great review, but I have to disagree with the comments that the battery doesn't charge very quickly. I'd say that the charging rate seems faster than most other phones: 0-39% in 30 mins might not sound so good, but when you consider that it's a 4500Mah battery, that 39% is actually 1755Mah of juice. That would be 58.5% of the capacity of a 3000Mah battery, and believe that 50% in 30 minutes is considered a good benchmark to hit, and I'd certainly be happy with that. Been rocking my Redmi Note 8 Pro for well over two years now. Still great. Glass back is still in pristine condition too (because I use a jelly case) although the GG5 front has some scratches already if you look closely. The G90T is still very snappy in 2022, and this means newer models that use the Helio G95 or G96 will still be adequate, though you should get a phone with a faster chip and 5G these days if you can for better future-proofing. I plan to keep this phone for maybe a couple more years. Really no reason to replace it yet.

Macro lens with 2MP is useless trend on mid-range smartphone.
I think 2-10x telephoto lens much more useful.
but its gonna make the phone more expensive
Yup you can easily crop a macro pic from the main camera and get better results as pointed in the review
They should have put higher resolution Macro lens to make it more usefull.

My glass back broke after thorwing 4 times to a metal object so it broke.
But the front screen is still great.
@@hamzafsl7727 why did you throw your phone? Don't do that.

But with people im a very funny guy
This guy speaks like a dubbed anime character. Great video though, Redmi user here!
I just love listening to your tone man every time watch your phone reviews.. keep it up. Always has been a GSMarena fanboy here
This seems to me, better than the note 9 pro; both aesthetically and performance wise. BTW, I got both (8 and 9 pro).
Wish one do you recommend for me?
@@ElvisChibundu I'd still recommend the note 8 pro but it's up to you if you want a slightly bigger screen and if you think mediatek is still inferior to qualcomm.
Got it!
Xiaomi redmi 8 pro 64 GB.
Love it! 8 months in it.
Ordered one today for 180$ 6gb ram & 128 storage, forest green. :D
Been using this phone for 6 months now. No problems to report. Fully satisfied with my purchase. Idk what all the complaining's about.
Love your hair dude! No joke :)
Planning to use this phone 2-3 years its superb good
These budget phones are becoming better and better value. The hell with a flagship
U r totally right
currently £179 on Xiaomi's site. Worth the buy at this price?
It is amazing phone with helio G90T. Perfect features and impressive price
I'm still using it. Got mine in Apr 2020. It's better than Moto g60.
had my redmi note 7 for a while now love it =) ( non pro )
I too have... This is also good
Me tooo!!! and I love it 😘😘

Yea no need to buy new phone at least for 1 year. Xiaomi doing great job providing such a good specs and hardware at low cost
@@AbsoluteUNIT000 i normally keep my phones till they die but i took my Xiaomi mi max 2 out bush it fell out of my pocket and went into the creek LOL
my 8pro will be 4 years in December still kicking
Been using my Redmi Note 8 Pro for a month now and I love it! Although it's always the case with everyone when they get a new phone, Xiaomi simply gives you more for your money. Yeah i know everyone hates China these days but Xiaomi isn't funded by the CCP, unlike maybe Huawei who has close ties to them.
So yeah, lovin' my Note 8 Pro 128GB Global ROM version. Got it for just $210 shipped. And like GSMarena I got the Mineral Gray variant. It looks classy and stylistically has more staying power than the Green Forest variant, and the white looks a bit like it's more for the ladies.
Perfect timing to get a new phone too to help keep me happy during this quarantine period! 🙂
hi, I am thinking to buy that. are you satisfied with its camera?
@@mariaayu7686 it's mostly ok. The main 64MP sensor is ok but the macro is just so-so. The depth sensor makes sure pictures are clear and not misfocused, which in my experience is a common problem in my past phones especially if flash is turned off.
@@ronch550 is the phone heavy? My hand aches from holding heavy phones
@@ifeakintobi6042 for girls I suggest you get something lighter, especially if you have soft, gentle, girly hands. 😆
Just ordered mine today! Yup, so affordable yet the specs are superb! 64MP cam! I read all the reviews from people who bought it, all good! Happy customers! It’s 8.8 Sale and got the 128GB at P10,900 or USD222! Though it’s gonna be shipped from overseas so expect long waiting. Hope all will be well ‘til I get to hold it in my hands. Can’t wait!
The frame is plastic? I read / watch it multiple times in other reviews that the frame is aluminium. Which one is correct?
yeah it's metal from what i've heard
I got one for my father, and funny thing is, I cannot tell if it's metal or plastic by touching it. These manufacturers make very confusing material. Even it is plastic, the finish is not bad I can say that
@@xyzhou6207 thats good to hear. As long as it's sturdy, I don't care about plastic or metal
It is aluminum
Is this a phone worth buying instead of an iphone 7 in 2020? I am considering it- please let me know :)
Get the note 9 pro if you can, but this is still a solid choice
Gooffy Yt Thanks for the advice :)
Okay, so 114 hours in battery test 💪👍, that is more than expected...

I wish I could still buy Oneplus 5, Zenfone 4 pro, Xperia XZ1 or Nubia Red Magic. I had to settle for this, at least it's quite cheap. the smartphone lifecycle is ridiculously short
