    What people don’t understand is fermenting process is only to provide your animals with a probiotic enzyme. It is only a supplement. Due to the chickens won’t get all the necessary protein an crude fat they need, just from the fermenting feed.

    I have a question, so I got my chicken yesterday and it rained and got the food wet, he ate some this morning, how long does it take for the feed to get moldy? Will be he sick from overnight wet food?

    • @pamperedchickenmama
      @pamperedchickenmama  3 года назад

      No, probably not. It will take just a day or two to mold, unless outside temps are under 40 F. What I usually do in that case is put the feed in a fridge if possible. Fermenting it will help keep it for longer, too.

    Hi! When you feed your chickens fermented feed does that mean you do not give them dry feed 24/7? I’ve heard some people say they need access all the time.

    • @joshuagarner6981
      @joshuagarner6981 2 года назад

      That is the uneducated talking out of turn. Calculate the feed requirement and make each day’s feed three days ahead.

    • @Countrylifestlye
      @Countrylifestlye Год назад

      Fermented feed should not be fed as whole. It is only considered a supplement due to its probiotic enzymes. You still need to mix with other feed

    But it smells fine
    I see no more water
    So do I need to start over with less water? Or is that ok

    • @GraphicallySpeakingMimi
      @GraphicallySpeakingMimi 2 года назад +1

      For chick…It should never be allowed to absorb/swell go above the water line. If it does, you didn’t have enough water to begin with. Add water daily as needed to keep feed submerged always. Like she said in the video, feed will absorb the water so weighing the feed down with a plate and keep the water level higher than the feed can swell or absorb will insure the feed is always submerged.

    Do you feed the fermented starter once a day or do you keep your feeder full the same way you do with dry starter?

    • @pamperedchickenmama
      @pamperedchickenmama  3 года назад +2

      You can do either. Some people top dress the regular feed 1x daily, others offer it all day long. The only issue with offering it all day long is that some chicks object to the texture and it can get really messy. I personally go with the top dress method. Hope this helps!

    After famented for 3days how many days it can stay for feeding

    • @GRCRUAICHURCH
      @GRCRUAICHURCH 2 года назад +1

      Ferment an amount your chicks can finish in a day, after three days of fermentation, for efficiency you need like 4 buckets, that you can interchange, rinse then put in another food to be eaten after three days. Once fermented, soak of the water, feed the chicks. Remember the feed almost doubles in size after fermentation, so slightly reduce from the normal dry feed, adjust accordingly as your chicks grow.

      @@mtechlinkmusic9ja992 Yeah, trick is to keep it from smelling foul which isn't good by stirring the mix atleast thrice a day, smell should be a non pungent smell, not too strong, you could start with one day, two day, three days, see which one the chickens prefer. Mine prefer two days fermented feed, they didn't like the three days one, lots of left over plus it had a stronger foul smell than the day two. But I come from a hot climatic area, hot areas ferment feed fast.

    I’m sorry but 72 hrs of fermenting chick starter an it will go sour causing the chicks to get the greens. Chick starter is recommended to only soak it till you get it oatmeal thick. This video is not helpful at all. I soak chick starter an 5 grain scratch.
