As much as I love Pavarotti, this lady is the only one for me who knows how to nail it. She presents herself as a narrator, her entire body language screams as if she experiences these bittersweet moments between those two lovers. It is just utter perfection, the voice is so clear, so powerful and at the same time, it weighs you down. It is just a masterpiece, bravo.
I have to agree with you. Her performance is much better than Pavarotti's performance in Paris. He sings the song. Lara lives the song - we get to experience the intensity of the feelings because Lara feels them and uses her incredible talent and training to draw us into the moment. Was soll der ganze Streit. Unglaublichen Dank an Lucio Dalla.
This is the standard that any vocalist/actor/performer must hold her or himself up against. This is almost out of this world. She is outstanding. Love it love it❤

Lara Fabian has a voice from the heavens her voice is what what you listen to while driving a Lamborghini Countach... Unbelievable... Not to mention she's incredibly beautiful 😍❣️....
Her mother is italian, this is the reason of her perfect singing interpretation because italian language is very "musical" but difficult to learn for a stranger. Joining the fantastic song to her supreme voice and natural italian speaking, the result is obviously a masterpiece.
Oh my goodness, i just heard this song on the Olympics yesterday that one of the young girls skated to, i loved it & looked it up & i the singer sings it with such emotion it is so beautiful! Im so glad to hv heard it. I loved the language! Thanks for sharing this song!
so beautiful and cannot be rivalled its as close to perfect as anyone can get , her voice is amazing and has so much variety and depth , this singer is one of the greats and can hold your attention to every word she sings with so much feeling and emotion , i really think this is on a par if not better than Pavarotti or Lucio Dalla who wrote the song, they say i wikapeidia the woman in the song was his daughter ( Caruso) but cannot be as he died when she was one and a half years old , its a romantic interpretation of his final days , but never the less its a masterpeice and so beautifully sang by Lara
Thank you so much for this information, Martin s! I would that you listen to these words, which have haunted me for a number of months now, but these are the words I noted concerning Lara Fabian's rendition of Dalla's "Caruso," which had me asking questions such as this one I posted February 6th 2015, seeking anybody who could help me: "And again, Lara's lovely voice is hypnotic; her passion felt within the words of the music! I am not able to know dor sure, but I would love to have another who understands EXACTLY what is being said within the music of this language - Is it not Italian? - please give to me, exactly what is found within this language, as perfectly as possible, what is most assuredly going on within this piece of music. I feel within the presentations of Pavarroti and Lara Fabian, so much more is being said in the cadency of the music, than I am hearing within the English subtitles. Would someone able to pick out the true story from within the language being sung, please write the "hidden aspects of the music," in English as well, so that I am able to ascertain whether or not I am simply dreaming, or that there is a hidden message in the languages, that I am not hearing in the English, but surely throughout the music: would you please do this for me? I feel an overtone of actual death occurring in the music; either the death of the man singing to the woman with the green eyes, or the death of the woman with the green eyes, I do not know which one is dying: is this also being pushed forward in the language, and not being noted within the English subtitles? Or is it the awfulness of that which is not actual death, but possibly that which is greater than actual death, but a time of either of these, the one or the other, having to live life without the one that is dying able to live beside him/her any longer due to his/her death, and the one living, hating to have to do so - live without the other being there? Am I simply dreaming these thoughts, placing them there when they aren't there truly, using the imagination, or is this emplied within the song "Caruso," and I have no actual/historical understanding of the reason why I see these things in another language, being brought to my soul through the music? If you can understand that which I am saying, and can help me in English, please do. Maybe this is being seen and heard by all who love music - I do not know - however, it would be great to understand, finally, that I might put this all to sleep in the knowledge of its true story." And so thank you Martin, as her rendition of "Caruso," to my mind and heart, which are those of a musician - a vocalist and percussionist - brought forth in me feelings of actual death occurring, as you can read in the above! Your enlightenment of the reasons for the verbiage, now cause me great pain, as well as pleasure, in being able to discern through the music and the passion of Lara's presentation, a deeper quality in the music, that spoke to me of imminent death occurring, and I was able to even note the quality of death by saying: "I feel an overtone of actual death occurring in the music; either the death of the man singing to the woman with the green eyes, or the death of the woman with the green eyes, I do not know which one is dying: is this also being pushed forward in the language, and not being noted within the English subtitles? Or is it the awfulness of that which is not actual death, but possibly that which is greater than actual death, but a time of either of these, the one or the other, having to live life without the one that is dying able to live beside him/her any longer due to his/her death, and the one living, hating to have to do so - live without the other being there? Am I simply dreaming these thoughts, placing them there when they aren't there truly, using the imagination, or is this emplied within the song "Caruso," and I have no actual/historical understanding of the reason why I see these things in another language, being brought to my soul through the music?" Thank you for having answered me long before I made my predicament known on youtube! Now I may close the book on my dilemma, but this, even as I choose to open the book on Lara Fabian a good deal further!
