At first glance, this film may seem very simple with old-fashioned graphics. But if you really pour your heart and your soul into this, and by using the right sequence and story line, the right visual and audio effects for the right feeling, plus the right timing and camera views, even an old-fashioned 2D graphics animation as simple as this one can have the immense power to blow people's minds. The amount of effort put into this just to make a MP4-12C and a GT86 racing... AND IT'S MADE WITH POWERPOINT! That has got to be one of the most impressive things I've ever seen to date. Plus, the pictures must be hard to make, I can't even correctly draw a GT86 without wasting 1 hour and erasing stuff on a piece of paper.
Also that wall run in the tunnel scene was awesome, that must've took you about more than 5 days just to make that scene. Awesome work you did, man. *LOVED* it.
This series is such a joy to watch. Huh i remember playing midnight racing tokyo bought the ae86 as my first car and pushing it to the limits i pushed it so much i ended up smoking my engine
This one took me 2 and a half months. But I could've done it faster if I finished more than 1-2 slides per day. And yup its powerpoint 2003. The ONLY version I can animate with ease. Kinda like how Takumi works well with his AE86 lol.
@@foxendo it's harder, could be even close to impossible to hold a drift, but yeah, still possible to slide it. Heck you can EASILY break loose an F1's traction...

No problem. I forgot to mention, i got 2 ideas that you can use it or not. The first idea will be livestreams, you can do livestreams on youtube while you animate but you can also do livestreams while you do something for exemple playing games. The second idea will be a Paro D video idea. When Jae with his GT86 and the legendary Honocar (idk what is the real name of her) with her MP4-12C are driving, then Jae gets a call from a old friend and he (Jae's Friend) said that he has difficulties for beating 2 drivers (Jae's friend would drive a red 1969 Dodge Charger R/T) and he asked if Jae can win against those 2 drivers (the 2 drivers' cars are a Grey Subaru BRZ and a Black Scion FR-S). Jae said yes and then he goes where the 2 drivers are and the races starts. the music are: Night Of Fire (when Jae and the Honocar are both driving) Enigma aka the initial d soundfile (when Jae gets a call from his old friend) Go2's song which is Spitfire (in the beginning of the race and during in the race too) Project D III aka another initial d soundfile (when Jae starts to do his new technique) M.O.V.E - Days (in the credits). My English isn't very great so i hope you understand and sorry for the late reply.

When I animate live on youtube, yes it can give everyone an inside look on how I use PPT to make animations which I think is really good but it can also totally expose the story I'm making which for me is not so good. Maybe I'll consider it if I do live animating just to make tutorials and stuff. An idea for Paro D? And wow you put alot of thought into this. I will hold on to your idea and see what I can do with it. I really hate to admit to you but, I already have a pipeline for the whole story of Paro D planned. BUT what I can tell you is that maybe this can be Extra Spoof or something ;)

Hey brad, I chose Powerpoint because I am very comfortable animating with it compared to other software. Sometimes I even think its not practical to use but since I've been playing around with PPT since 2007, I just learned some tricks over time hehe.
Aw thanks. My biggest priority was to really capture the feel of the races in Initial D, and make fun of it at the same time. I've been animating in Powerpoint for 11 years now. And what I can say is I treat PPT like a blank stage instead of a slide. Mostly it's all about assigning the right effects and timings to every object in the slide. But that's actually the easier part. The grueling part is actually the spriting and planning the story, pacing, and camera angles.
Chixman And I'm sure the end result would be satisfying. I've done some animation in Powerpoint when I was in Junior High. It's not really good, but the satisfaction of seeing it in action is priceless.
Tried powerpoint, but it couldn't load, but I was inspired by this animation to make a parody of the original opening. Because it was the last possible thing that would work, I'm currently making the animation in Microsoft Photos.

That time I was focusing more on what kind of overtakes have not been done in the anime yet and since I'm just doing a spoof I can make it crazier lol.

This is still my favorite part of paro D, I loved the song choices here, and this is the first appearance of the WALL RUN. And the race was amazing.

It depends, making a slide that is animation heavy can take up 1 to 2 hours. While the easier scenes take 5-30 minutes.
