I honestly believe the mutumbo trade was an error, yes he is a legend etc, but theo was a beast & much more athletic than mutumbo at that point in his career, in the playoffs against the lakers ratcliffe would've been better, he's faster & more active on offense too, getting alley hoops from ai etc, mutumbo was slow & could barely jump, he had good timing etc, but shaw man handled him just as much, the mutumbo trade was self sabotage, the 2001 76ers would've been better against the lakers in the finals with ratcliffe, bu they were scared of what worked all year long or was just trying to find that genius chess piece to push them over the edge, i dunno all i know is theo in the finals = more than just 1 win
Omar Groves Larry Brown had an up close & personal view of Mutumbo/Iverson in that All-Star Game. The East came back and won that game because of Marbury, Allen & Dikembe’s presence & rebounds. That gave him the bright idea to make the trade. Theo was crushed. It changed the chemistry that they had all year. I still don’t know if they beat that Laker team; trade or no trade🤷🏾♂️
@@brkjeff true, i think theo was more spy on his feet , faster, be able to run the break, did aieven throw 1 alley hoop to mutombo in the finals ?, having rethink it , i agree mutombo was an asset, shaq dominated more when he was on the bench
Man, I remember watching this game live. Was blown away. If you don't think he's at least top 7 at scoring for perimeter players, you're outta your mind. The way he was getting buckets at 5'11 is amazing. Dude averaged 33 one year. What lil guy done that? Come on, man.
He still amazes me shortest guy on the court but also the quickest running circles around everyone an dropping threes when he's not busy driving or hitting mid range.did he even miss one shot? He scored more than half there pointd
Besides Mckie who is inconsistent at times, AI was the only legitimate scorer. One of my all time favorite players next to Pierce, Pistol Pete, Earl Manigault, A.O.(And1), Isiah Thomas + Mahmoud Abdul Rauf;
I have never ever seen AI finish with his left. He was probably the most right-handed dominant player of all-time. You'd think somebody would've noticed than in the scouting report. I guess he was so quick he could get right before the defense. But it is still something I've noticed watching his career since Georgetown.
Watch the game against New York when he was playing for Denver he had 2 consecutive left handed lay ups. But yeah he was so good at initiating and evading contact at the same time he always finished with his right. In his case it's ironic that a right hand layup is considered unorthodox.
very far from accurate. from philly saw damn near every game now shooting with the left and moving left aint the same. A.I. moved to the left just as well as he did going right. actually shooting with the left wasnt needed to often cus he was quick agild enough to shoot with the right. youre statement is very uneducated. how many right hand player u see shooting left handed often? no many ever
Man A.I was a catalyst for wins. starts off with the Cavs smoking them early but A.I just turns things around. He gets it going, all of the sudden here come the blocks, here come the steals and we're rollin.
Iverson born too early in today's NBA Allen would avrg 45ppg easy with 20 f throws a game . Back then he was avrg 10 f throws a game and you could hold push and all still no one could stop him u all talking about curry but if iverson played in today's NBA he would be faster then westbrick and mid range game unstoppable, taking it in unstoppable he'd score 50 ppg every other game easy guaranteed !
In today's game, where teams practically roll out a red carpet to "defend" the key...good luck stopping him with the floor spacing and no big men to foul him to the floor
Theo Ratliff should have been the DPOY. Mutombo was no longer close to this level of production and this team would've beat the Lakers with Ratliff healthy.
That was basket ball for real block shots nice d as well deep how these old games people still watch them them block's nice then shooting a littlie team play helps blick party thats what had me stop and say hey this is good 8 ,00 in the am 2022 well before football later today cool
God, this guy is good! No other players keeps me on the edge of my seat like AI and MJ did
Off mj deeeeuck
Allen was the best player in the NBA in 2001.
Such an outstanding game... *2000s were the years for the NBA*...
I seriously miss the blocks of Theo Ratliff
pennyccw His injury and then the trade for Mutombo were deadly for the Finals months later. Theo>Dikembe

allen iverson was cold back in the day yet some people say he sucks when he carried this sorry 76ers team back in 2001
dont you mean 2001
just kidding
It's team ball people gotta remember
I can’t think of anybody who was colder than his dude besides Jordan...Allen would tear yo ass up. Lil dude too
My all time favorite shot blocker THEO RATLIFF!

Cavs bandwagon fans don't even know these players in cavs jersey but they do know Allen Iverson
He still amazes me shortest guy on the court but also the quickest running circles around everyone an dropping threes when he's not busy driving or hitting mid range.did he even miss one shot? He scored more than half there pointd
i love Simmons and Embiid. Barkley and Dr. J.....but no one got you off your seat like Iverson in philly
Embiid does

When they close in on his right, he simply faded to the right more and would somehow scoop or hook it in with great success too.

ive noticed that too ..

Inevitable. God given talent. Hashtag #3 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love that they have the Cavs broadcast. Michael Reghi.

🐐
17 years later, I'm still wondering why they traded Ratliff away. He was more athletic than Deke & Lead the league in blocks. 😒
He got injured didn't he? And the sixers wanted to win that year instead of wait for him to recover
Didnt matter, Shaq was bullying any and everybody 💯💯💯
@@jjaytroche123 he would've been in trouble with ratliffs speed
Thanks penny u think u can upload some HQ iverson when he was on the nuggets/pistons?

Yea cause they gotta about three teams now worth anything
In today's game, where teams practically roll out a red carpet to "defend" the key...good luck stopping him with the floor spacing and no big men to foul him to the floor
Allen iverson is the best
Am I the only one that realizes how different his jumper looked after 2001/2002?
