I’m from So Cal. For me, a lipless comes into play in the dead of winter! Our lakes are severely mismanaged, over pressured, and I surf fish Spring and Fall , and surf and fish in Mexico during the summer… I yo yo a lipless along with a Damiki Vault blade bait and throw in a jerk bait and a big ole 10” swim bait!
Lipless crankbaits are my favorite reaction baits, hands down. Pick up a few different models so you have different sound and vibration characteristics and get out there, you'll get your confidence pretty quick. Very versatile lures year-round, at any depth.
I’ve been bass fishing over 50 years and I’m pretty sure I’ve caught more on lipless cranks than anything. I caught a 11-3 on a lipless and lost others bigger. I think the biggest bass I ever had on was on a lipless when wade fishing on lake Fork in early March. I never turned that bass. She straightened the hooks when I tried to keep her out of flooded trees and I had upgraded hooks on it. They were about all my dad would throw. I wish he was still throwing it.

Thanks for your opinion and expert advice. Appreciate you sharing.
Great info and got me fired up to start throwing one more often.
I have zero confidence on a lipless, but I really want to change that.

Fish it in the pre spawn you'll get confidence
Lipless my favorite 😍🎣
"It's my go-to bait as well year round"
Great video Scott, thanks for the tips.
I smash them in the pre spawn. It's definitely my favorite bait. All year long!
