This just proves that the feeling of speed is more than the actual motion. The charger rt 5.7 you said felt faster, and you thought it should because it had a v8. The numbers say a v6 camaro 0 to 60 is 5.1sec with automatic vs charger rt 0 to 60 is 6.4sec. It's still hard for people to associate V6 with power.
100 Rental Cars I'm looking at a couple others still, but I'm leaning towards it. The main competition for me is the Subaru WRX but I can get the Camaro for less with more features. I won't be buying until the spring though.
The Subaru WRX...I don't even know what that is. Let me look it up real quick...oooh that looks fun. I've never actually driven a Subaru so, selfishly, that's my pick. I want you to buy it and tell me all about it. Or better yet, post you're own review.
Haha, I'm not really good at making videos, but there are already quite a few WRX reviews out there, I would get lost behind all the name brand review channels
I had not gone that fast in a car in 27 years. 1990 BMW 750iL. I hit 145 mph and it was still pulling. Now that I think about it. That Bimmer only had 296 hp.
@@chickenmuffin If GM didn't want the car to do 138 mph. They would have put a limiter on it. People like you will buy a tow truck and not tow cars because you don't want to hurt it.
This is actually a 1LT with the RS package. The RS package is $2,000 and just adds stuff on the outside. Like those upgraded rims. I rented a 2017 Chevy Cruze LT with the RS package recently.
+Disney Fan How do you know this stuff?!? Thanks Disney Fan. I honestly spent some time on Chevy's website, and Wikipedia page, but I couldn't find much on the "RS". But now I know. Seriously, thanks.
Yup, just an appearance package... wish it offered a bit more for $2k, but the wheels are worth about $1k, so I guess it's a good deal. The Camaro I had from Avis last month had an MSRP of $32k.
The Charger's trunk is not really very big considering the large size of the car. This V6 is plenty quick enough for the majority of drivers at 5 seconds to 60.
Chevrolet has changed for the better with their newer models, so much more quality than before, the camaro is absolutely stunning. Happy you got something to make up for the mirage! I got my car on Thursday, no full size so I got a 2017 Chevy Equinox, I like it a lot! Over 600 miles so far and I don’t really want to give it back, glad to see that Chevy has given all of their cars likeability!
100 Rental Cars Haha, I tried doing a review once years ago and I hated the way it turned out, I posted a 0-60 video on my channel instead. My two complaints were the transmission and the seats. I put almost 1000 miles on it over the course of 3 days, the seat was really making my neck and back hurt. The transmission was indecisive and tended to stay in low gears longer than it needed to, thus putting strain on the engine and a damper on the fuel economy. It was a 2017, so not the new design which I was actually happy with as I’m not a huge fan of the new one. I was given the option of a Ford F-150, Ford Escape or an Equinox so I took the equinox because I had never rented one before like the escape and I didn’t want the fuel economy of the f150. All in all I did enjoy my time with it and didn’t really want to return it today. If you get a chance definitely try one out, but you might be hard pressed to find one in enterprise because they’re being sold off quickly.
2017 50th Anniversary 2LT RS v6. My Camaro is awesome. The only complaint I have is a check engine light is on and I have to see what that is all about. Other than that, a hot car.
Michael Born I have the same one in black with dual exhaust and it’s so fun to drive! With all the bells and whistles I’m not complaining!! 🙌🏼 I’m considering putting a performance intake on it - but that’s it lol
+Cheedee O. My videos are dope? That might be the coolest comment I've gotten yet. Thank you! And thanks for watching all my stuff. I hope the old videos weren't too painful. Especially the ones that had bad sound or lame music throughout. Anyway, thanks for the kind words. And please, don't hesitate to criticize a bit too. It helps! Cheers.
I agree with Cheedee...your vids ARE dynamite!!! When and if possible for you PLEASE review the 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage GT. Why? I trust your viewpont when reviewing vehicles, friend! Peace...♐
I have a 2017 RS and the gages, instrument panel, infotainment center, environmental controls look nothing like what you're driving. Must be difference in option packages. Performance wise, I would guess your rental version is governed/controlled in some way. Try accelerating in touring mode and switch to Sport mode. If you can't immediately tell the difference then the computer must be hamstrung for rental purposes. I bought this hot little number for my very reserved, conservative driving wife. Obviously she doesn't need a SS. The 0-60 difference between the SS and the RS is 1 second. They also have adaptive driving learning. If the majority of driving is conservative it won't know what to do when you romp on it. If you push the pedal to the floor, I guarantee you it will MOVE and g-force you back in your seat. If you're renting a Camaro you likely have no need or justification for the SS upgrade...unless you just want to play. It all bottom lines in what you want but our RS gives Big Bang for our $$$.
