Xian hit the nail on the head today MIKE...finally someone articulated it perfectly. Maybe back in SF4 days it wouldn't of been so relevant but now days pure instinct and feeling won't work alone
Hard work definitely paid off more practicing combos in the days of sf4 where 1f links were so important. Now knowledge is so important, where a solid gameplan and critical thinking easily trumps a player that players of feeling and heart
One of the best FG tutorial videos ever made. A mindblowing, funny and gamechanging interaction between pupil and master. Better than pure gold, absolute diamond. I'm subscribed now.
Just wanted to take the time to say this again: I'm so happy to have Mike back... It just hits differently to be entertained by watching him playing some SF. Thanks for the content guys!
I feel like this is ground zero for something really special. Hoping to see more of Mike's Manon. Xian seems like he would make an amazing coach... as long as you can support the weight of the soul crushing advice he gives you along the way. Because one day Xian could be gone. Everybody could be gone.
There are 2 wolves in Mike. One is the Manon. The other is the dark wolf, appearing in the darkness of night, when the rank points drop the most, and the salt is at the highest. The wolf leaps into the air and... Honda emerges from the shadows. Either way, we would love to see how Coach Xian is able to take Mike to the next level. Maybe they both qualify for Capcom Cup 24!
Xian was an amazing teacher. Manon does have her gimmicks but I fell into the same issue. I relied on gimmicks too much that when I went up against a Master player my fundamentals were nowhere to be seen. Great video. Good dynamic between y'all.
Fighting Games are so Intrinsic in nature that alot of lessons we learn in the game apply to us in real life too. And Vice Versa of course! Thank you for supporting us and we'll keep the videos rolling!
" You should never do a reset against anyone of lower rank cause that doesn't improve fundamentals" I be styling on the lower ranks and kicked my ass kicked lol, hearing that makes sense now seeing how Im playing with gimmicks or some sort of personal goal while fighting instead of building a set of fundamentals to move myself forward, thank you Xian
Best Vortex content in a long time for me. I just want to see these guys play SF6 and put some effort in (win or lose doesn't matter). Normal games, no gimmicks, just Street Fighter. Love to see it guys and hope to see more content like this!
OMG! when I started to follow the FGC community not too long ago, I didn't believe that I will find a duo of fighting games veterans that would make me laugh so much! your channel is amazing guys! Xian - my favourite street fighter player!!! Mike - awesome dude also!
I haven't even touched my stick today (pause) but I feel like I became a better player just from hearing what Xian had to say. I felt like while he was talking to Mike he was really dissecting my own play with tendencies and poor decision making while relying on flowchart muscle memory,.
First off great vid guys. Very entertaining. The comparison to boxers or MMA fighters not putting themselves in a punishable position when they knock the other guy down/out. Watch Holloway and Gaethe, first example that came to mind.
Making decisions consciously is so obvious but extremely helpful. I realized last night after a couple of fast losses, I'm just kind of doing things sometimes. Not always sometimes I play in the moment and am really making decisions. Other times I am just pushing buttons however my fingers decide to. This was helpful.
I watch you guys but honestly this episode was nice!!!!!!!! lol a little bit of everything in there. Mike was so happy when everything was confirmed for the Idom Setup hahahahahaha
It is funny how Xian immediately calls out Mike's gimmicks on Manon. That move is minus and you go into grab every time, I don't play manon mike, but that move is minus and your opponent is too bad to do anything about it. Just goes to show the level of competition at the top, he called it in like 2 reps, 1 round. Also, don't feel bad Mr. Mike Rossington III, you're still a much better player than most, you're just not part of the 0.001% like Xian xD
I wonder if Xian or Mike have any advice on execution improving in the first place. Any drills the pros do? Should you warm up and practice your combos for 15mins or so before hopping into ranked?
Practice makes perfect. @Brian_F has a great video regarding his learning process when he picked up Ed. Learning new combos and making it part of your muscle memory and system 2 brain. Fchamp recently uploaded a video about practicing anti air executions and settings for it. Warming up is definitely a great way as well to keep your mind aware on what you practiced at the start of a session.
I made it to plat just doing my thing but found myself getting paddled by actually good players. Literally this evening I decided to actually use my brain instead and think about what I'm doing. Crazy timing on this video!
Thanks for noticing! That was the main reason why xian was highlighting that moment. Although he pivoted to the importance of learning a setup the right way, mike definitely should have went for the kill there
This is literally me actively trying to rank down rn. Just started playing and ranked up fast taking advantage of players common mistakes. But now I’m realizing I have no fundamentals or neutral game. I wish I could reset rank and start over.
One of the TO's from my city spams DI and DR and that's how he always wins. Me and another vet player have advised him against that and he said that as long as that's getting him wins he will continue doing it. Bro's never gonna get better.
On the one hand, if he is still getting wins then it's fine. On the other hand as soon as he tries to play standard it's going to be rough and he'll probably drop.
Were you a better player after the 18 minutes were over? Let us know!
100% ,great training video.
Yes, I'll definitely need to rewatch this before my next online grind
yes it helped!
18 minutes ago I thought I was ass because I never practice enough to build up enough muscle memory for combos. Now I know im just ass.
This video surfaced demons I didn't know I had now I'm fighting them so I guess I'm better
I use the Mike “The Boss” Ross system of success:
Say “check this out”, jump in and then get bodied.
the only sequence that ALWAYS combos
The thing about being a boss, is that you miss every "Check This Out" you dont take
Works 60% of the time everytime
“Am I ass?”
Really a loaded question

