You can create depth using the different sizes. BROADLEAF Broadleaves are wide, changes color with seasons, and look cute. Broadleaf L and FULL are wide, so it's easy to add a sense of density. Broadleaf S and M are neither wide nor tall, so they are better suited for the front of a building or road than adding density. CONIFER Conifers are tall, unchanging with seasons, and look cool. Compared to broadleaf trees, conifers are less wide, more tall. Without much width, none of the sizes are suitable for adding density. Mix them with broadleaves to add variety. Unlike with broadleaves, which can appear plain with overuse, you can spam conifers without it looking monotonous. S/M conifers can be used the same way as S/M broadleaves. PALM Palms are wider at the top, unchanging with seasons, and look poppy. Can be planted on the mainland if sand is placed. If you want to make a tropical or jungle themed island, try mixing them with the other trees. Sizes S and M have differing number of leaves, but similar height. Their trunks barely cover the sand beneath them. They are suited for areas that are fully covered in sand, unless the base is hidden by furniture or shrubs. Sizes L and FULL have trunks which are thick enough to hide the sand, so they can be planted anywhere without issue. STOPPING TREE GROWTH S/M/L trees can stop growing if saplings are planted next to them. Depending on the location, one can stop up to four trees from growing. You can plant the saplings behind trees and objects to hide them. TREE PLACEMENT Holes are good for planning where you want to plant trees. Replace some full sized trees with L sized trees for variety. Mind the proportion between tree types. When planting two kinds of trees, 3:1 is a good ratio for a natural balance. HORIZONTAL ROAD Trees should be planted in a jagged distribution. Plant more rows for density. Add construction, shrubs, flowers, cliffs to fill the background. Planting directly in front of the road will obscure the path. Large trees should be planted further from the road. You can break this rule occasionally to make it look natural. It can be made more natural by adding benches and flower beds in the open spaces. VERTICAL ROAD Treat corners like horizontal roads. Keep trees spaced from them. Try to break symmetry between the left and right sides. Plant taller trees as you go further up to avoid an oppressive tree line. FENCES AND SHRUBS Start with a basic fence border along the road. Break the fence along the way, fill the gaps with plants and furniture. Shrubs should also be planted jaggedly between trees for balance. LIMITED SPACE Even with one line of trees, they should be spaced unevenly so it will not be monotonous and oppressive. As before, smaller trees in front and larger trees in rear for vertical roads. If the vertical road is long, it's fine to repeat this pattern. Plant the trees towards the ends of a horizontal road if you want to take photos of the middle section. this is extremely helpful! if it werent for your translation i wouldnt have learned that you can use saplings to stop trees from growing to the next stage and thats such an important tip
one thing you didn't mention, you only can stop the growth of the tree by planting FRUIT, it will still grow if you plant cedar or hardwood tree sapling.

After watching this, I started rushing around to get some stunted trees into the forest and I just love it now. With everything else I added, it just feels more like an actual woodland now. Thanks for the great video.
Everytime when i watch Mozuku's design, i always want to decorate my island again. That's the reason why my island still has not been finished till now.
@@hahabearseathoney it have to be a fruit tree though. If you plant two normal trees next to each other, one will grow fully and not the other. But with a fruit tree next to your tree, both will stop growing!

... It is absolutely amazing that the trees sizes really change the ambiance. I realized from this video if I plant sugarcane in front of bamboo itll fix the fact I can see through the bottom. Perspective is the key to a beautiful forest.

サイズ気を付けて植えたところで、全て成長してしまいますよね？成長しきってない小さいサイズの木植える時は隣接するとこにフルーツの木を植えると成長止まるとありますが、バランス考えて植えた全部の木の隣にフルーツ植えたら、景観おかしくならないですか？
成長を止めたい段階でフルーツの木ではなく、苗もしくはフルーツ自体を隣接する場所に植えると成長が止まります
フルーツの苗を隠したい場合は木の後ろや、低木・お花・家具などで隠すと目立たなくなりますよ🙆🏻
