Never beat Kazooie or Tooie as a child and then still couldn't beat them as an adult so well done, this run was great.
First off, super glad this game is still getting so much love, I love this series so much. also, had NO idea I could have broken so much of the game (e.g. beak busting/beak bombing by holding B) or only need 14 jiggies to win, so cool! I'll have to find my n64 games and try this again!
Any idea whether this can be done with the XBLA ports?

I'm just upset about the egg shooting. Not sure if it's the case in Tooie as well, but I know in Kazooie they always shoot a little to the left for some reason and it's bugged me for years.

This run would have been FOURTH place in Any% leaderboard, as GarageDoorOpener already has 2nd place with 43m 51s

Why doesn't this run count on the leaderboards? Obviously not cheating and on original hardware
Well I suppose if you want you can just mute the audio, put the normal game's music over it, then layer the appropriate sound effects over that. It'd take forever and you might even be able to get a better time before you manage to perfectly edit that anyway but it's a thing that can be done. Not sure if it'd count though. Do you need sound for it to count?

I feel like all these people saying this game is their childhood are adults and that by now, and then me who was born in 2003, and yet I loved this game as a child. Huge part of my childhood, as well. 😂
I was so hyped for 2000 for this game, I was 11 at the time, I couldn't wait for this release. Absolutely definitely not a letdown as a sequel
(14:58) Found that ladder thing myself when I dropped down one time and realized it was suspiciously close to the ground. Good to know I'm not the first and people didn't somehow miss that super easy skip.

Ajthem 55 honestly watching this run made me realise this game isn't as good as I remembered. Tons of bloat with slow cutscenes for opening levels and such, the abilities seem to act like keys more than actual gameplay elements, and the bosses barely do anything.
I wouldn't go that far but it is really good.
They need to remake these for the switch
Even though Microsoft owns the games right now, they are getting along with Nintendo nowadays, so one can hope it happens.

The devs aren't an issue. Usually remakes from that era get shipped out to third party developers. Heck, they could even get the ukelee team if they aren't working on anything.

What I love about tooie is it presumed u already played the first one so doesn't explain the basic moves
As sequels, particularly Platformers, should. Especially as the games were barely two years apart and on the same system.
The entire opening area is a tutorial for the old moves. But nice that you can skip it and go straight into the tunnel
Really cool to hear the commentary on a game so close to my childhood lol. I achieved a 100% game file as a kid, was never this quick at it obviously haha

I discovered the Jade Snakes Groove also by myself in the early 2000s when I had no idea how to open the doors.
I'm very pleased that there is a way to beat the game without going through Shithole DinosaurLand.

EDIT: Holy crap! Summer GDQ is taking place in Bloomington! I literally live in the next city over like 10 mins away! For those that don't know about MN (and I REALLY don't blame you), the Mall of America is located in Bloomington. Oh and MoA sucks and is incredibly underwhelming 🤣.

Why isn't he jumping at 5:50? He's doing it the whole rest of the run to save time so why not here?
Jumping down slopes is really, really difficult in Banjo-Tooie. If you press A too early, you cancel your Talon Trot with a flutter (very slow) and then you have to get back into Talon Trot. Most runners do not jump on downward slopes for this reason.

I’ve wondered this myself and I’m sure it’s because half of the glitches wouldn’t work. Also I don’t think you can skip dialogue in the XB versions (not sure about Tooie but you def can’t in Kazooie).
