Arthur and John to me is equally as important to me, and listening to this song just makes me think back on how happy he was after leaving the gang with his wife and building the ranch. It just makes Johns death more unbearable
Yeah, the Epilogue was so happy for the most part and would've remained happy for those who didn't play RDR1 if Rockstar hadn't put Ross in the credit scenes. If you didn't know what would happen to John, then you definitely know now that his future isn't good.
I was hopeful that Arthur would live by some miracle, but as soon as I saw him keel over and cough up blood I just thought "Well he is getting a real Doc Holiday ending". Damn that ending was great though
Doc died at a hospital in Colorado and before he died his best friend and only friend Wyatt Earp came by to play poker with him and it was the last time Wyatt saw Doc.
It's so sad no one knows this is Daniel Lanois. The song is Red. He's an amazing musician and producer and sadly he's criminally underrated. You should listen to his 2005 album Belladonna, all the songs are perfect for both RDR games. Also you should check stuff like Oh Mercy and Time Out Of Mind from Bob Dylan, they were produced by Lanois and are simply majestic
When i hear this song i feel happy, but sad at same time Because John finaly found a happy life that you know that it is not going to have a happy ending
During my first play through I had kept the same horse throughout the entire game so when your horse gets shot at the end when Arthur and John run, I lost both Arthur and my horse at the same time. It took me awhile to start the epilogue because it was so much so suddenly and when I started playing it and called my horse and it was just some random one, not my girl, I just sat for a second pretty sad
Well I finished the game around a month ago now but Arthur Morgan was one of the greatest game protagonists I have ever played as. RIP Arthur Morgan, red and dead but found his goddamn redemption.
In a way I find this song sadder than “that’s the way it is” because you know it’s finally the end and that chapter of their lives (being with the gang) is officially over. :(
I cried a lot during the ending credits, where Charles and Sadie left, it just hit me hard. Because like John knew them and cared for them so deeply and so did I, and when they left, I knew I would never see them again, and neither would John or Abigail or Jack or Uncle. It’s just a very sad ending. I’m a guy, and I’m not afraid of saying I cried a lot.
