I chose the MP, because it is not electronic and has a coupled light meter. I get constant exposure information when composing which I can follow or not. The great value for me is that I can decide without taking my eye off the range finder and filters for B&W are accounted for.
Great video! Really like your channel. I would like to add that M3, M2, M4, (Some M6) take IXMOO cassettes but not the M7, MP, or MA. I am not sure about the M5. IXMOO, Leica's brass reloadable cassettes. I bulk load and use the IXMOO cassettes a lot. I shoot an MP and a M2 as my main cameras but also use a M4 and M3. But I prefer the M2 and using IXMOO cassettes is just one of the reasons. I also find with the M2 frame counter if I shoot only 36 rolls, the frame counter normally ends at 2 or 3 frames before 0 and that is about perfect. So do not find myself adjusting it that often. The M2 is my workhorse. After 8 years of constant use it just had to go in for a CLA because the slow speeds were slightly off. Thanks!
Thanks Jesse! Very informative and I just did some search on IXMOO. If I load properly with normal canisters, it will end exactly like what you mentioned. Then I don’t need to reset the counter.
I think for most people, the poor man's Leica is the best choice. Its the Canon Cannonet IIIG. Sometimes you can find a good working one for $100, fast f1.7 40mm lens, easy to load, has an accurate light meter that is behind the filter so you don't have to calculate meter readings, It is a quality, usually made in Japan camera. It is a rangefinder. A fantastic travel camera. Great for street photography too.
Thanks Richard. Canonet GIII QL17 was my first dream rangefinder camera but ended up getting a QL19 in a flea market. Yes you are right it is probably the best choice as the poor man’s leica! It is also a camera I would recommend to every film beginners. 👍🏻

Thanks for sharing! Same as what you’ve said, I like using my MP too and it’s amazing to be able to use filters and meter will account for it.
Thank you for this nice video. I bought a MP this afternoon and it is a great camera. Now I need a good lens for street and another for portrait.
Congrats! Any lenses in you wishlist?
