      So do you have to tap into the reverse wire as well in to new unit or you just taped video positive and negative wire only ?

    • @caraudiotoronto
      @caraudiotoronto  5 лет назад +2

      Yes you need to trigger the reveres wire on the new radio unit you use to allow the unit screen to change to the reverse camera mode.

      I didn't see where you guys tapped it in to the units reverse wire was that in a different location

      @@rekoking2561 We show in the video the reverse wire as gray wire in the same connector 3:03 minute in the video. Depend on your camera wire some has a spare power wire to allow extending the reverse from the rear to front and vice-versa you can also tap in the back of the vehicle or on one of the kick panels (need to check based on your vehicle information)

    I tried and tried and I can not get my radio to connect with the camera Sucks that you can’t see the exact wires that were used

    Just about to do this with my venza in the next few days. To clarify, im fine having the image on both screens, so I don't need to mess with the reverse wire at all. Just tap into the positive and ground of the camera, and the reverse detection and power of the camera will be handled by the module in the upper screen? Then the head unit will detect the camera has been powered on? Thank you!

    • @caraudiotoronto
      @caraudiotoronto  4 года назад

      There is no wire harness that is why we show in this video how to hardwired the camera

    Is this also worked for Highlander ( think same head unit)?

  • @cindygrills3932

    So one minor thing he doesn't mention is that you have to tap into the gray wire to the reverse wire on your aftermarket radio so the unit knows to switch to the backup camera. Otherwise, the wires he points out in this video works with a new aftermarket unit.

      Hi. Sorry I did not do a video on the actual connection. When we have one we will post it but the install is fairly simple, you can call our office and ask for me (Ron) and I can try to help you over the phone. www.carsystemsinstallation.ca/contacts/
