This is very helpful! On February next year it will be open for my country. I’m soooo excited to apply for this visa and experience working holiday in NZ 💜❤️
That's awesome Cristel! You will have an amazing experience, we're sure! We have more Working Holiday videos coming up real soon so hope that helps too :) If you have any questions, let us know :)
Hi people ! So I’m into my second year on a WH Visa in Australia . By August 2020 I’ll have around 8,000 bucks AUD . Is this enough to book flight to New Zealand , insurance etc and all the main spending factors . Conversions strike me a bit .
1000AUD = 1060NZD so pretty much the same amount. You should have enough money to take a trip to NZ if you take a cheap local insurance (see our tips here -> www.backpackerguide.nz/medical-travel-insurance-for-new-zealand/) and get a good deal on your flight.
That is the best approach that we suggest to most backpackers ❤️ Join on live session in 45min if you want to chat further about it, it's a lot of fun!
Thank you for the helpful information! I have a random question, my boyfriend has both a Spanish and Mexican passport and he would like to apply for the Spanish visa and then the Mexican visa in case the Mexican visa doesn't get accepted. The Mexican visa is slightly better in that it is longer, do you know if it is possible to get accepted for a visa and then cancel and apply for another one? Thanks
Hey Michelle, that is such a specific question that we won't be able to help with that. We think you should contact immigration New Zealand directly with this question so you get the best answer possible :)
Unfortunately I am not under 30 so I do not qualify for a working holiday permit. The ageism thing really pisses me off....need to find another way to work and stay and NZ if at all possible.
I'm only 18 but for me it's a dream to do a Work and Travel in New Zealand. So many steps i think it's a little overwhelming for me. Wish i had a partner to go with haha
We both arrived in New Zealand alone actually and it was the best decision of our lives (as you can probably tell, we really love nz). We've met so many 18 year old solo travellers in NZ - it's a great time to travel and will be a huge learning experience :) Hope these articles will help -> bpkg.nz/srkwi and bpkg.nz/xgvur
Thank you, i didn't know about these facebook groups, but i also think travelling alone boosts a lot of self confidence, really looking forward to the trip!
Yeah I totally agree with you, solo travel helps you become who you ought to be! You will love it! Plus NZ is super fun and safe so there is not much of a risk ;)
Hope you guys read this comment. I really want to start traveling around the world but I do not have a lot of money or experience. I started to save up money and was thinking of working in New-Zealand for a year(I live in Namibia)after that year I wil travel for as long as I can on a budget. Would this work?
A lot of people do, it is really fun to be a long-termer in hostels, but many people also look for a flat (shared apartment) in the city they decide to work in. But it is only worth it if you are going to stay 6 or more months.
We have a whole section of the site dedicated to this so this should be a good place for you to start your research -> www.backpackerguide.nz/category/accommodation/long-term-accommodation/
Hello guys, loving your videos, they're so useful. I only have 6 weeks left until I fly to Auckland for my WHV! I forgot to ask, do I need any vaccines? I'm from the UK.
Thanks for the kind words Sophie! The answer is simple: Nope! There are no mandatory vaccines for a trip to New Zealand and as far as we know, there are no recommended vaccines either. How long will you spend in NZ?
Hey Sophie, great question! Yep we wrote a full article on the subject that you can find right here -> www.backpackerguide.nz/medical-travel-insurance-for-new-zealand/ but in short, our fav' one is Orbit Protect (link -> goo.gl/5H1Px2) it's cheap, reliable and based in NZ.
I almost fell of my chair when you said that ”nz$5500 + plane ticket is probably ’enough’” never heard anything close to this crazyness. I would say that $3000 is more than enough to arrive with if you plan to shoot straight into the job market.
Feel free to have a different budget than the one we suggest from our own experience. Also, please refer to the minimum funds available conditions on your working holiday visa as most visas have a minimum of NZ$4200 requirement :) Have fun in NZ!
Some countries visa's run out in matters of minutes, some countrie's quota never run out. Contact immigration NZ directly with this question for more info :)
On this page (www.backpackerguide.nz/category/work-in-nz/working-holiday-visa/) you will find out all about the working holiday visa including a full 3 parts guide to apply online. You do not need to pass through a company the process is very easy to do directly on the immigration New Zealand website.
Hey Junepii, all the links are in the video's description under the title "link dump". If you click on "SHOW MORE" just under the description of the video you will find them all :)
BackpackerGuide.NZ I was but the spaces this year are full! So I was thinking Australia instead. Just worried about haemorrhaging money and leaving my current full time job back home! (I'm in Singapore)
Oh no! That sucks :( It can be pretty scary to leave security but as people who have done it, we feel like a working holiday is a much more rewarding experience than keeping a full time job. A working holiday is definitely a "lifestyle" choice rather than a "money making" choice.
Hi Prabhat, unfortunately it doesn't look like New Zealand has a working holiday scheme for India :/ Plus, you usually need to be between 18-30 years old to apply. We recommend finding other visa options on the Immigration NZ website -> www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas
reading comments alone is helpful enough :D thx for sharing this video guys!
Thanks for the kind words Dennis :) There's much more reading for you on www.backpackerguide.nz When are you off to New Zealand?
@@NZPocketGuide tq for the info! am still doing some research on locations and jobs availability before making that big decision.

Awesome Daniel, when are you planning to come to New Zealand?
BackpackerGuide.NZ Planning to come this December when it gets cold here in Toronto :)
Good plan! If you plan your trip correctly you might be able to avoid a couple of Canadian winters!

You will need to contact immigration NZ directly with this question as we are not immigration advisers :(
Is everyone who applies accepted? (everyone that is eligable)
If you meet the requirements, and if you are within the quotas allocated for your country for that year, you should be good to go :)
