas or servers

I'm a relatively younger furry ( 13 ), and I remember showing my mom videos of Telephone and such. She thought it was all pretty interesting, actually. Then I finally got my fursuit, and she kinda fell in love with the concept of anthropomorphism and such. Not all parents are disapproving of the fandom, you just need to show them the good aspects before really telling them you're a furry. That's how it worked for me, at least.
I remember watching this video back when I went to TFF my mom didmt realize all the dark stuff the fandom had in it so she took me to the nearest convention, when I was at the convention she saw a ton of NSFW art and then my mom threw out all my art and the TAIL I bought from the convention, she thought of furries as "people who are bad and deserve to go to hell" cause she only focused on the bad part of the fandom after seeing the NSFW art at the convention after then I watched this video, and was crying and tweeted it all on twitter, I even tried reaching out to furry youtubers but got no replies hoping that they would try helping me, so then on I was off and on about it constantly drawing furries and what not, then I did some bad stuff, buying tails which then my mom found out and found them, throwing them away now I'm just out of it again but still clinging on to it a tiny bit, I dont know my future of being in this fandom, and what I'll do when I'm older but I am currently a 14 year old boy who is interested in the furry fandom

The only person in my family I know is against it is my cousin, my aunt and my parents actually love it and the fact that I'm in it. My father saw a picture of me with some fursuiters and at that time it was the first time he's heard of them but the only thing mistake he made with them is the name, he called them "fuzzies" of all things.

I was talking about furries to my dad once and he referred to them as a ‘problematic sub genre’ and I didn’t know what he meant by that until last night the topic of furries came up and my brother said the he might be a furry. My mom freaked out saying it was ‘inappropriate for kids’ and how we should never use that word or call ourselves furries.

My father knows Im a furry, and watches videos of furries a couple times and see no problem with me being a furry. I told my dad that I am a furry and he severely beat me up and locked me in the basement. I managed to break the lock one night and in the morning he didn't even mention it. Hopefully he forgot it during one of his heavy drinking nights.

*_i told my mom I’m a young furry, she supports it... there’s just one thing she doesn’t understand, WHY fursuits are so expensive.. she kinda thinks it’s a waste of money but then she said I can do whatever I want with my money, so I’m saving up for a fursuit partial.