Very much identical (aside from my rental being yellow with a gray interior) to the one I had a few weeks ago in Indianapolis. It has an MSRP of around $32k. I loved the car, but visibility was a concern as compared to the Mustang I rented and drove last year. It is a beautiful and powerful car, though. I got it for under $200 for 3 days, because September is an "Off-Peak" time for rental car companies. Sound system could've been better, too, but it's still a nice, comfortable, powerful car! If you want to read my review of it, let me know, I can send it to you. :)
You couldn't tell the difference between sport and snow and ice mode.... you can't be serious. Sport shifts at higher revs also and has a bit different exhaust sound.
When I bought my 2019 I nearly sent it back because of the visibility. It takes some getting used to and these cars are not for everybody. I kept and absolutely love mine enough for it to be my daily. I would not have kept it if I didnt have a 2nd car though.
+Jonathan Díaz This. The Challenger is fun, but it's kinda hard to drive since it's so long. Plus, I just love how the Camaro looks. Put a better engine in it and I bet it's one of my all time favorites. How about you? Which one do you prefer?
100 Rental Cars that's one of the reasons I got a 2016 camaro. The challenger is nice, but it is big. Could be good though if you'll have people sitting in the back seats.
If your Mexican Chicano enough you can make more than 2 big suit cases fit back there trust me there is a way, if you just got to know how to manipulate it.
The visibility is a problem. My nephew had one, car came up on him on West Street in Manhattan.... he didn’t even see it. Bam.... right side destroyed.
Side swipe accidents happen all the time in all types of cars. ... If the car “came up on him” that means the other car didn’t see him. ... I never saw any studies showing that the Camaro was involved in more accidents than other cars because of visibility.
Why do I always have this feeling that a sophisticated person wouldn't be caught dead in a Camaro since it has a bad reputation of being driven by mullet wearing beer drinkers. Don't misunderstand, please! I dig the Camaro, but that feeling always makes yours truly shy away from this great vehicle. I know, my bad. Peace!
+AladdinSaneNYC I think you could say the same thing about most sports cars. They are fun to drive, but not really a smart purchase. Poor fuel economy, horrible depreciation, and not that safe. That being said, it is pretty fun to drive, and be seen, in the Camaro. It definitely turns some heads.
I have a 2017 Camaro RS and I have seat memory located on the drivers door, but on here you say its not standard on RS? also the dash on this Camaro is different to mine as my Camaro has 4 gauges between the speedo and rev counter oil pressure and volts gauge.....also the seat heating and cooling buttons are missing on this cars dash?? So, what model is this??
Michael Macluskie yes yours is the 2lt which also comes with the leather seats as well as like the seat warmers and digital display like the ss. This is the 1lt in the video. They are both v6s just different trim levels.
Tony E. No offence but I think you are confused somehow. I have a 3.6L V6. And the 2.0lt is not a V6 but is assisted by Turbo and is still flat as anything....A 1 Litre is not a V6.
7:26 This drives me fricken nuts. Putting my kid in and out hundreds of times and always adjusting that damn seat forward. That was a serious design fail.
+Colleen Rudder I don't know Colleen, this is a lot more work than I thought it would be. Maybe I'll take a short break? Then do another 100? What do YOU think I should do?

One of the best review videos for this car that I've seen. Everything seems to be the 1LE, SS or ZL1 and I can't afford any of those
Thanks Alex. I appreciate the kind words. Do you think you'll buy one soon?

I’m glad you touched on the visibility aspect, I found the same thing when tested one! A lot of reviews don’t touch on that, great video!
+GottaloveNJdrivers Thanks!
i didn't touch on that in my video because i didn't care. I could see out the front just fine at 138 mph.
Visibility isn’t too good out of a NASCAR vehicle either but they manage to stay in their lanes 😉

That chargers v6 only gets a 0-60 at 7.4 seconds. Fast for a Chevy Cruze! With only a 1.4 liter. But slow for a v6.

Very helpful as I’m hoping to move for a Camaro early 1st quarter of next year, hopefully a 2016,2017 v6 all depending on price of course.
0-60 times for the v6 Camaro and the v8 charger is the same.....
Yes the charger 5.7 hemi 0-60=5.2seconds ,the 3.6 Camaro 0-60=5.2 seconds same 0-60 and it also weights 700-800 pounds less
Sad sad sad

I would rather save fuel and keep the six cylinder. A nice supercharger to that v6 will embarrass the ss. Nice car.
