Part 3 of a SnowRunner Hard Mode Strategic Walkthrough.
In this episode I visit the Smithville Dam garage to upgrade the Chevrolet CK1500, find a second CK1500 and complete The Long Way, Rock On and Smithville Bridge tasks.

this dude have done so much without scratching any of his vehicles, meanwhile 15 minutes into the game, my entire fleet look like mud covered crumpled paper. Also loading cargo *chef's kiss*

Thought it was just me. Very happy that this series has 61 episodes but I’m sad he hasn’t uploaded in 7 months. I really hope he comes back and plays another relaxing game.
Same dude. I got sick this week so I’ve been laying in bed and going in and out of sleep while watching these.

How you have managed to complete all these tasks and contracts without putting a single scratch on that Fleetstar is beyond me. Hats’ off to you! At this exact point on my play through, my Fleetstar looked like it got into a fight with a speeding freight train and you can imagine how that ended.

It definitely gets tougher to avoid damage as the maps get more difficult. The Fleetstar does end up with a few bumps and scratches, but I figure each one tells a story and every time I notice them it reminds me to take it easy.
Either this guy has am amazing memory, or his editing skills are top notch, because he hasn't looked at the map once during all of this.
I can't even pull out of the driveway of the garage without checking the map 3 times.
Man I was so sceptical of this game when it came out after getting burned by mud runner that I've spent all my time in spintires since its release, 500 ish hours or so not giving any attention to Snow Runner at all. After a couple of years not playing I Decided to finally watch these videos that came up in my feed all the damn time to get them away from me (that was the first video in this series) and boy have I missed out one some neat stuff!!! This game looks so much more polished and with so much more content and things to do! Believe it or not but my favorite map was coast and using the Zil-130 with chains to complete the entire map, I became very quick too and with my best friend (who's sadly no longer with us, hence the hiatus) we could bang it out in no time. Well, your videos are superb, I love your style and artistic expression. Something I really appreciate is you show everything without me having to sit through endless videos of nothingness.

Unless you're editing out a lot of screwups, it's a very well planned playthrough. You didn't need to bring planks to open that last bridge though. There's a trailer with 2 planks just on the other side of the river and loads of winch points to get across.

what always helps me with winching a trailer is tapping the winch, it will start rocking the car and give you little bursts of traction
This is a great series. I am only about 30 hours in and I'm hooked. It's really interesting to see how you solve the problems.
Just a quick editing tip... there is a way to cheat youtube's compression it applies to your videos, to make them more clear, especially under speedier conditions. I assume you're recording at 1080p, I do the same. The trick is to then export the vid in QHD format. You'll not notice an aliasing from the minor stretch, and youtube will use a much better compression method on your videos, clearing them right up.
Loving the series, if I didn't know any better, I'd think I was watching myself play, we have very similar approaches to HM 😁

I played this game for about 100h and still didn't know you could transport another vehicle in the truckbed. Thanks for that tip!
Not sure when u started to play but it took a very long time after release before u could fasten trucks when transporting them. Before that there was no point in even doing it as they could fall off from just a minor bump. Not to mention the fact that if your cargo or truck did fall out from bumping or tipping over u were most certainly faced with the loading bug right after as anything u try to load back on again just fell right through the truck or trailer u wanted to load it on.
@@Shiftry87 I played basically at release and not much after. Good to know I didn't just miss a standard feature but that it was patched in later.

New to the channel (and series lol) really enjoying it so far. Have it up alongside as background noise while I embark on a new adventure. Your editing, narration style, music choice- and thus the story told- is impeccable. I know this is a "walkthrough" but really, I think it's much more than that.
None of this to mention your extreme precision and skill at the game itself. Kudos all around. Thanks for taking the time to make this. I see the playlist is 61 videos (at my time of commenting), and look forward to watching the next 58.

I’ve found out that either 4.8L or 5.0L with the snowrunner gear box and AWD and Diff. Lock work great

You have helped me out so much, watching you up to this part has saved my sanity. There is so much to know that this game simply does not cover, yet you do. Are you a wizard?
For example: The subtle controller functions are for some G-Darn reason, not covered by this game!!! The tutorial is terrible for that, btw and simply does not include. It is like the tutorial wants us to watch videos on this platform!!!
Watching you play, I finally figured out that which was making me yell at my screen monitor asking myself, "why the farge is this not working"! "what is wrong with this game" !... I would say & I would yell!
But yet, because you making this content really good content, I can say with certainty, that I actually did not waste my money on this game, I can now finally enjoy this game! Without this channel I would have moved onto a different game entirely. Thank you for these videos.
I echo this sentiment; watching at least a few of these videos is almost required viewing to play Snowrunner effectively..
He made getting the locked differential for the Chevy look like a cakewalk. When I did it my pickup rolled into the lake
Iam just starting a new save now on hard mode on ps5 , i have completed 1st play thru so far on ps4 without mods , have to say your vids are so good & calming to watch & thxs for some good tips too 👍
As someone who thins this game is hard enough to play normally/without hard mode I find this impressive but I could never do a hard playthrough
I’ve been looking into starting a hard mode recently and so I came across your channel. And have binged a few episodes lol. It’s nice to see how others strong things together so I have a better idea of what I might do like the fuel tank you got on smithville in this video I was wondering where you would bring it but I suppose that’s a good spot that you don’t gotta go get and bring back again as it’s already there and if you needed fuel a fuel station would be a good spot lol. I was thinking you may go explore and get vehicles and upgrades but kinda seems like in hard mode you should go out of your way a little bit to get them but not make travels across the map for no reason as you will be close in the near future. Also I really like how you have the videos speed up I think that’s a cool idea to get more content into a single episode.
Ever since seeing another snow runner hard mode run I've nearly cleared all the maps on mudrunner and I'm considering picking up a copy of snowrunner.

I did play the game for a little while, you look like you are a pro at this game, but if they make another one, i won't play it unless the world/environment is dynamic. Like roads getting better after water pumps quest(for example), or snow not being just white mud.

I have a love hate relationship with this game
Do you complete every mission before moving on to the next map?
I set myself a rule to complete the main progress tasks before moving onto the next region and I'll be playing through each region in order - Michigan > Alaska > Taymyr and so on. On the individual maps within a region I'll generally do the missions to open the roads or anything which makes getting around easier first, but will jump back and forth as far as order goes.
@@KnullModem What about the logging missions? The trailers and frame addons are extremely expensive for what you make on them. Do you force yourself to do all of those before moving to the next region, or just ignore them?
@@the_omg3242 It is *NOT* recommended to do the logging missions in Michigan. Just buying the trailers and doing all the missions will make you lose like $20k. You should come back and do them later after earning money elsewhere if you're going for the 100% completion.
Was there an Update after this Upload that changed the Size of the Fuel Tank on the Chevy Pickup? I see in the Video yours has 80L, but in my Hard Mode Game the Default Chevy Pickup I started with only has 22L Max.
The difference is just the unit of measurement chosen in the game options. I'm using metric as it's what I'm more familiar with, so it shows 80 litres while using imperial measurements would show 22 gallons.

Could you have used the red Chevy to winch the blue Chevy back? And the carry one and winch the other with the other truck?

Kind of annoying how the background voice keeps interrupting the foreground audio. Should really work on your audio balancing and maybe lower the background voice a bit more.
