It is an archaeological project, the know-how of which has been lost over the centuries, and which is built with the methods and tools of the time, the deadlines are completely normal. The [completed] project is estimated to cost over 54 million euros, and was nearly purchased unfinished for 20 million euros. A euro is worth a tad more, but close to a US dollar. So there's the answer(s).
When I was a kid in the late 90s early 2000s you could buy a castle for about 120-300k. Granted most needed restoration and that could add up to another 500k. Then again, maybe nowadays most have already been bought and restored so the price has gone way up.
Due to french laws about conservation you need to restore the castle the same way it was build which means you need to employ experts and expensive materials. Owning a castle isn't a good investment, that's why it may look like they are cheap but then it's 100k a year just to maintain it.
Poor Asmongold. He's convinced that they'd build the castle faster in America than in France. But he doesn't know that there's nobody in America with skills and knowledge required to build one, and that France is probably the best place in the world to do this project because of tradition. Also, castles aren't build out of cardboard and drywall, like they build things in America.
That unfinished castle is in Almere, the Netherlands. And no it's not 90 million dollars. It was for sale for 22 million euro in 2014. Current price is unknown.
Unfinished things which doesnt spkes interest can actually be really cheap. I already found finished Castles for 25 000, but there are probably a lot of conditions on it. Like you need to finish it or use it in certain ways, etc.
Castles were drafty and cold. And on RUclips a guy with a channel about living during the Medieval times said farmers and other people ate food that was heather for their bodies than rich people ate.

Ah yes Castle Asmongold. Ideation began in the 2020's and construction was finished by the Malding Legion in the late 2040's. An amazing structure and a crowning jewel of Texas.
Some castles are actually free but you have to maintain them and open them to the public for visits. But it's hella expensive to maintain.
Alright if you want to see castles , you should come to Slovenia , Its small country so you can travell trough all of it in few days and see them all ... Some of them are actualy nicest in Europe . Predjama , And Castle Bled are specialy popular .
Yep it's in France and the project is oooold
"we would've built 3 of them and blown up the first one" lmao true
I’ve visited this castle and when I was a child probably like 20 years ago I should go again
The [completed] project is estimated to cost over 54 million euros, and was nearly purchased unfinished for 20 million euros. A euro is worth a tad more, but close to a US dollar. So there's the answer(s).
Just imagine when they've got a lot of the castle finished and start on the gardening... if they do, thatll be damn gorgeous!
Do it then. WOW can wait
3:34 shhhhh no one tell him about Brittania Manor in Austin, Texas
Ya gotta start with the keep and see how it goes, then build the walled area around it lol
In the closest city where I live there's a smallish 600~ yo fort, it's pretty neat.
This is some next level RPing
Imagine someone 300 years from now building an “authentic 21st century basic apartment” with “authentic 21st century power tools” lmao
in the US, specifically colorado, there is a castle that is essentially what asmongold is talking about called bishops castle
That unfinished castle is in Almere, the Netherlands. And no it's not 90 million dollars. It was for sale for 22 million euro in 2014. Current price is unknown.
If you are interested there is a serie on RUclips called Fire of Guédelon made by the worker of the castle which is quite interesting.
"Gaming in the tunnels" lmao
i would unironically build a castle w the community that shit sounds fun as fuck
When can we go to help build this?
3:30 "We buy land in Texas and views come and help build the castle"
Chat: "We call it Spergatory"
This fucking killed me
