Comedian ALI G cheekily says he wishes ''he could'' (have) Madonna at the beginning of the video to the hit single ''Music''.
One ''guy'' who definitely has is director GUY RITCHIE who has snagged pop''s ultimate prize - the Queen of Pop herself. The couple are due to get married on December 22nd at Dornoch Cathedral in Scotland in what will be the showbiz wedding of the year. But how did it all begin?
Back in 1998, Guy Ritchie was a little known director trying to raise backing for his first feature ''Lock Stock and two Smoking Barrels''. One person who was interested was Sting''s wife Trudie Sttyler. She held a dinner party - and when the young director heard Madonna was invited, rumour has it he insisted he sat next to her. He made such an impression on the Material Girl, she later penned the song ''Impressive Instant'' (included on the album ''Music'') about their meeting.
Despite living on different continents, romance blossomed and before long the gossip columns were flooded with news of their flourishing relationship.
She loved the film ''Lock Stock'' and her record company Maverick produced the soundtrack album.
Rumours started flying that the couple were more than business associates. On the set of ''Snatch'', the director was allegedly always on the phone to ''Madge'' - so much so, filming was interrupted almost every day. But Guy was cagey about the exact nature of their relationship.
Their long distance relationship went through a period of strain ; Madonna , used to getting her own way, was apparently unhappy about Guy''s refusal to live in the States. However, he won her over - so much so, she now spends more time in the UK than in the USA. Any doubts that the relationship would last, were laid to rest when it was confirmed that the couple were expecting a baby. When Rocco was born in August this year, it was only a matter of time before the couple would tie the knot.
Madonna Louise Veronica Ciccone always dreamed of stardom. Her mother died when she was only six and her father, Sylvio, raised his children with solid catholic morals and a dedication to hard work. At school Madonna was a cheerleader and a straight A student. She took dance classes and after leaving school won a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan.
But after a year at college she was yearning for the bright lights of the big city and headed off to New York hoping to find fame and fortune. After struggling in the world of dance for several years, including a stint in Paris, Madonna began to broaden her artistic horizons. In 1982 she hit the mainstream pop charts with `Holiday'', which launched her career on both sides of the Atlantic.
A string of hits followed including, `Like A Virgin'', `Material Girl'' and `Papa Don''t Preach''. In 1985 she married Hollywood wildman Sean Penn, but the relationship failed and the couple divorced four years later.
Her raunchy, sexy image, meant controversy was never far away and in 1989 she was condemned by the Vatican for the video of `Like A Prayer'' which linked religion and eroticism.
