Well her rider was Queen Alysane the greatest Queen in Westeros history who was just about everything good. Sweet, charming, considerate, intelligent, compassionate, assertive etc…. Silverwing and Vermithor the dragons to the best couple of Targaryen royals
So, she now has SEVEN ready dragons. Rhaenyra has Syrax, Jace has Vermax, Balea has Moondancer, Daemon has Caraxes, Addam has Seasmoke, Hugh has Vermithor, and Ulf has Silverwing. And maybe the show will have Rhaena get Sheepstealer. That's a whole lot of dragons!

Vhagar wanted the smoke but Aemond knew better. Also the master of whisper has failed. All these rumors about the Queen enrolling potential bastards to her caused to leave the city on a ship, and he knew nothing, or did he just let it happen to stick it to Aemond???
I think Larys does not like Aemond and sees him for what he is. He also didn't want to get the information wrong either. But it turns out the rumors were true.
The alicent scene gave me major ophelia vibes, which I feel is more fitting considering the parallels between them. This whole episode felt very Shakespearian to me.
Syrax and Seasmoke on that beach looked amazing as well as the final shot with Rhaenyra standing there. Silverwing might be my favorite new design. Mysaria making a mistake about trusting lowborns.
I don’t think Tesserion will have blue fire, but it would be cool if she did. In the books all the dragons flames match their scales. So Drogon had black and red flames etc etc.
Top three scenes: 1: Scorpion Man wins over Vermithor 2: Rhaenyra with all her dragons behind her 3: When Rhaenyra stands on the dragon ledge and in perfect high valerian confidently calls Vermithor, the way she deals with that whole dragon exchange
I liked the juxtaposition of Rhaenyra losing people (the valyrian dragon trainers) and gaining others to her cause. Is that good or bad? 🤔 We shall see.

I thought it was way cool and super heroic when Hugh called Vermithor's attention away from that woman who was hiding behind the rock with him just as Vermithor was about to cook her up medium rare and swallow her down. Clearly Vermithor was holding out for an ethical rider with balls, a pretty rare combination in this medieval world.
I feel like the dragons pick based on their personality. Vermithor is brave and strong so he picked Hugh. Silverwing seemed kinda playful and clown like, which is very much like Ulf. I also thought he went to Kings Landing to lure out Aemond and Vhagar.
I don't really understand Jace's argument. All of the dragonseeds have Targaryen blood. It's not randos off the street claiming dragons. You're bloodline is still 'special'

I didn’t get the idea of Alicent being the Lady of the Lake at all. For me, that scene of her walking through the woods, the field of flowers, and then swimming in the lake was giving STRONG Ophelia vibes. And I think that was on purpose, since she said she didn’t even know if she was going to return to the citadel. But when she saw the bird flying high above her, she had some sort of revelation and had a renewed sense of drive.
Wait if they're not doing the Battle of the Gullet this season, wtf could possibly be the season finale? The trailer for it absolutely previews a battle!

That’s the thing that it’s still Targaryens being picked by the dragons. It’s just that the laws and institutions of the nobility do not recognize certain people as proper family despite the fact that some are direct lineage of Targaryens. Privilege and ideas are all that separate these common folk from those recognized as noble, by biological relations they are of the same family and blood. If Targs didn’t want to spread the ability to bond with dragons they should’ve kept it in their pants. Imagine all the dragon bloods left by Valyrian dragon lords in Essos

I don’t get the reasoning behind Jace’s worries about his claim to the throne as Rhaenyra’s heir. Yes, while there are other bastards with dragons, Jace is still: 1) Rhaenyra’s eldest true born son 2) The only one who Rhaenyra has stated would be her heir. Those two facts alone should remedy any issues with his claim to the throne.
That last scene was 🔥🔥🔥.. posted on my Instagram as soon as I was done watching the episode. I actually went back and watched the scene a couple time from Ulf riding Silverwing that last scene of Rahenyra watching Aemond turn away and retreat ❤️🔥

That was a subtle hint from the writers of the show, pointing out the mistake to the viewers. If you know, you know.
I loved all the dragon scenes in this episode. It marked the first real display of how unique each of them is to one another. I like Ulf's bonding moment more than Hugh's because it was more fantastical and suspenseful. He was scared shitless, but happened to be just Silverwing's type 😁
I feel like Grace and I switched places from 2 episodes ago. I needed more. Either Aemond plotting what he should do next or at least Matt Smith actually answer the hallucination's question this time. I needed either a dragon battle or the plot to move along making episode 8 all about a major battle. I appreciated the writing up to this point but it does feel painfully stuck rather than moving plot along.

Those last 15+ minutes were how the WHOLE season should have felt so far. I mean, come on people, there's a war going on. Stakes [were] high. Everything else just feels like an oddly specific pinterest board aesthetic. I really hope the writers hear all the feedback from their fanbase this season.

But, endless grey or overexposed scenes of people whisper-mumbling has really let down the momentum. Everything has become too "one-note" and somber. Even when a lot of dialogue is necessary, good dramas know when and how to add humor, wit, awkwardness, ensemble play, delight, and urgency to shape and move the central tone of the story. Right now the only shape I see most of the time is Alicent's despondent frown (I feel you girl).
the dragon claiming scene was bittersweet for me since I know his part in the story. it was REALLY cool seeing the dragon's choosing their new riders and watching vermithor literally cook his food before eating it! i was hollering the whole time lol
I’m honestly not as excited as I was during the first season for this show. Something about the writing is boring to me, it feels like the story is going too fast but also not fast enough. And basically became a drama with dragons, rather than a fantasy with views on power. The acting is amazing but the dialogue and story feels weak to me compared to game of thrones.
Tessarion won’t have blue fire I don’t think. In the books all the dragons’ fire matches their scale color. We haven’t seen that yet so I don’t think they would change that just for Tessarion, but who knows! That would be cool!

George RR Martin sure did create an amazing world. It kind of blows my mind that a person can imagine a whole world like that for us to enjoy. Writers are so amazing. I hope he gets to finish his story.

Those last 15+ minutes were how the WHOLE season should have felt so far. I mean, come on people, there's a war going on. Stakes [were] high. Everything else just feels like an oddly specific pinterest board aesthetic. I really hope the writers hear all the feedback from their fanbase this season.
Personally, I don’t want a GOT S7/8 repeat, where it was just big moments with no storytelling.
@@L.L.Cool.T Oh I don't either. Not one bit. I was the one with pom poms celebrating character development in the beginning. But, endless grey or overexposed scenes of people whisper-mumbling has really let down the momentum. Everything has become too "one-note" and somber. Even when a lot of dialogue is necessary, good dramas know when and how to add humor, wit, awkwardness, ensemble play, delight, and urgency to shape and move the central tone of the story. Right now the only shape I see most of the time is Alicent's despondent frown (I feel you girl).

the dragon claiming scene was bittersweet for me since I know his part in the story. it was REALLY cool seeing the dragon's choosing their new riders and watching vermithor literally cook his food before eating it! i was hollering the whole time lol

as good as this episode was we still needa strong finish for the finale
I’m honestly not as excited as I was during the first season for this show. Something about the writing is boring to me, it feels like the story is going too fast but also not fast enough. And basically became a drama with dragons, rather than a fantasy with views on power. The acting is amazing but the dialogue and story feels weak to me compared to game of thrones.
No way is the last episode not going to be a banger CG dragon fest, and I'm so here for it.

Tessarion won’t have blue fire I don’t think. In the books all the dragons’ fire matches their scale color. We haven’t seen that yet so I don’t think they would change that just for Tessarion, but who knows! That would be cool!
