I think it's a 250 cc which has being bored out to 288 cc & Honda have called it a new bike-which it is not. It begs the question when they do this is that normally when the factory make a 250 cc motorbike the rest of the engine including the crankshaft con rod & bearings including the frame & chassis are built to a weight to suit a 250 cc engine & it's out put. However when you bore it out it's no longer a 250cc motorcycle & you've incresed the output (hp), however the strength & integrity of the engine is still designed for 250 cc. So, what do you think happens-you reduce the life cycle of the engine for a start as the components were never designed for the larger displacement. You had big problems with this motorcycle with the engine requiring a full strip down & from memory you broke the sub frame. But I would have thought the biggest issue with it for you is that you had 2 very serious accidents requiring recovery. Somehow you rode the Royal Enfield over far more challenging terrain in extreme weather, yet you never suffered any serious accidents requiring time off. I'm not suggesting the Himalayan as the only option however the Triumph Scrambler 400X & the CF Moto450MT, as well as the Himalayan 452 are designed with bigger mileages in mind & as such they are built to handle it. The CRF 288 Rally is basically a gorified trail bike. It is not an adventure bike in the true sense of the word, as it is too small in capacity. You need a minimum of 350-400cc otherwise it simply won't cover the miles reliably. I've heard this thing running over difficult terrain & it sounds like a toy, like a sewing machine. You're waisting your time.
