I agree that stuff like the transitions were better on the og cut, but man do these songs sound so much better. I think the higher quality alone is gonna make me default to Atavista, I've still got all the og mixes downloaded tho
I think the new one sounds over compressed. The og had some wonderful dynamics which made the super creative production really pop

The transitions were better if ur listening to the whole thing, but if ur putting these in a playlist the long outros are weird. That was my biggest problem before

I will admit that I had the unpopular opinion in thinking 3:15:20 was a masterpiece (especially while tripping) but the fact that 33.22 and “why go to the party” were literally both In my top 5 for the album hurts. Not to mention that I thought the coolest part and its biggest selling point was that it all ran together like one big song! I think Anavista is better commercially and will be accepted a lot more then 3.15.20 was, I only hope he re releases it on streaming a yr down the road or something.
i wouldnt mind atavista if you could still listen fo 3.15.20 everywhere else. i made a playlist with the old songs and just added atavista and human sacrifice into it where they should like human sacrifice after warlords, instead of why go to the part, and it sounds soo much better
Glad i have access to both versions, but i do miss feels like summer being on there. Not sleeping on the new version of the album though.
Feels like summer was already 2 years old by the time 3.15.20 came out, it's a good song but it feels out of place on the album and I'm glad he cut it for Atavista.

The new mix on songs like To Be Hunted COMPLETELY changes the record. It's much better in my eyes and he also trimmed the fat.
I might be the only person who will never go back to 03.15.20 this is just a finished version of that unmastered mess (imo!)
I just think the transitions of some songs were a lot better, I miss the lost tracks, and I never thought it sounded unmastered in a bad way, I thought to be hunted was a lot cleaner before but im still excited to listen to atavista

Atavista is a great album - I just miss the cut tracks from 3.15.20 and some missing song transitions. Happy more people will hear this project now with the re-release
Remember talking to you about how much you liked this project a few months back. Out of his whole catalog, it's my least listened to for sure so excited to hear it again.
Hoping to hear some of the cut tracks woven into the show when he goes on tour in a few months - it'll be fun to see how many people recognize them out of the crowd
I didn't hear the first album just heard a off the new album he just released I'd like to cut so I heard especially the song violence real dope just listen to the music people just they want everything to be perfect and it's not

the new intro is bussin, the tracks got polished up real nicely, and sure the transitions are gone, but honestly the pros overweigh the cons by a lot

Nah i disagree both albums are just as good as each other. Atavista and Human Sacrifice are way better songs than the intro song on 3.15.20 and feels like summer imo but warlords or 32.22 is an absolute banger though lol. Apart from that song though I dont care that he cut those songs from the album and he probably feels the same way, that's why he did it in the first place lol.

I think they are a bit incomparable. Atavista is absolutely amazing in sound. The mixing and mastering improved the flow as well as stength of tracks standalone. But then again 3.15.20 is a very unique experience that had an untouchable vibe

I really like human sacrifice but I kinda wish it was just a single, ironically I think it woulda been bigger if it was released that way and I felt like feels like summer fit in that spot in the track list a lot better

I think all the changes make the album better to be honest although I think re-adding "0.00" before the new track Atavista would make the album experience better, the 'we are' is just so transcendent. I do feel like the OG mix was very muddy, on the new one it's punchier which works better for the sound of the album. I also think 3.15.20 had moments where it felt bloated like some of the uncanny transitions that I can't really take that seriously and the removal of "32.22" is good. I dig the track but I could just never take it seriously in the tracklist. I like the new transition from "Why Go To The Party" to the track "Human Sacrifice" which I think works better than "Feels Like Summer" which already had it's moment since it was a single that was HUGE (litteraly released 2 years before 3.15.20). The new track gives the album more triumph in the 2nd half which before, while still enjoyable, had too many slower tracks for me. I think overall Atavista is a much better experience than the OG version, which was already one of my favorite albums of all time.
The only value this album has for me is the new song atavista.. definitely scratching my head on this one. I was excited for nothing

Time is sang in a deeper tone from Both CG and AG. That was not cool. So I assume the whole thing is a departure and an unnecessary one at that. Wasn't any need to adjust it. I thought this was a new album, can y'all stop saying it's a new album? That's misleading

The only songs I thought he improved were final church and sweet thang. The rest , especially why go to the party and big foot little foot are now ruined for me
That transition into To Be Hunted was absolutely butchered. I find myself consistently going back to listen to the old 2 songs just to fill that void when I listen to Atavista.

I think 3.15.20 had his best singing even better than awaken my love, but also really experimental/fun production, it is just a whole groove

I FUCKING AGREE. 3.15.20 was one of my favorite hip-hop albums of all time, and ATAVISTA is NOT.
I a lot of the tracks jst don’t have the same snap and swing that they used to have.
3.15.20 was garbage new version is much better
idk this is pretty extreme the two versions arent different enough to bring it from hot garbage to a 10x better album. Its missing 3 songs, but the new songs are cool, and the mixing is kinda personal preference. but the transitions between songs have just been replaced with fade outs in some cases
@@tallskeleton the audio quality is the main thing that makes it much better as it actually feels like a finished album now where it felt so unfinished before. That and the features bring more to the songs that were worse before.

@@JLewis1 I thought Nudy was pretty good on it tbh he brought energy to an otherwise average song and the OG version of the song was just much worse. Summer was okay she added some nice vocals to the song.
@@travis7756 thats fair. I never thought the old quality was bad. I can tell its mixed better now, but some of the synths were dryer before and now they have a lot of reverb and lushness on songs like to be hunted that I thought sounded better before it was so maximalist but theyre still great songs
