I really want him to, but I just don’t think he’ll get it done. I hate to think that, but I just don’t think we’ll ever get over the hump and win the damn thing

DVH has been knocking at the door for years, I hope he hoists the natty trophy before he retires.

Nice to see the NOmahogs working on getting better. Maybe some hitters this year.

I don't think we'll ever be as beat up as we were in 23 but it's really just dawning on me how unhealthy our 24 team was. Just hope we can compete at full strength.

Our bullpen was so deep that the injuries we had on the pitching side shouldn’t have mattered. And the bullpen wasn’t our issue anyway. It was starting pitching and Diggs. Tygart and Molina were rolling and then halfway thru the season just couldn’t find the strike zone. I’ve never seen two pitchers completely melt down like they did, at the same time. Kendall Diggs really destroyed our offense. We essentially had 8 hitters in the lineup the majority of the season. Diggs was an automatic out. The other guys were healthy, they just couldn’t hit, full stop.

How about we talk about JUST the offense? Specifically Nate Thompson, change of coaching philosophy, etc. Let’s just talk about that.

DVH has to get serious with the NIL, if he wants to complete with Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Texas. I mean it’s no coincidence that Tennessee and Texas A&M pay more NIL money than any other SEC baseball program and they just played for the national championship. Why would a kid who wants an education and/or to develop more choose Arkansas over Tennessee, who just won a natty, if Tennessee offers them money? Braden Montgomery transferred to A&M because they paid him. Billy Amick transferred to Tennessee because they paid him. This is not rocket science! If a kid doesn’t command NIL money then he probably isn’t good enough to play in an elite program.

Well shorthand, when you start to contribute $1million per year toward NIL maybe that can happen. To think DVH is not “serious” about NIL then you may be short-sighted instead of short-handed. Rest assured we will do as well as anyone with the resources we have. GO HOGS!

@@rustymeadows8001 yeah, too bad there’s money up in Northwest Arkansas. 🙄 But getting money isn’t the problem, because he could find it. The problem is DVH’s old school mindset about paying college players. He even says it in this interview, “we want to bring in the player that isn’t all about the money”. You know what we looked like this season? Exactly like a of group of players that isn’t all about money.

I wonder how much NIL money Arkansas baseball has?

Great question! I would love to know. I think we can safely assume it’s not as much as Tennessee, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Georgia, Oklahoma, or Florida.
