    This just proves that the feeling of speed is more than the actual motion. The charger rt 5.7 you said felt faster, and you thought it should because it had a v8. The numbers say a v6 camaro 0 to 60 is 5.1sec with automatic vs charger rt 0 to 60 is 6.4sec. It's still hard for people to associate V6 with power.

      100 Rental Cars I'm looking at a couple others still, but I'm leaning towards it. The main competition for me is the Subaru WRX but I can get the Camaro for less with more features. I won't be buying until the spring though.

    • @100RentalCars
      @100RentalCars  7 лет назад +1

      The Subaru WRX...I don't even know what that is. Let me look it up real quick...oooh that looks fun. I've never actually driven a Subaru so, selfishly, that's my pick. I want you to buy it and tell me all about it. Or better yet, post you're own review.

    • @xaninator

      Haha, I'm not really good at making videos, but there are already quite a few WRX reviews out there, I would get lost behind all the name brand review channels

    This is actually a 1LT with the RS package. The RS package is $2,000 and just adds stuff on the outside. Like those upgraded rims. I rented a 2017 Chevy Cruze LT with the RS package recently.

      @100RentalCars  7 лет назад

      +Disney Fan How do you know this stuff?!? Thanks Disney Fan. I honestly spent some time on Chevy's website, and Wikipedia page, but I couldn't find much on the "RS". But now I know. Seriously, thanks.

      @jeepguy95 7 лет назад +2

      Yup, just an appearance package... wish it offered a bit more for $2k, but the wheels are worth about $1k, so I guess it's a good deal. The Camaro I had from Avis last month had an MSRP of $32k.

    The Charger's trunk is not really very big considering the large size of the car. This V6 is plenty quick enough for the majority of drivers at 5 seconds to 60.

    • @vegasbab.y3740
      @vegasbab.y3740 3 года назад

      That chargers v6 only gets a 0-60 at 7.4 seconds. Fast for a Chevy Cruze! With only a 1.4 liter. But slow for a v6.

    Chevrolet has changed for the better with their newer models, so much more quality than before, the camaro is absolutely stunning. Happy you got something to make up for the mirage! I got my car on Thursday, no full size so I got a 2017 Chevy Equinox, I like it a lot! Over 600 miles so far and I don’t really want to give it back, glad to see that Chevy has given all of their cars likeability!

      100 Rental Cars Haha, I tried doing a review once years ago and I hated the way it turned out, I posted a 0-60 video on my channel instead. My two complaints were the transmission and the seats. I put almost 1000 miles on it over the course of 3 days, the seat was really making my neck and back hurt. The transmission was indecisive and tended to stay in low gears longer than it needed to, thus putting strain on the engine and a damper on the fuel economy. It was a 2017, so not the new design which I was actually happy with as I’m not a huge fan of the new one. I was given the option of a Ford F-150, Ford Escape or an Equinox so I took the equinox because I had never rented one before like the escape and I didn’t want the fuel economy of the f150. All in all I did enjoy my time with it and didn’t really want to return it today. If you get a chance definitely try one out, but you might be hard pressed to find one in enterprise because they’re being sold off quickly.

    I have a 2017 RS and the gages, instrument panel, infotainment center, environmental controls look nothing like what you're driving. Must be difference in option packages. Performance wise, I would guess your rental version is governed/controlled in some way. Try accelerating in touring mode and switch to Sport mode. If you can't immediately tell the difference then the computer must be hamstrung for rental purposes. I bought this hot little number for my very reserved, conservative driving wife. Obviously she doesn't need a SS. The 0-60 difference between the SS and the RS is 1 second. They also have adaptive driving learning. If the majority of driving is conservative it won't know what to do when you romp on it. If you push the pedal to the floor, I guarantee you it will MOVE and g-force you back in your seat. If you're renting a Camaro you likely have no need or justification for the SS upgrade...unless you just want to play. It all bottom lines in what you want but our RS gives Big Bang for our $$$.

    Very much identical (aside from my rental being yellow with a gray interior) to the one I had a few weeks ago in Indianapolis. It has an MSRP of around $32k. I loved the car, but visibility was a concern as compared to the Mustang I rented and drove last year. It is a beautiful and powerful car, though. I got it for under $200 for 3 days, because September is an "Off-Peak" time for rental car companies. Sound system could've been better, too, but it's still a nice, comfortable, powerful car! If you want to read my review of it, let me know, I can send it to you. :)

    When I bought my 2019 I nearly sent it back because of the visibility. It takes some getting used to and these cars are not for everybody. I kept and absolutely love mine enough for it to be my daily. I would not have kept it if I didnt have a 2nd car though.

    • @islandknight6105
      @islandknight6105 5 лет назад +1

      Side swipe accidents happen all the time in all types of cars. ... If the car “came up on him” that means the other car didn’t see him. ... I never saw any studies showing that the Camaro was involved in more accidents than other cars because of visibility.

      +AladdinSaneNYC I think you could say the same thing about most sports cars. They are fun to drive, but not really a smart purchase. Poor fuel economy, horrible depreciation, and not that safe. That being said, it is pretty fun to drive, and be seen, in the Camaro. It definitely turns some heads.
