In terms of gameplay, I'd say Clash Royale is more original than Brawl Stars because mobas like League of Legends and Dota can be pretty similar to certain modes in Brawl Stars, while Clash Royale is a big deviation from other games in the tower defense genre. Brawl Stars is basically just a dumbed down version of League and Dota, which might sound like I'm bashing it, but I actually think it's one of the game's biggest selling points. Brawl Stars basically fixed many issues people have with traditional mobas (match duration, too much mechanical depth, toxic chats) without making the game bad by any means.

I think the reason brawl stars is more popular than clash of clans and clash royale is the engagement. In brawl stars, you configure and control your brawler. In the other games, you place down troops and they fight automated, which is less engaging and interesting.
hypercharges and ranked mode are the reason most players came back I started playing in the first week of the beta, however I quit like 3 years ago. All my friends did too. Now everyone ik started playing it again. Most people who came back love hypercharges and the only people complaining are the top 0.1% of players, and they are not really relevant to the growth of the game
Agreed. I don’t think he gave hypercharges enough respect. I have been free to play since global launch and have always stick by the game. When they were first released they gave every player a chance to get one hypercharge for free and have been doing that for a while now. It did not feel so pay to win and that they were going to break the game and ruin it, but more of a stage in the game that needs more of these hypercharges to be balanced. I don’t think hyperchages on release ruined the game instead that title goes to gears.

i think the diff with brawlstars is even though its still pay to win, theres still a lot of skill and you can still win with underleveled brawlers as long as u have a couple power 11s

I started playing bs in 2020, dump the game because I thought winning doesn’t give you much. But pick em up again when they gave out lots of free stuff. Then I learned winning is good, getting stardrop is exciting and chasing mastery is the game. Now i have mastery to get while waiting for my level 20 archer towers upgrade in clash of clans
I quit clash of clans it got boring pretty fast for me because of the waiting and how when I got a town hall level six I was trying to battle for money and elixir but I got offered people with level 8 town halls but brawl stars is fun and I can fight people my level and I don’t need to wait 5 weeks for my archers and barracks to upgrade

They host fun challenges, events for people to engage in for rewards. Yes they do have to make money somehow so there's obviously some questionable micro transactions but it's not as bad as Clash Royale.
