Hi, I really appreciate you making this video. It's good to see it run side-by-side. For months I've been looking for a suitable Veo alternative, but there just doesn't seem to be anything even close to the quality of the video. I coach U8's and U11's football and although we could raise the funds for a Veo, we just couldn't afford the monthly running costs, sadly. I have been monitoring the progress of the xBot but just not quite sure it's quite there yet in terms of quality and consistency 🤔
Thanks for the comparison. I really like the VEO better. I just ordered that Chameleon, and thought I made a mistake... until I saw that the veo costs 3x more than the Chameleon. 😅
The subscription fees are what kills you on the VEO. That camera is worth it and they have specials but only if you buy the tripod and the subscription with the camera. Annual recurring revenue model for them.
Looks like the Veo was higher up which gave it an advantage when the ball game to the near sideline. Overall the Veo clearly worked better. Of course at a higher price and not useful when wanting to do some more advanced production with replays and more clunky when trying to do live-commentary due to the 90-120s delay in the video.
Higher up means you have to move the camera further away from the sideline to get the area at middle field in view. I was slightly more zoomed on the XbotGo camer which was lower but Xbot says it should be lower.
Thank you for sharing. Any chance you can share an example with the zoom on the iphone at 1.0x? Just wondering what a 1:1 zoom ratio would look like between the cameras. For example would you capture the close sideline?
i forget if the Xbot software forces you to use 1.2x . If you were to use 1x zoom or less and did not allow Autozooming via the software the kids would look very small on the far side of the field.
autozoom was off. I usually use like 120 degrees or slight more for the pan angle and I was using pan speed of 500. They have had a recent firmware update again so I may try the defaults to see if they work better that the origin firmware.
Hi Scott, I recently bought the Insta360 Flow Pro thinking it would be similar to the Xbotgo, but it’s not. I need to return it, and now I want to buy the Xbotgo after seeing the amount of quality it has shown over the last few months. However, I’m not sure if the gimbal works like the Chameleon. Do you think it’s worth it or not?
I don't have the Gimbal so I can't comment. Insta360 I have and unfortunately it will not work for a soccer game on a full size field. Everyone appears too small. However, an Insta 360 in 180 degree mode might work for a basketball game or an indoor futsal game. i have never tried it but I think it might work ok on a very small court.
Wow thanks for the comparison, I appreciate this which is absolutely what I was wondering. Have a great life dude!
Thanks, you too!

I would say it is not quite there. I catches about 90% of the action but you are not guaranteed to catch the more important action.
unless you're prepared to pay x5 times the amount and then a very expensive sub per month then this is the closest you'll find.

Thanks for the comparison! Its come with rugby mode?
No specific rugby mode. I would just try using american football or soccer mode.
Hi Scott, can you tell me a bit more about the settings you used? Speed of pan, angle view, auto zoom?

@@Onthebackhalfon veo3 or xbot?
