I know this song wasn't intended as a tribute but it's a fantastic one none the less
I have been playing this song at least once a day for several months. Pomplamoose mashups are insanely well thought out and executed and this is the standout one for me so far... everyone has a spotlight and you can just see the joy on their faces
It's a fascinating coincidence just how much Bill Withers's music has been in the world's collective consciousness lately. RIP.

"Lovely Day" is ALL about that bassline, and your man murdered it, particularly in the vamp, the last half, really, those smooth, cool phrases and little licks were butter butter butter!

This doesn't even feel like a mashup, just a great song!! Backup Singers were killing it!!
Not sure which element of the mashup that makes this as smooth as butter. Maybe it’s the prefect mash of Lizzo’s song with Bill Withers’s Lovely Day, or the fact that the lyrics of both songs complement each other, or the arrangement of the song with the strings jiving with the funk, or Nataly’s lush voice playing a call & response game with the two background vocalists who definitely did a splendid job.
Or maybe it’s all of them? Either way this song is on repeat on my Apple Music!

I absolutely love this beyond words. Lovely day always holds a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my late nan. I first remember lovely day being played in her house on TV in the UK for the PG Tips Adverts back in the early 90's and hearing this version takes me right back. I love the original lovely day but this feels so much more mellow and current. Thank you so much for doing this. Also big shout out to Ted Lasso who introduced me to this version.