Xian is so eloquent, for real
I didn't realize how incredibly expressive one could be with a single word
And english is not his strong suit

I could watch this for hours. I was so invested in seeing if the setup was real. The look on Mike's face during the whole vid was pure cinema.
I'm dying they played the Bruce Lee "Flow like water" clip when Xian was dropping knowledge on Mike😂😂😂
Thanks for noticing it GOAT!
Xian is a master of almost paying Mike a compliment before turning it into a sly dig at the last second
I feel like this is ground zero for something really special. Hoping to see more of Mike's Manon. "You're not Mike Tyson. You're _Tyson MIKE._" goes so unnecessarily hard.
This video was fantastic, thank you! One of the most helpful videos that I've seen so far!
Thank you for the support! Whenever Xian drops the wisdom we have to capture and share it!
Rare footage of Xian not roasting Mike by not calling his setplay ass when directly asked lol.
The coach mindset kicked in and he found a better way to teach him an important lesson!
Xianpai is real
The knowledge drips and it helps to play any fighting game.
Xian was an amazing teacher. Manon does have her gimmicks but I fell into the same issue. I relied on gimmicks too much that when I went up against a Master player my fundamentals were nowhere to be seen. Great video. Good dynamic between y'all.
Xian is so fucking wise. The way it even applies to everyday life things and not just fighting games too. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
Fighting Games are so Intrinsic in nature that alot of lessons we learn in the game apply to us in real life too. And Vice Versa of course! Thank you for supporting us and we'll keep the videos rolling!
tyson mike that was fucked up
Getting roasted like that might put a new spin on the term Hotboxin
I need more Xianpai and Mike Tyson Mike.
Xianpai the science guy is here to deliver
More of these coaching videos, this was great!
Mikes face when Xian said it’s a real setup is the best!
This is the best video I’ve ever seen about fighting games

Solid video🔥🔥very entertaining.
So basically what I've learned from Xian:
Think before you act
Observe your opponent
Act based on each opponent
Funny as hell man😂
This was a great watch!!!
I really enjoy your content and it's always fun, but damn, Xian was godlike in this video and I actually learned a lot!
Facts this was great and thanks for the support!
“That’s not a combo.”
My problem exactly 😂
Xian is the one teacher who will teach you great knowledge but then you have to talk to your therapist afterward
In Mike's case, Xian is both

Cheers to the editor for that hogan Manon getting RKO out of nowhere. Lmao
hell yeah
Hell Yeah
keep up the good content fgc gets repetitive with the tier lists videos or how broken a character is instead of making content
We occasionally dip our toes with those in the pursuit of entertainment, but adding value through content is what we are here for!
God damn that was visceral

I got to diamond on Blanka. But am I really diamond?
No im a solid plat player I just know the blanka cheese.
Can’t wait to metamorphose with Akuma
Mike "They're not playing Street Fighter" Ross has always been a heart based player. That is why he was able to beat Tool Assisted.
idom, Xian and Mike will never be gone!
Never never never
I need to know if Mike actually knows the difference between a frame trap and a meaty...or not.
Wish this guy could coach me. I am too intimidated to even buy the game 😂
I'm still waiting for Waxl to return
Based on Xian's philosophy, I don't think he will ever main a grappler.
True, their entire game plan is based on a higher degree of risk.
And you can play much safer with better characters for the same rewards.
Lmao Xian is hilarious lol

I need Xains voice as my street fighter coach GPT I made 😂
