    Those Chosen of Nurgle are absolute monsters! Took that 3v1 like a champ, and took down all 3 units with it! Such a pleasure to see elite melee units show their worth

      Honestly I think summoning in 2 more of those instead of the exalted heroes could've had some teeth. Obviously impossible to know for sure, and hindsight is 20/20

      @@robertdickinson6799 The problem is they get absoloutely wrecked if your opponent brings in Marauder Horseman as a response. They work well for an opening since your opponent might not expect them, but after that it's rough for them especially since Furies also trade terribly into Khorne Horseman with their Anti-Infantry.

    I think you're right about Nurgle ALMOST being competitive.
    I read someone suggest that you should be able to toggle Cloud of Flies between the +9 MD or a 20% missile resistance. That and a better dedicated anti-large unit could make Nurgle very good.

    Other than Slaanesh and their broken Hellstriders, most of the monogod factions seem pretty balanced overall! I'd like to see Nurgle get some more anti large units like Chaos Warriors w/ Halberds, and I think giving death heads or even the Soul Grinder a minor poison wind effect would be a nice buff to the faction.

      Nurgle are sitting at the lowest winrate of any faction so I'd say they're pretty underpowered rather than balanced.

      @@thepiousskeleton6046 true, I think a part of that is because low mobility factions tend to suffer at high levels of play. Taking the dwarfs for example, new players struggle against them but in the past they’ve had really low win rates in tournament play.
      Nurgle can use some up tuning, for sure, but what suggestions would you have to change for their faction that would make them balance for tournament level play?

      @@Nickelback8469 Death's head grenades putting a damage tick on models hit by them so you can use the ranged plague drones to fuck with skirmishers and missile formations. That single change would give them so much more pressure.
      It's like how I think that hellstriders should lose their bonus versus large and they're alright. It lets them stay as a backline dive unit, but they will lose to any real cavalry threats.
      I'd also argue that Khorne should really have bonus versus infantry on like all of their marauders, with a juicy figure on dual weapons.

      @@Nickelback8469 They aren't performing well in casual play either. Their playstyle of slow and expensive tanky units just doesn't suit a game mode which is extremely focused on value trading. I think that domination game length needs to be reduced to somewhere in between where it was prior to patch 2.1 and where it is now. Either that or they'd need some aspect of their playstyle changed from its intention which is less ideal imo.

    12:25, you didn't fully capture 3rd point because you moved away your cav. Not sure if that could change the outcome, but still worth to note. Still a great game!

    Biggest issue for Nurgle is that Toads and Flies don't do enough damage to be worth picking. They need a pretty big WS buff just to be near comparable units (Sabretusk pack and Ripperdactyls would be my points of comparison). I also think a lot of the marked mortals are overpriced. 1600 for GW Chosen is nuts.

    I'd also argue that Khorne should really have bonus versus infantry on like all of their marauders, with a juicy figure on dual weapons. The big issue with Khorne chaff is their utter lack of melee defense, they're sub skeleton swordsman in that department.
    Additionally, I think the WOC should have access to Seekers of Slaanesh rather than hellstriders, just because they aren't nearly as cost efficient, but they are still a very powerful mobile threat.

    Nah I gotta agree as much as I don't like the playstyle of Papa Nurgle the Chaos Knights got mad drip. The green colors just looks so fucking good especially with the green hooves. Would love to see greenish hoofprints in the ground when they're charging. Would be cool little touch for all the Chaos Knights with different colors based on monogods.

    I get that they wanna be lore friendly but nurgle units (especially the toads and flies) just do too little damage. they should really take a page out of dow2 plague champion. when he attacks it's a slow gradual approach but when you attack him he can counter initiate with a bunch of damage. that honestly feels more lore friendly to me

      Hitting super hard is lore friendly for Nurgle, they just have to catch you first (which CA implemented as low speed and CB). Look at Plaguebearers/Exalted Plaguebearers WS and you can see that for some units CA hit the mark properly (33% higher than chaos warriors on a cheaper unit). Toads and Flies are just undertuned. You could increase the WS of those units by 40% and it just matches similarly priced units on other rosters. A WS buff would be lore friendly and help Nurgle out a lot.

    I feel you about Nurgle. TWW:3 was where I learned about the chaos gods and I thought Nurgle was hands down the most interesting with the whole plague thing paired with the weird humor and kinds silly looking units. I played a Champions of Chaos campaign with Festus and that was OP but Id like pure Nurgle to be better than it is

    Chaos Knights need more mass. 1130 is too low. It's what empire knights have.

      Soul Grinder of Nurgle can take out Marauder Horsemen of Khorne and Exalted Plaguebearers and Marauder Horsemen of Nurgle can take out Minos with their grenades and throwing axes

      Harpies would be a great counter, but people don't like to use flying units in domination. Using a soul grinder to counter marauders is loss, Soul grinder is like 3/4x times the cost lmao.
      There is also no counter to Minotaurs, you have to use magic for them, that's why Nurgle is so low ranked, can't counter all the tools other factions got while Nurgle still has 0 anti large.

      @@mcmarkmarkson7115 It's 1750 gold to Marauder Horsemen of Khorne's 700. That's 2.5 times the cost and since when does a unit costing more make it a loss as a counter? It has superior range and ammo with the benefit of splash damage and Turin has shown its effectiveness at taking out cav in several games now.
      As for Minos not having a counter, that's what Death's Heads are for. There's a reason why Khorne is one of the only even match-ups for Nurgle.

      @@thepiousskeleton6046 you raise good points, but Turin did have all 3 of those units and seemed to be outmatched still. The deaths heads on the exalted plaguebearers just doesn't seem reliable enough of a ranged attack in your ability to actually get off more than one volley, since the range is low and their role is really that of elite melee infantry. What I mean by that is that it's not like they are going to be in the second line and have any sort of guaranteed use of the deaths heads. Like Turin said, nurgle needs a dedicated globadier type ranged unit. More than a couple hybrid units with 2-3 ammo. But in the end it was a close match and you're probably right since those kind of are the only things.

      @@patrickleonard4187 When facing minos, you really want to have another unit like Nurglings or standard Plaguebearers holding them in place to shoot rather than letting them charge your Exalteds and only getting off one volley as a result. Exalted Plaguebearers are an infantry unit but their ranged attack has only 15 less range than Globadiers so they're capable of acting in a similar role albeit for a considerably shorter time given their low ammo.

    Since the doctors nerf I don’t see any value in him. If I want aoe healing, I think a lord on a rot fly with the 3 charge fecundity ability is better. If I want a mortis, I’d use a GUO since it does more damage all around. They also can’t be sniped as easily as Festus. He’s a coward.

    I always considered Nurgle factions should be the pioneers of gas warfare, considering they should be immune from its effects. I think some globadiers or Poisoned Wind Mortars would be sooooo cool and could really make it so you can counteract your lack of speed by forcing enemies to come to you, but if your enemy goes really hard into ranged and arty then you'll regret it. That dynamic would be really good for the faction imo.

    You get 3 Warriors for the Price of 2 Chosen. With their high MD and Poison the Warrior Greatweapons beat down most armored Infantry all Day almost as good as Chosen and it´s not the End of the World if one gets nuked by Magic.

    Nurgle is bad because they have no tools to be good in classic LB's. No good skirmishers, and no good ranged outside of double soul grinder that costs >3500g. The entire faction is also weak vs strong shooting tools. Nurgle is VERY good in melee, but until you can play for victory points and not pure value trading, they will never be good unless they are over buffed.
