I am very thankful for you going out in the fields no matter how bad the conditions are and what time they are running because they won't wait on you to film. Thanks again
Thank you for watching. You are right there is no waiting around in farming. It is a race each season to keep up with these machines to get them all filmed.
@@bigtractorpower I can only imagine how much time and effort it takes to film videos, editing the videos and responding to all the comments you get, not to mention how much you have to travel to film all these farm's at each step in the process. Great videos bring more videos from western Kentucky really like the info Matt an u talk about when harvesting the crops on there farm I really enjoy watching the operation of all the equipment Matt thanks for the memories of reminding me of the farm life have grown up on one in Mississippi nothing as large as u guys farm Thanks for BTP u guys keep the videos coming cause I will b watching
I’m so amazed by the size of the machines. When I drove truck for my Uncle in the early 60s, the truck held 200 bushels. The little Ford pull type combine hopper held 20 bushels. It took a good part of the day to fill the truck. Now they harvest 400 bushels in about 15 minutes.
Very good explanation of the reason behind the reel speed. I agree 100% on reasoning! Most guys have their reels rotating way to fast and shatter a good deal of the pods before the cutter bar even reaches the plant.
Sure would trade some of our snow and rain for some their dry dusty doesn't seem to be a happy medium any where ! Having to run all that wheat straw through really adds a lot of material to get in that machine dry weather would be good for that ! Hard around here to just get the bean straw dry ! Thanks for the video!
Thanks, BTP for another fine harvest video. Matt sure makes the videos he's in more interesting with his explanations. It'd be nice if you could his name in the titles of the ones he's in. This is about the dustiest harvesting I've ever seen.
I throughly enjoy your videos. however I wish you would cover a TRIBINE combine that is now in production. The TRIBINE is one of the most interesting concepts that's come on the market lately.
It has to actually be bought and stuck out in a field before he can film one. Even at the most optimistic, this brand having no previous history, a first generation dealer network, no previous product reliability & maintenance part availability to go by, etc. It 'can' succeed - after all, Caterpillar really had to commit long term in spite of low sales before the Challenger tractors caught on as proven commodities, so it can be done(though, the Caterpillar brand still carried more cache to farmers than the brand new 'TriBine' does, but still...). It's just going to take an exceptional group of people with an exceptional product(it better match the technology of the major players AND their reliability and basic part availability, 1st generation product or not - farmers aren't risking their crop to be beta testers), smart decision making, and some luck for it to happen. Either way though, it's likely going to be a while before we really get to see these around.
@@buckhorncortez Never had a Gleaner, always ran Deere's. In fact I'm from the same area The farm featured in this video. The Gleaner pushes way less dust out of the feeder house because of the vacuum created by their rotor. Ask anyone who has operated one.
Deere has a feed accelerator in front of the rotor which causes back draft. I believe case and gleaner don’t have this. Which causes less dust out of the front.
Big Tractor Power any chance in the future you get some videos of the equipment while the tobacco crops are being grown and harvested? I grew up working in tobacco during the summer to make money to buy my school clothes for the upcoming school year.
Does this farm lease their Combines or purchase them? If they do lease them what are they responsible for when it comes to maintenance of a leased equipment?
@@iamatt568 so what you are saying is that they spray glyphosate on the GMO plants, then they feed this to the animals and we eat the animals, no wonder everyone is so sick!
I wonder why they aren’t using the “harvest smart” and combine advisor ? Especially harvest smart with the operation they run, keeping machine 100% @ capacity all the time.
@@chasesblog @ 7:09 ...... Harvest smart - OFF / Terrain Comp - OFF / Interactive combine adjust 2 - OFF ..... "Automation status - OFF " It says it at the top of the command center.
The reason we aren’t is because we run a “bean screen” as the sieve. Automation does not work when one of the components needed for adjustment is missing. I’m sure there is a fancy code to put into the diagnostic addresses to make it function but we just run them manually. Not a big deal.
95f ?? we're still waiting to get our 200 of flax off and we've been at -17c already, even the manure spreader beaters freeze up in the evenings. Yeah we found out the hard way the early MacDon 40ft flex the center feed drum fingers arent breakaway type, bent the timing shaft at the end of our soy.

24:20 you have some dedication to stand filming in the middle of that duststorm.
Great discussion between yourself and Matt.
This is an incredible set-up.
Great video btp. 👍👍

Just a little dusty lol.
Way to go Matt the dustbine driver.

Enjoyed the video. These are my favorites. Thanks
... can't wait for the 2020 s7 series combine.
Thanks BTP and Matt. Why do grain carts circle around to get the following combine? Why not stop and wait a few seconds then move over?

Sold about 500k worth of corn today in Farming Usa 2 about 6k bushels. I'm Planting corn this April with 32 rows planter. It's a game on the phone.
One more reason to get a Gleaner! Compare the dust coming out of the Deere feeder house vs the Gleaner video you posted recently. 🤣
You don't suppose that there could possibly be totally different harvesting conditions? Nah...you're just a Gleaner homer...

@@bigtractorpower hay can we have a little more red equipment!!, lol
Must be making money with all that equipment
Is there a video of the farm harvesting their tobacco?

Could you video sometime in the future of a combine harvesting candy corn 🌽 😁
The s790 seems to be a lot smoother than the 9250. Could be just the ground they are running on but there are plenty of videos showing the same thing
Are all of the GPS auto drivers connected together so the overlap matches and adapts or are the paths of each combine pre-determined?
All the combines are connected and run the same gps heading across the field to make 45 foot passes.
We went almost 2 months without rain. Were I live in East Tennessee!
I think we were in the same weather pattern.
It is dry for sure still a good video though
Better have some air filters handy.!!!
Does this farm lease their Combines or purchase them? If they do lease them what are they responsible for when it comes to maintenance of a leased equipment?
Do They use JD Infield to share orientation tracks?
Good video, what wqe could see with all the dust. lol
How do they clean the equipment after the harvest ? Could you do a video of that ?
What is that macdon dial on the side of the hydro What does that control?
I think it controls header speed.
Can you tell me what they spray on the beans?
We spray a herbicide a couple weeks after planting to suppress weeds. Then a later application of fungicide is sprayed to prevent disease.
@@iamatt568 so what you are saying is that they spray glyphosate on the GMO plants, then they feed this to the animals and we eat the animals, no wonder everyone is so sick!
We do not over apply glyphosate. It’s very expensive. We don’t want to spray, we have to. Also it’s sprayed before the beans are even developed.
✌️✌️✌️
Does Billy run a combine too
No he was planting wheat while the combines are going. He then goes to a ripper to start tillage behind the combines.
How often do they change air / all filters in this dusty enviroment?
They get blown out daily in these conditions.
If it ain't green... It ain't mean
Are the beep sounds universal or unique to JD?
O. S. Some of The beeping I’m sure is coming from the green star gps system as their known to beep a lot depending on what your doing.

a lot of farmers would wait till every green leaf fell off, myself, i go when the moisture is 15% ish ....it will drop every hour...get out there!!!!