As I listen to this lovely lady, I am entranced by the ardor and raw emotions she gives to this majestic piece of music! I am stunned in knowing there is but a woman and a piano telling this story. Lara is absolutely great!
Joel Gehrke Yes, she is awfully wondrous in her craft, a highly gifted songstress, who could set any piece aflame, and does so with a most delightful one, like 'Caruso,' expertly! Wow!
julian rodriguez Julian, there is always so much more can be said concerning such an artist; however, with Lara Fabian, she is so special, I have thought as is the case so often, less is more, dealing with this lady! I would love to attend a concert, and from the front row on the floor right before her, and hopefully among but a small group of fans. I could watch and listen to this performance, and remember it, forever.
***** She surely is, Marco! RUclips has so much excellent music there, there are days, especially when I am busy online, I will take the time to reminisce within youtube music files, some videos and others, audios. but that one amazing ingredient youtube has, is they have so very much for us to share from, among which Lara Fabian is surely one of the very best!
She is a colossus! All those years I thought it was a male tenor's song and she demonstrates that only a woman understands love this deeply. She lives the music and the meanings. While i appreciate the English translation I find myself wanting to hear her in the Italian and French language that I am unable to speak or understand. She grabs one by the heart and soul.
Caruso. This unique song of love and pain. Today, I heard for the first time this version. Wow! Standing ovations for her. With her great voice she tells the story and you can see and feel it. I'm very impressed! So great! 👏 🌹❤️

Lara Fabian has a voice from the heavens her voice is what what you listen to while driving a Lamborghini Countach... Unbelievable... Not to mention she's incredibly beautiful 😍❣️....
There is something about her singing in Italian. It's profoundly moving.
Her mother is italian, this is the reason of her perfect singing interpretation because italian language is very "musical" but difficult to learn for a stranger.
Joining the fantastic song to her supreme voice and natural italian speaking, the result is obviously a masterpiece.
She is perfect only in italian, frensh, english, spanish, portuguese, greek... and some other languages
She's profoundly moving no matter what language she sings in.
fantastic..
I’ve listened to so many renditions of this song and nobody comes close to the beauty and passion Lara brings. She is incredible.
Oh my goodness, i just heard this song on the Olympics yesterday that one of the young girls skated to, i loved it & looked it up & i the singer sings it with such emotion it is so beautiful! Im so glad to hv heard it. I loved the language! Thanks for sharing this song!
brobably the best version i ever heard. yeah might be her natural magnetism but still this version really stunned me
I only wish my Mum was alive to hear this. She would have adored Lara.
I think she can still listen & she sends you many hugs !.. ❤️😘🌹🌸
I hope Lara is still singing. That was powerful,a beautiful version. The English translation gives this masterpiece of a song another dimension.
so beautiful and cannot be rivalled its as close to perfect as anyone can get , her voice is amazing and has so much variety and depth , this singer is one of the greats and can hold your attention to every word she sings with so much feeling and emotion , i really think this is on a par if not better than Pavarotti or Lucio Dalla who wrote the song, they say i wikapeidia the woman in the song was his daughter ( Caruso) but cannot be as he died when she was one and a half years old , its a romantic interpretation of his final days , but never the less its a masterpeice and so beautifully sang by Lara
Thank you so much for this information, Martin s! I would that you listen to these words, which have haunted me for a number of months now, but these are the words I noted concerning Lara Fabian's rendition of Dalla's "Caruso," which had me asking questions such as this one I posted February 6th 2015, seeking anybody who could help me:
"And again, Lara's lovely voice is hypnotic; her passion felt within the words of the music!
