Being part of the American car culture, I've heard and seen a lot of outrageous stuff done or said about our cars. This video highlights some of the craziest things I've heard coming out of the mouths of folks that own Camaro V6s.
Note I am aware this video will offend some of you, that is not my intention! (I know Camaro V6s can sound good for example)

To all the offended v6 owners: I used to own a 2015 Mustang v6. I respect v6s. No where in the video do I say or imply owning a v6 sucks. They're great cars. Especially after 2010/2011+.
This video is EXAGGERATING and/or SATIRIZING what I've read in the RUclips comments section, forums, and visits to car meets. No harm intended. Just a playful video. I WILL eventually rip V8 guys. Calm down. If you get butthurt, sorry.

Giving a F what people think of me and any of my cars...
    1-- Work is too hard
    2-- Pay is too low
    I own a V6 Camaro w/manual because..
1-- I wanted something sporty that could get decent gas mileage
2-- My current line up of cars was aging (sold my Gen2 and Gen3 SHO)
3-- It seemed like a simple car, what the Datsun 240z was in the early 70s
Whatever you own, just enjoy it. Giving a F about what people think of you is for insecure people. Take a look around... Really secure people don't participate in corny behaviors like racism, classism, sexism etc etc etc.

I think 95% of V6 camaro, mustang, challenger owners are just casuals, and MAYBE 5% are at least somewhat interested in cars but are more worried about gas and insurance costs. But I have only met a handful of people who take their car for more than it is. Most v6 owners I've met know their car isn't the best, but they still like it. Only a select few low key don't like their v6 and hate on their better counterparts.

Faster doesn't always mean better, unless that's all that matters to you. I chose a 2016 2LT w/ GM performance mods (NPP, HD Cooling, Brembo brakes and performance suspension) with EVERY OPTION (non-convertible) over a basic 1SS for the same cost. If all that matters is speed then yes the 1SS hands down wins; but if you want a little luxury to go with the performance and killer looks, the loaded V6 was my answer. "Better" is subjective. Other than that, spot on pretty much.

That being said, now that I’ve driven my car for a little while and understand way better what I purchased, I’ll defend the v6. If you’re someone who’s all about speed and have the money to race and work on cars a lot, then a v8 is definitely for you. But for me, it’s way more logical to own a v6. I’m not someone who’s gonna race for money or even bring my car out to meets. I’m a causal guy who enjoys a beautiful looking new body Camaro. 335 hp is a good amount and without any work done, my 0-60 is 5.3 seconds flat on a good day. It’s not some grandma car but it’s also not a super car lol. Besides with a little bit of work and tuning, that car can push 400+ hp and get that 0-60 down into the 4 second range. Take pride in what you have and don’t let some internet troll convince you otherwise.

My wife and I both own 2014 Camaros. Hers is an RS, mine is an SS. We just ran one from a dig, and she stayed right next to me until 50mph. Her car is cosmetically superior to mine, but mine has lower miles. Both cars are auto cars, and both have @50K miles. I was truly surprised that she wanted to run them, and was equally happy we were neck and neck. My wife is an amazing woman (she bought me the SS for Xmas), and I couldn’t be more blessed to have her!! Anyways, her RS is beautiful, and immaculately taken care of just like mine. We could care less who drives which car when...we just give God the glory for allowing us to be blessed enough to own them!

Chris Creech says, "big-brake kits from Wilwood and Baer designed for the SS will also fit six-cylinder Camaros.
For maximum bang-for-the-buck, however, it’s tough to top the value that comes
from bolting a set of factory Brembos off of an SS onto a V-6 car. Chris
Creech scored a set of factory four-piston Brembo calipers, 14-inch rotors,
and lines from SLP for $250. This setup dwarfs the stock single-piston calipers
and 12.64-inch rotors by a large margin. “SLP was selling this kit as a take-off
package from an SS they converted to one of their ZL Camaro packages,” he reports.
“Everything bolted right up to the stock spindles. The difference in braking
performance between the SS brakes and the stock brakes is incredible.”
    What
    Omni Rider
Is referring to in "jive" is a "sleeper" car or the guy who called His V8 a V6. These cars like for example a 99-02 Formula Firebird that is heavily modded but looks like a V6 with a regular hood etc.

I neither own a Camaro or a Mustang. My preference is the Dodge Challenger. Before you think I'm gonna "Go-Off" on your Camaro, or people who own a Mustang, I just want to say that honestly, I am SO tired of the bad talk from company to company, bigger engines to smaller and vice-versa, etc, etc, etc... I just don't understand why people feel that making their purchase (or in cases of most commenters/trolls on the internet who don't own either car, and some not a car at all) justifies that they have the better car. I mean, unless you are still 10 years old, who cares? Enjoy what you drive and leave people be, even if their choice isn't your choice. If you're old enough to drive and own one of these cars, YOU ARE AN ADULT! Act like one and not a whiny little baby. Then again, I guess it's even common for adults...just look what's happening in politics. All I'm saying is, Grow Up and show some pride in yourself instead of trying to make others feel inferior.

To be frank, I got the 6th gen v6 camaro bc I like it. Ive had 5 liter fox body mustangs, also a 95 5 liter mustang, a few F body camaros (one LT1 & the other an LS1), and a 6 liter gto; I just didn't care about the v8 purist thing anymore. However, I specifically got the 6th gen and not the 5th because it's 335 hp stock, several hundred pounds lighter, and faster than the 5.7 liter hemi challenger and charger. I'm not hot rodding around pretending it's a v8, because it's more fun just enjoying what you have and not feeling the need to seek validation through others.
We all have different things & reasons that got us into cars; our dream cars are all different. That's what being an automotive enthusiast is; get what you like because YOU like it, not because others do. Because I promise you, there's always someone that's going to clown you, no matter what car that may be.

