After Mt KK, this was meant to be the "less challenging" hike of the year. No mountains are easy, but it's always made better with great company. Climb Indonesia made sure we could fully enjoy the climb worry-free yet still had tasty meals, decent pace and comfortable breaks to keep up the spirits. It seems that this trail is popular with locals, but I am glad we found time to visit. Having a cup of hot Tong Tji tea, while slumped in a camping chair amidst the fogginess has its own sense of calmness. The edelweiss meadow and the summit view were surprisingly better than expected. We had challenges finding recent information prior to the hike, but we hope our vlog gives you a good sense of the hike. Another one for the memories🙂
I feel so pampered by Climb Indonesia - not having to carry the heavy hiking equipment and not having to worry about going hungry haha. Would 10/10 do it again, for another mountain perhaps? 😚
Looks like you all had fun with lots of laughter. The steep slopes look really challenging. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Look forward to your summit video 🙂
Hi Toby! Yes, there were tons of laughter, amidst the sweat and muscle pain 😂, I guess that's how we try to make the best of every situation? Mount Gede is of a lower level of difficulty when compared to Mt. Kinabalu, but still challenging nonetheless, because of the consistent inclines we were climbing - virtually no flat ground for rest! But it appears to be a common hiking site for the locals, so it was all very interesting to observe. 😀
@juniuscheng Thanks for popping by and leaving a comment! 🤪 And yes, almost every footage I have of her is her smiling/laughing....I guess we must bring her a lot of joy! 🤣
@94vrcommodore Hi Gordon!! It was largely a hassle-free experience because our guide and chef from Climb Indonesia settled our camping equipment and meals for us. All we had to do was to carry our backpacks (personal stuff), water and focus on hiking! I felt like I was in a "luxurious" hike+camp trip 🤣
Hello! Thanks for watching our vlog & joining the @oheyjelly family! We're happy to know that you found the vlog informative. 😀 W.r.t. your question, I believe we lost internet connection after the 2nd pitstop. Every time we go camping, we'll assume there's no network at the mountains 😂. It's a good time to switch off & be with nature.