Maybe this is being seen and heard by all who love music - I do not know - however, it would be great to understand, finally, that I might put this all to sleep in the knowledge of its true story."
And so thank you Martin, as her rendition of "Caruso," to my mind and heart, which are those of a musician - a vocalist and percussionist - brought forth in me feelings of actual death occurring, as you can read in the above! Your enlightenment of the reasons for the verbiage, now cause me great pain, as well as pleasure, in being able to discern through the music and the passion of Lara's presentation, a deeper quality in the music, that spoke to me of imminent death occurring, and I was able to even note the quality of death by saying:
"I feel an overtone of actual death occurring in the music; either the death of the man singing to the woman with the green eyes, or the death of the woman with the green eyes, I do not know which one is dying: is this also being pushed forward in the language, and not being noted within the English subtitles? Or is it the awfulness of that which is not actual death, but possibly that which is greater than actual death, but a time of either of these, the one or the other, having to live life without the one that is dying able to live beside him/her any longer due to his/her death, and the one living, hating to have to do so - live without the other being there? Am I simply dreaming these thoughts, placing them there when they aren't there truly, using the imagination, or is this emplied within the song "Caruso," and I have no actual/historical understanding of the reason why I see these things in another language, being brought to my soul through the music?"
Thank you for having answered me long before I made my predicament known on youtube! Now I may close the book on my dilemma, but this, even as I choose to open the book on Lara Fabian a good deal further!
This is the best rendition I`ve heard of Caruso - Lara Fabian is amazing!
No one could embody this song as she does. Perfect presentation
As I listen to this lovely lady, I am entranced by the ardor and raw emotions she gives to this majestic piece of music! I am stunned in knowing there is but a woman and a piano telling this story. Lara is absolutely great!
Jim Tilley I know it!
Joel Gehrke
Yes, she is awfully wondrous in her craft, a highly gifted songstress, who could set any piece aflame, and does so with a most delightful one, like 'Caruso,' expertly! Wow!
+Jim Tilley Yes indeed

Julian, there is always so much more can be said concerning such an artist; however, with Lara Fabian, she is so special, I have thought as is the case so often, less is more, dealing with this lady!
I would love to attend a concert, and from the front row on the floor right before her, and hopefully among but a small group of fans. I could watch and listen to this performance, and remember it, forever.
*****
She surely is, Marco! RUclips has so much excellent music there, there are days, especially when I am busy online, I will take the time to reminisce within youtube music files, some videos and others, audios. but that one amazing ingredient youtube has, is they have so very much for us to share from, among which Lara Fabian is surely one of the very best!
The great thing about this song is every artist that sings it tells a different pain stakingly beautiful story.
Beautiful interpretation of one of the best songs ever written
Omg ! This version, her story telling touches the inner parts of my hidden broken heart.💔💔💔💔
her voice is like Liquid Gold! .....
Caruso. This unique song of love and pain. Today, I heard for the first time this version. Wow! Standing ovations for her. With her great voice she tells the story and you can see and feel it. I'm very impressed! So great!
👏 🌹❤️
This is fantastic as she is singing from the heart and Lara’s voice is so sweet to hear.
There’s not many people out that I can say, “She just does it for me”. Gorgeous. Beautiful voice. Authentic expressions. Super sexy all the way around. She just NAILS this song. If you like this version, I highly recommend the version she did with David Foster. Absolutely perfect. Gives me goose bumps every single time.
Voz belíssima, interpretação inesquecível, faz a gente viajar no tempo...
Pavarotti n Fabian are two of my favorite rendition of Caruso. Emotionally beautiful..
This is just... jaw-dropping. Sounds so effortless, feels so utterly genuine. One of the most raw, powerful performances I've ever heard.
+SethBlizzard I agree, she gave her all here, her voice was TOP-NOTCH and this is one of the most stunning live performances I have ever heard
jak30341 ... I agree. As an FYI, check out her "Lara Fabian - Je T'aime - Live Concert - magyar forditassal" its from a live concert in Romania following the recent death of her boyfriend. Another amazing live performance from Lara, or should I say, her fans?!
B Adams It was at Paris and her boyfriend didnt die
Do you know how hard it is to find a song without knowing the words? But i found it now, perfection
13.6.2021. Back to view this incredible performance!! Just genius. I adore her.
Love and thanks from New Zealand.
