@evoceansailing I have a 2002 H356. So far my sailing has been in the lower Chesapeake bay. Always exciting to see someone fulfilling my dream. One day I hope to do some coastal sailing on the US east coast.
@@sailingin-tuitionwithchuck We love our 356 and love the adventures that we're getting to have onboard her 🩵 We're sure you'll get to sail the US east coast - anything is possible if you put your mind to it, best of luck!
Thank you. Obviously challenging. Were you helming because your autopilot is not up to rough weatger? I ask because i have bought a Malo 38 with a raymarine wheel attached autopilot which i suspect would only work in calm conditions. Best wishes. James
Hi James, Yes we opted to helm as our ST4000+ really doesn't like large swells from either stern quarter. It does cope for a while but can then quickly disengage, which in these conditions, is obviously not ideal. It's great as you say in calmer conditions, or even the livelier stuff forward of the beam, we use it most of the time but just need to be aware of its limitations. Hydrovane is on the wish list lol!
@@jcfgh Ahh thank you so much for your kind feedback, we're really pleased to hear that our blog is helping others! 🙏🏻 Best of luck with your new boat - Happy Sailing!

Thanks for that. I have read your passage account. Your accounts are really useful for other sailors and we appreciate your efforts. Thank you
