No DLNA and no AAC (at least) is a pity for me.
A lot of people talk about bass in regards to speakers, but I've always found JBL speakers a bit thumpy and bass-heavy, more oriented towards rap/hip-hop/electronic/dance/pop. I listen to a lot of rock and metal which uses very low tunings on the instruments...does the speaker handle this type of music well, without the lows getting muddy?
You're right in saying JBL speakers are bass heavy. And historically some of them have suffered with the low ends as you say. But the newer models (Authentics, 120,320 and Xtreme 4) have definitely upped their game in this area. To me, they sound just as good as the competition now
@@HammoTechReviews Great response, thanks so much! I'm upgrading from a 12 year old Sony RDP-X200iP iPod dock which is finally giving up and I think the JBL Authentics 200 might be the one to go for. Either that or the Denon Home 150, which is considerably cheaper...
Love mine sounds great
Love the look of them!
It sounds good lol i could definitely hear the bass thumping. Dont usually expect anything other from JBL tho. Dont really understand not having a battery on a little guy like that though. Great job as usual Hammo :)
I guess being mains powered gives it more space to have bigger drivers and the passive radiator underneath. If it had a battery it would take up a lot of space. Either way it’s a great speaker 😁 thanks for the kind words
Stupid question. I know you can put it in stereo mode in the app, but if you play it through Apple TV, would the stereo mode still work? Great video btw!
Thanks 😁 I’m actually not sure about that one, never tested through Apple TV. Hopefully someone else in the comments can help you out!
@HammoTechReviews well I decided to get a 500 but I currently have a 200 so hopefully I will get another 200 soon and will let you know 🫡
The bass just rattles everything around it, for its size it is defenently super powerfull
Thank you for the great video. I purchased and received the Authentic 200 version at the end of September. However, I think there might be an issue. The voice response (the sound when saying 'Hey Google') works fine, and the volume can be adjusted via the toggle button or JBL One app. However, when I play RUclips Music or podcasts through Google Home, the sound is extremely low, and I cannot adjust it. Even when I connect my phone via Bluetooth, the sound is so low that I have to put my ear right next to it to hear, and the volume doesn't increase even when I try adjusting it through the app or toggle. Has anyone experienced this issue? Did I receive a defective unit? 😭
It is probably worth trying a factory reset through the app first, but if that fails, send it back.
Compare with the Denon 150
Great review. Taking price into consideration, would you recommend this or the Sonos Era 100? I mainly use Alexa so Google Assistant is not a factor.
Thanks 😁 I personally prefer this, as I listen to quite bass heavy music, and like the JBL signature. But if you prefer higher quality sound over bass then the Sonos is better
@@HammoTechReviews I'm a student so I can get the Sonos for around $210. Do you think that's a good deal?
@@eduardogumila8429 yea sounds like a good deal, you can't get them for that here
Wich speaker is better please, I like the 200, the Sonos era 300 is on offer at the moment, wich would you recommend please.
@@stevendavies3379 Completely different. The Era 300 goes against the JBL Authentics 500. So overall I'm pretty sure the Era 300 would be better in every way compared to the Authentics 200.
how do you compare this A200 vs devialet mania in terms of sound quality? I know there is a big gap in price. Thanks.
@@bonafp It doesn’t quite have the same feel to it, not as premium or punchy as the Mania, and definitely doesn’t have the design.
But it’s not far off, it’s just as loud, and the bass is almost there. Definitely better value for money
Hi, how to turn off the JBL Authentics 200?
You can’t really. It’s just permanently on standby mode
Can this pair with another 200 JBL for stereo?
Yes you can, with the JBL ONE app
Compare with HK aura 3 .
I’m telling you right now this wins. No competition
@@HammoTechReviews is the sound better than sonos one
@@KrishnaSingh-ow1ie sound quality is on par. But the volume and bass are world apart
Between this or acton 3 wich one Is better?
I prefer this
@@HammoTechReviews you can say me why?
@@rodrigomoyano6346the JBL can go louder and has stronger bass than the Action 3. Due to its downward firing subwoofer.
