Anything is possible with cars it’s just how much time you want to put into it. I’ve seen people put in switches for the lcdand make custom PCbs which take the touch screen for cars. Then they connect them into a separate android auto / CarPlay module which in the end you operate by hitting a switch. It then works flawlessly. It’s just that’s a lot of work and generally they sell them for lots of money and offer installs
Of course… anything is possible. You forgot about the « and how much money.. » 😉 for instance, there’s an Aussie out there that proposes a solution with an adapted chip. For “only” 800€ you will have an old Connect system but with Carplay… for only 150€ you have a decent aftermarket solution with big touchscreen… on my channel I address my tutorials to Mr Average with normal to little knowledge and a normal to little budget to upgrade the car. 😉
@@LaPalmeraie0032 yeah I know what you mean. We got a Nissan qashqai the other day. 2016 with the nav. Was just looking to see if it was easier to use a different radio or do a knock off one. I think I’ll just stick with the nav for now but just looking at options. Yeah I saw that Aussie guy, crazy what he has done lol.
Hi How did you mount that on your car? I mean how did you swapped the connect 3 with connect 4? Why is no one that has achieved that showing any video during the installation? I’ve used android units before on my other cars and the main issue they had for was the mic quality. They’re mic’s what ever the brand of the unit is are just rubbish. This is the main reason I don’t want to install any android unit anymore. So plz if you have any guide or tutorial or even links were to buy the connect 4 or any other wire harnesses that would be needed let me know.
Hi! I did not, I swapped the car 😂. A part of the images is of my previous white Qashqai J11a and the rest of my current grey Qashqai J11b. The reason that you can not find any tutorials is because it is feasible but definitelynot plug and play. You can find same info though on the UK forum but honestly I wouldn’t spend that amount of money and effort on a Connect unit. The Italian QQ channel of Francesco Francy has a video on improving mic quality I think. 😉
Hello, thanks for good videos! How can I get android auto to work on my Nissan Qashqai J11 2021. Right now its only Carplay 🤔 Is it possible couldn't find any good answers online. Thanks!!
No you can’t just swap the old Connect for the new version. It needs adaption etc. It’s much easier, cheaper and interesting to replace it with an aftermarket solution as Dasaita, Sinosmart,…
Hi! It's the Connect that comes default with the Qashqai... :) But! You have to have a Connect or higher for this infotainment system and it has to by 2017 or younger to have the Apple Carplay / Android auto compatible system.
@@LaPalmeraie0032 images.app.goo.gl/XC32QSMQgqWF1tq5A That’s it. It’s really basic. Clock radio Bluetooth music and that’s if. That’s why I want to upgrade
Non, le dongle ne sert qu’à transformer le CarPlay filaire d’origine en CarPlay sans fil… il faut remplacer carrément tout le système Connect dans les versions d’avant.
What do you mean? The most recent version of the Connect Software? I truly don’t know as I don’t experience any trouble and therefore don’t need the update. The procedure to update is really long and needs the motor to be running. 😉 check on the UK Qashqai forum otherwise.
No. Not plug and play at least. It needs multiple reconnections. On the UK forum there’s a topic on the subject. Much easier would be to replace it with an aftermarket system as Sinsmart or Dasaita. It would be plug and play and will have way more options.
@@LaPalmeraie0032 I dont like how the aftermarket systems look. I want that oem look so i have to search a little. Also, i found that you can retrofit Carplay to the older Nissan Connect system. But since i don't have touch screen at all, this is definitely not my choice. Thanks.
Retrofit Carplay? That is by replacing the screen itself. It’s an Australian video that shows this solution I think but at 800 AUS$ 😳 there are several aftermarket systems, varying from very big to smaller screens.
Yes that one! But for €150 you have a great aftermarket system. Honestly, I only use carplay and not the other options so if I wouldn’t have had this unit I would have placed a Sinosmart. 😉

Shukran! 🙏 check your settings if Android Auto is set to « always ». Not sure if this is on the car or the phone so check both 😉
I have 2018 nissan qashqai with sd card slot how do I connect apple carplay
You can’t. You need an aftermarket system. Only the Connect system without the SD card slot has Carplay.
hi, I kindly need the link where they explain the installation of the Nissan connect car radio.. were you able to install it??

Hi i have this sat nav which i got very cheap with sd card. Wondering if it is compatible with the 2016 xtrail?
Not sure which sat nav you have? The original Connect system? This is the same in the Qashqai and Xtrail.
@@LaPalmeraie0032 yes original 2015 model
Normally the Qashqai/Xtrail had the Connect system with SD card slot up to 2017. So it should be compatible I guess.
Hey can you let me know where i can get this head unit to buy?
My j11 has a small 3" screen and it sucks
Hi, as I said in the other reaction earlier today. You can’t upgrade to the new but you can put an aftermarket system like dasaita or sinosmart 😉
@@LaPalmeraie0032 thank you. its so weird tat it wont work :( in my region we dont get the bigger screen onlyt he little 3" non touch screen