I have had 2 Camaro V6s in my time. Ugraded to a Mercedes AMG but I loved those Camaros. I personally chose the V6 cause I felt it was enough power for me. I special ordered the V6 and got it just how I wanted. And yes I spent 50k on it. Call me stupid but I truly think it looks better than the Mustang or the Challenger. If I thought a mustang looked nicer wouldn't I have just bought that? I love the Camaro V6. Nice looks and can still get to get to pretty decent speeds.

Only people who have never actually bought a car say that they can't understand why people buy a V6 ponycar. The extra $10,000+ that an SS costs adds roughly $200 to your monthly payment. If that is insignificant to you, I am happy for you. The cost of the V6 is what I was comfortable with and it runs just fine. The sound is the only thing I don't care for but I can live with it.

Plus the v8 is super torquey so it feels faster than it is. Chargers are cheap so it was only 6 grand. Id like to move into an SS camaro from your generation preferrably. Little faster, and handles far better.

Johnny Garcia yeah the old chargers only made 340hp unfortunately. But theyre still fun. Mine makes 370 but dodge is known for under rating their cars for insurance purposes. The 5.7L that came out with 370hp were only rated at that bcuz they didnt want the number over 400 cuz ppls insurance would go up. But if you dyno any 5.7 from 2009 and up it makes about 400.

I'm from Frisco and probably have seen you on the road before. I think the Camaro's are respectable and cool muscle cars. Gm is a good brand and they know what they are doing when making modern muscle cars appealing to the younger generation. I own a 1965 Blue Ford Mustang with a V8 289 engine swap and I love it. I think both new and old, Mustangs and Camaro's are all equally cool. People who call people out for "not being a v8" are just jealous or stupid; I have been called out because mine doesn't have original 289 badging, which is completely idiotic, because if you are enough of a Mustang fan to know that the car originally came with that badge, you should appreciate others cars for what they are, not for what they are lacking (like proper badging). If you see my car around Frisco, give me a honk!

let the hates hate. some guy may work hard for the V 6 while dàd bought the v8 for baby boy. why trash talk when you can respect . respect will get you farther in the long run. I do my homework as for the new Camaro it's basically a clone to the BMW 3 yes. It is based on the Cadillac ATS what goes after the BMW 3 . hold on that what it's make it a great car. The old Camaro went fast straight. The new one you can race track it. also remember economy car sales pay for sports car development so don't rip on some one if they drive one of those say thanks to them.

Ain't nothing wrong with a v6 when the mustang cane out it had a 6cyl, when the fox body came out there was a 4cyl and 6cyl as well as the 5.0. Who cares. Although I do prefer a v8 but v6 cars are fun

I know a guy who daily drives '65 mustang with a 6 cylinder. I actually jumpstarted the guy, (put a bit of V8 juice in his thirsty I6, because the battery was bad) but yeah, that little bastard is quick. My car is about the size of a modern sedan, despite being a 2-door, and it can take some pretty tight curves at 55mph (which, being a sedan-sized coupe with a V8, isn't half bad), so I can imagine what that little thing can do with that decently powerful (probably 220-ish horsepower if I would be caught guessing) I6. Probably take the same curves at 60mph or faster.

I like to consider myself a car guy. But being an independent college student with a full time job it's not exactly easy to buy and maintain an SS. I'm looking at a 2016 LT1. OK gas milage, 335hp, stylish looks and a nice exhaust note. (I genuinely like the way 6cyls sound) and insurance won't crush me. It's looking like a solid buy in my eyes. I love everything from mustangs to challengers to camaros. But in a closed entry level v6 market I'm leaning toward the camaro. The challenger actually seems like the v8 is a requirement. But these pony cars suit a 6 nicely I think. Look and sound nice too. I think a twin turbo or a cold air intake and an exhaust system will buff out that power craze. And be gracious on my wallet.

and unless you did some after market work to it to improve power, a number of people in modern i4 economy cars would be looking at you in the rear view mirror in the quarter mile. the 1980 camaro z28 is rated at a 0-60 in 8 seconds and a 16.1 quarter mile. Damn near every trim of Mazda 3 for example (the entry level Mazda) since 2014 has better 0-60 and quarter mile times than a stock 1980 Camaro z28.

Proud owner of a 2013 2LT RS! Didn't like it at first cause I was still a bit salty about arriving to the dealership one day after they sold the 2016 RT Challenger I wanted. But I ended up saving way more money getting the Camaro and the insurance on this vehicle is much more pocket friendly! Still get alot of compliments. I don't trip if anyone hates, the older V8 models from back in the day were once around the same horsepower as what the V6's are currently on 🤷🏾‍♂️ .. to each is own.

It's an Australian Holden with a different wrapper on it. The V6 has 325hp, I test drove one, impressive for a 6 banger. The v6 challenger with 305hp couldn't compete with it.

One of my friends got a v6 camaro right after the redesign came out. He isnt really a car person but just specifically likes cameros. His family had an old 60s generation. He had a 90s generation v6 for a while. So when the new one came out he had to have it. But since hes not really a car person, he wasnt about to drop another 20k or whatever for the SS version.
